Despite being the non-locals, we found the staff go be very friendly and attentive. We ordered the fried pickles which are clearly made in house. I had the pork tenderloin and my spouse chose the catfish. The catfish was super fresh! He was impressed with the size too. My tenderloin was okay. It seemed to have spent a bit of time under the warming light waiting for the fish to be done. Overall we'd definitely come back! We felt the prices were reasonable for what was served and the staff was welcoming! Next time we'll save room for homemade pie too!

After all, the menu does say "(Dine-in, Buffet & Take Out). I figured I would give it a go and see if I could get further than she. I too, was not wanting to eat from the buffet. Being by myself might have helped as when asked for a beverage, they were trapped so I could place a special order. I ordered Almond Chicken. What came out was not what i know to be almond chicken. Instead it is what you see in the picture. I couldn't eat it. After a few minutes I asked for the bill. They noticed that I hadn't touched the dish or the rice and were very nice about asking me about it. The lady running the register, told me that she couldn't let me go without something. So I said I'll take a look at the buffet. For which I did, so she ended up just charging me for the buffet. I thought that that was really decent of her. I told her what almond chicken was to me for which she told me that what I know as almond chicken is actually Springfield country chicken (deep fried chicken breast, gravy with almonds shavings on top). So, if you come in and want what my version of almond chicken is... Make sure you ask for Springfield Country Chicken. I'm glad they set me straight. The coconut meringue looked really awesome and everyone said the coconut was incredible. I was part of a group of over 25 people and the owner made and served all the food and drinks. She did a superb job cooking and serving this meal. Water, tea (sweet or unsweetened) and coffee was included. Lunch was $13.75 including tax. That's sandwich, soup, PIE and a drink! Great place for a large gathering. I didn't have my phone handy so I couldn't grab pics. But the next time I'm close, I'll be stopping by for some coconut meringue pie!
