It's a pretty standard sports bar; seemed like it had a pretty good patio when the weather is good. We came on Saturday, waited 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order, but unfortunately our food never came. We waited for 40 minutes, were ignored when making eye contact with servers repeatedly, multiple larger parties that arrived after us received their orders. I don't know what made us the outlier, but we eventually gave up and left. read more

Dinner 8-21-2025. Major complaint is Deceptive pricing. Prices listed on the menu are less than what you are actually charged. I ordered the daily special; a hamburger and french fries, but was charged more than the price set on the menu . The server did not inform me of the price increase at the time I ordered. When asked, the server pointed out a sentence in the bottom that "prices are subject to change". This isn't seafood where market value applies. It was a hamburger and french fries! The menu also stated that domestic bottled beers were three dollars each. I ordered a Michelob ultra but was charged four dollars. They refused to take the dollar off stating that special didn't apply to Michelob (even though it is a domestic bottle beer), so I felt the whole establishment is shady. If the menu price is NOT what you are charged the server should tell you that before you order! I won't go back. Bait and switch pricing!! read more

I was out on a motorcycle ride, and happened through Atchison. I noticed a bunch of bikes at Mueller's and decided to stop in. The back patio was full of bikers and others hanging out and smoking, so we decided to go inside where we could enjoy our lunch smoke free. I hadn't heard of Jamie Mueller before, so I was a bit curious about all the Bills stuff around the bar. Once I read the story, it all made sense. I ordered the patty melt and fries. The patty melt was good, but the burger patty itself was super well done. I had asked for medium, but didn't make a fuss. The fries were a bit strange. They almost tasted like funnel cake or like they had sugar on them. They were hot and crispy, but the sweetness was a little strange. Inside wasn't all that busy, and initially our server was good. Once the food arrived, we didn't see her again. We had to go up to the bar for service, and I spotted our server outside talking on the phone and just hanging out. It could have been a break time, but no one came to check on us. When it was time to pay the bill, she was still outside, so had to close the tab with the bartender. Been in several times of the year for the last two or three years. Food and service is always good , beer is always cold as the X's heart. Sports memorabilia hung everywhere, good place to watch a game or catch up with friends. Nice outside deck when weather permits. This place serves as a stop for poker runs and dice runs. read more

Usually have a Tenderloin & Fries when I eat there. They are always great but I had a friend tout the hamburgers being very good. I decided to try out a Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries this time. Best burger in town! Very good! This was a middle of the week noon meal so "the loud" was not an issue. Noise is usually my only complaint. If you are in a hurry, this is NOT the place to go! First off we had to wave a server down to get waited on, which took forever. She only takes drink orders? Another lady takes the food order, but in between the two it took 30 minutes for this process to take place! So before she takes our order she told us it would be about 40 minutes till we got our food. At 40 minutes the table directly behind us got their food and they ordered quite some time after us, so I mentioned this to our 2nd waitress. About 10 minutes later we get our food finally, so 50 minutes after we ordered it! We all ordered bacon cheese burgers with fries and mushrooms. The food was good. Surprisingly nothing was greasy like you would expect. We weren't checked on to see how everything was after receiving our food. So our drinks went empty, etc. The floors in the dining room and bathroom hadn't been mopped in who knows when? I seen a bug in the bathroom. Count me out! read more

I have been to this nice establishment twice in the last week. The first time with great service and good food. Crispy chicken sandwich and onion straws were excellent. Yesterday however (062723 at 1PM) was a different story. We arrived in a group of 10. This was prearranged and they were called. Out of the 10 they took a drink order then orders from 7. The waitress forgot 3 of us and we did not get our order taken until 30 minutes. Then the food came out in another 30 minutes at 2 PM. I am a diabetic and must eat. The food again was excellent. The lady was nice but forgot about 3 of us. I will go there again. read more

hmmm... what to say? considering the other options in town, we had to try this at least once. Came here for lunch. It was ok, had the chicken strips and fries. Not bad. thick chicken strips. The staff was friendly. The most memorable part of the meal was the table we sat at - it was covered in cut outs of women in their swimsuits. As a bunch of dudes it was funny, but if I were to take my girlfriend or daughter here I think we would feel uncomfortable. by far the worst service and food we've ever experienced. ordered our food and 45 minutes later it showed up and it was cold. half of it was wrong. on top of that we never got a refill on drinks or even asked if we wanted refills. then the waiter went outside and got a couple buddies to come in cause he knew wasn't paying for half our bill cause of everything that was wrong. poor place to go and very very poor management. never again will we be going here. read more

This is the one place I will ALWAYS come to when I'm in town. The staff is always nice and courteous no matter who you get. It's a relaxed atmosphere and there prices are great. The menu is standard bar food, but it's better than most. A few of the standout items: -Wings: I've tried wings all over the US, UK an Southeast Asia, and I can say with confidence these are the best in the world. And I mean that objectively. -Cheese Fries: The have both runny cheese and shredded cheese, and they just hit different. -Pepsi: I don't drink Pepsi. Ever. Last time I went in, sat at a table and had the server come by three times, to take my order, to bring my food, and to bring the bill. Bartender came over to a table with some college girls and sat there talking with them. I needed a refill, but that didn't appear to be of interest to him. Food is okay. Wings are good. The quintessential small town sports bar. Not a place where I would take the kids, but you do see some there (but who am I to judge). The prices are good, but if you are in a hurry, and it is busy, don't go. It has good bar food, great cheeseburgers, cold beer, everything you could want in the typical BAR experience. If you are out on a motorcycle ride, and in Atchison, this is the place to stop. You can sit on a nice, tree shaded deck along the river, and throw back a few cold ones with bikers from all over the area. read more

Great place right on the river, with outdoor seating to enjoy the scenery and plenty of parking in the back. Seemed like a popular place, it was pretty busy already when we got there. Service was a little slow but I can't blame them for that, as they were already busy and we showed up with about 25 people. Prices were decent, portions were great. I had the Philly cheese steak and it was one of the best I've had (I've never been to Philly to have a "real" one) but I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Mueller's Lockeroom - American Near Me - Atchison, Kansas

Mueller's is one of about three places in Atchison that can call itself a bar. The lack of competition makes it both good and bad (SOMEONE you know is always going to be there, but you also lack any sort of anonymity--unless you're from out of town, in which case you'll be stared at awkwardly or ignored--kinda like in Atchison and small towns in general). One of the best things about Mueller's is that it lacks any normal size high-ball glass. Instead, a vodka tonic will be served in a 32 oz soda glass. And the drinks are cheap! That's worth three stars in my book, once you get past the oddness of it. One of the worst things about Mueller's is the disgusting amount of smoke that saturates clothing and hair. It's seriously disturbing. I'm not anti-smoking, or even necessarily pro-smoking bans, but this is DISGUSTING. They need a better ventilation system, a window--SOMETHING. Some other notes: For some reason images of pre-war scenes in "The Deer Hunter" always come to mind when I think about Mueller's. If you go there around 6pm on a weekday, you might see why. Mueller's is great for those of us who grew up in Atchison and want to have a mini-class reunion. I'm not sure what I would think though if that were my college bar. They have the best grilled ham and cheese sandwich ever. I'm not even sure why I like it so much, but it's delish. The compound word of "lockeroom" annoys me. Pretty good standard bar food. I don't really drink, so I can't speak to the quality of the bar, but I do usuall enjoy eating here during the day. It can get pretty crowded and stuff at night, especially weekend nights, so I avoid it then. But for a good old burger or some wings for a lunch, it's a good choice. read more

Eaters and Drinkers beware..... Decided to grab a quick bite to eat at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday. Decided to go ahead and give Mueller's a try in spite of the other poor reviews. The two of us sat indoors and talked to the waitress prior to seating ourselves. It was another ten minutes before she took our drink order, although the establishment was basically dead. The draft beer I ordered was very flat and not very cold. We ordered the chicken strip special and an order of fried mushrooms. It was another twenty minutes until the mushrooms arrived which were very unpleasant. Another twenty minutes passed before the chicken strips arrived which were very over-cooked and dry. We dropped off my son at BC. Stopped in for a Beer and sandwich before heading home. We are Chicago people and enjoy neighborhood bars. Felt very comfortable there. beer was cold, food was good , and staff was friendly and accomodating. Little problem with flies, though. probably the river and deck area attract them. It is what it is. Good place to get an appetizer (nothing homemade, probably pulled out of the freezer and fried). Only about 3 draw beers to choose from, but have everything else you would want to drink. Service is really friendly. Type of place everyone knows everyone.
