The burger with cream cheese and mushrooms was ok--they cooked it to the requested doneness (medium rare) which was very nice. Maybe I should have added bacon to jazz up the flavor. The potato salad was ok, a bit too sweet for me but for tater salad, it's pretty standard. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich on nice, soft, fresh ciabatta bread was excellent! The chicken was hot, juicy and fresh. The bacon was plentiful and delicious. The ranch tastes homemade. The steamed veggies were exactly what I was expecting--Cooked perfectly and piping hot. Willie's is always a great experience from their service to food they knock it out of the park. This is a family favorite that everyone loves. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, to steak they have something for everyone. During lent they offer seafood specials that are delicious as well. We were taking a day trip to Weston/Atchison and decided to try somewhere local for dinner. We are so glad that we stopped in here! I don't personally feel like Sports Pubs are typically known for their food, but this place should be. They had quite an expansive menu with several items that sounded delicious to me. I ended up picking the Chicken Fried Chicken, because I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all and it would reheat well. The portion sizes were very generous and the chicken was still amazing after being microwaved the next time. Service was quick and friendly, the place was spaced out enough that it didn't feel too loud or crowded, even though almost all of the tables were full. If you are in the area and are looking for a place to eat, I highly recommend Willie's. We will be coming back to try more items off their menu. They do not have a separate list for draft beers so make sure it says it next to the name if that's what you want. read more

The food has not been as good the last few visits. The French fries are never cooked long enough. If you don't sit within eyesight of the staff you will never get asked if you need anything else and the staff is always congregating at the front tables. The ambiance is ok for a sports place. Willie's has a very fun atmosphere and good food. A great place to be for typical bar food and drinks, not to mention the prices are good and reasonable. I ordered a grilled chicken breast with sweet potato fries and root beer - I really liked my meal. The rest of my family ordered some burgers, salads, and soup of the day. Took a trip to Atchison, KS and grabbed some lunch at Willie's. We split a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and it was delicious. Ciabatta bread, grilled chicken, crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato. Ranch on the side because I don't like it :-). Crinkle cut fries were the side. We split the meal and they simply brought out a second plate. It was a perfect amount to eat given it was a late lunch. We used on street parking, which was free. The place was very packed for a Sunday mid afternoon. Service was good. Lots of TVs to choose from hockey, basketball, and golf. Glad we stopped. read more

My partner and I arrived to enjoy what was supposed to be a nice lunch while I was getting a tour of the town. We were greeted by the hostess and told to seat anywhere. I had my emotional support dog (7 lbs miniature poodle) in his carry on. The waitress took our order. No one asked for documentation nor question the fact of me having my pet. Ice tea arrived and all the sudden this white guy approached us in a misdemeanor arrogant frustrated way making a big scene telling us that we needed to leave premises. That we couldn't have a dog sitting on his booth. I tried to explain he was an emotional support dog. He questioned me for what reasons. I calmly said anxiety and proceeded to show him my card. He screamed saying that he wasn't a service dog and that I needed to leave right now! We remained calm and left but I believe this out of place reaction on his part needed to be exposed. I wonder if his mean reaction was mostly because we are a gay couple? I felt totally discriminated for being gay and Latin. Very disappointing that this type of human being now in days runs a business. An advice to the owner, please change your management and if you are the owner please get a therapist to treat your anger issues. You acted as a Total homophobic and in a discriminatory manner. We are out of towners who came to visit Atchison for the holidays and wanted to check out Willie's. We were seated right away and the service was great. Definitely a sports bar vibe but you dont feel like you're in a cafeteria staring at each other because they have the seating designed with a second level giving some privacy to your meal. Our server came to our table immediately, made suggestions, and checked on us frequently. We got a beer (Raspberry Jam) and a mixed drink (Moscow Mule) to start and both came out right away. The Moscow Mule was a steal for $5 and lasted my whole meal. As a starter we got the fried zucchini with jalapeño ranch. Wow. So crispy and large portion, and the ranch was delicious. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin and was disappointed when it came out very well done. I told the server who seemed to have thought I wanted it medium well not medium rare. They redid the steak, it came out perfect the second time and they comped it in my meal. Definitely not necessary but the manager came over and apologized. It's obvious they take good service seriously and for a small town bar that likely would have customers no matter what it's such a great thing to see. I can't say enough about this place....the hostess was welcoming, dining room was clean, service was sincere and just the right amount of check-Ins, even though training was occurring, food was excellent and served at the right temperature. I've only been here 6 times. But this most recent one was just top tier. I ordered the chili cheeseburger and I finished it quicker than I could get ready. It was a monstrous burger that was eaten by my monstrous mouth. There's this server with a raspy voice, she's served me like twice, and she was amazing both times.
