I used to love this location, Ive gone multiple times over the years and have always had great service. Unfortunately today this was not the case. I had my mom go in for me and order. My mom is a traditional mexican woman, she speaks great english in my opinion but has a little bit of a hard time with technology. This specific location has touch screen pads to order and of course the register. My mom happily went in to order and waited at the register. A rude little white girl proceeds to ask her what she needs and that she can order on the screens. My mom nicely explains that she doesn't know how to use them and would like to just order. This employee proceeds to make a face at her and tell her it is very easy to use and that she just needs to tap the screen. My mom nicely reiterates that she doesn't know how and would just like to again ORDER. This employee is then told by another employee to just take her order and stop with the back talk. My mom is finally able to order and is left really uncomfortable and confused why she was belittled in such a ridiculous way. Normally i wouldn't make such a review for something like this but this is seriously so unprofessional and micro aggressive as fuck. I will happily never return to this location! I like this location- it's very good and the popcorn chicken is very good. They have kiosks so you don't order with a person. It is not bad because they are pretty fast. When I place the order online, it is ready pretty fast. The only down side is that the parking lot is not right in front- If you are in a rush you have to double park but it's an alley so it's not too busy. read more

Mr Green Bubble is a small boba shop in Menlo Park. I really wanted to try the matcha drinks but it was a little too late in the afternoon for caffeine for me. I went with the Purple Cloud instead since I've never had a drink like this before. I assumed it would be ube or taro flavored, but the employee informed me that it's actually yam flavored and there's a yam puree inside. I didn't know what to expect but I figured i would try it. The yam inside reminded me of a bean paste. It was definitely an interesting drink. I liked it but probably wouldn't get it again. Tried this place out after a Stanford visit & we're so happy we did! It was easy to find & parking wasn't hard because there is street parking available as well as a paid lot. Drinks first. We LOVED the cups with the ears & they also had a stopper where you put the straw which is useful for taking it to-go. Ordered a lemonade which came in a standard boba cup with the plastic seal. We ordered the following flavors: matcha strawberry, passion orange guava, and pineapple coconut. All with boba. All 3 flavors were yummy! We enjoyed them. The honey boba was good too, tasted fresh! If you drink boba a lot you know that not all boba tastes the same. lol. The lemonade was just okay though. As far as food we ordered popcorn chicken & waffle fries. Both were delicious. Chicken was well seasoned with good crunch. Same with the fries. Portions were good for the price. They had sweet&sour sauce and ketchup available for dipping. They have "happy hour" drinks but the selection is limited. If they expanded this promo to include more that would be great. Also, the ambiance isn't bad. You could def meet up with a friend or get some work/reading done, but there is potential to make it a little trendier in this current boba shop era. I just love Mr. Green Bubble, and the Menlo Park location did not disappoint this past Sunday. The strawberry smoothie had the perfect consistency, sweet and creamy, and not too thick, just delightful. But they offer so much more than delicious fruit flavored smoothies. The genmeicha tea was satisfying, the popcorn chicken had great spice and was served hot and crispy, the oreo egg puff and chocolate egg puff were freshly made and had a nice chocolatey muffin-like texture inside (though I prefer the mochi waffles a little more). Ordering at the self-order kiosk was easy, drinks were ready in less than 5 minutes, and the food took about 15 minutes. Employee interaction was almost nonexistent and unnecessary, and we enjoyed our treats in an inviting indoor space decorated with lovely green artwork. read more

It's super fresh, piping hot, flavored just right. Very addicting. Good chunks of chicken meat. So good! UJI MATCHA -- taste like milk. Nothing special, it was 80% milk and 20% matcha. At least I was able to get oat milk. THAI TEA -- also average, nothing special. Vey sweet even for 50% sweet. Came in for a quick snack. Got the popcorn chicken, egg rolls, and two bobas. Popcorn chicken was fried well but lacked flavor. Couldn't taste any basil. Egg rolls were also very basic and reliant on the sweet and sour sauce. The inside was also a little mushy and I couldn't tell if they were undercooked of what... The best floral milk tea I have had in a long while! I highly recommend trying their Rose Honey Milk Tea. So fragrant, but not overly flower-tasting. The perfect milk-to-tea ratio too. Since they sweeten the drink with honey instead of sugar, it wasn't too sweet (I got 50%, which was perfect for me!) The fruit tea we had too had only slices of orange in it while the picture we saw on the menu was a variety. It tasted just like watered down orange juice in a bottle. My go-to is 0% sweet taro milk tea with agar boba (clear crystal boba, try it!), honey boba, and grass jelly. Check out their coconut pandan mochi waffle, super good! They also have fried chicken with 5 levels of spiciness. We got 4 and it was great level of spice, pretty spicy, you can also ask for chili powder on the side. Unexpectedly fantastic. My bf and I made a quick stop here before heading home & knew we made a mistake. We're hapless victims of boba addiction, Mr Greenbubble to blame! This place is obscured by other storefronts (weird building placement, but ok), but def worth the search. We arrived around 6pm and were met with only 1 dude manning the drinks/kitchen/register, yet still solid service. DRAGONADE (w/ lychee jelly): FYI, this one's seasonal! Taste-wise, fresh-- I can't say for certain if all Mr Greenbubble drinks are made with fresh ingredients, but it's particularly difficult to mimic the subtle tang of dragonfruit. Bits of pulp on the surface, so I'd hope it's not syrup. Whatever they did, this is basically crack. I would die for this 100% ROSE HONEY MT (w/boba, 75% sweet & less sugar): Basic honey MT with some rose flavoring. Boba cooked well. Good, but hard to compare to the dragonade. Curious as to how they get their drinks to not separate, especially with the non-dairy creamer. Regardless, the "milk" to tea ratio is great, makes for a rich overall flavor without overpowering the tea itself. I'd like to see them offer this with other non-dairy milks instead of creamer. **Side note: restrooms are in the back hallway through a one-way door-- once you're out, you'll have to go through the hallway, out the exit, and back around to get into the store. read more

The tables were all dirty, when we asked for one to be cleaned, they first handed us one single small napkin. I ordered the Matcha Smoothie over the summer before I went to babysit a family that lived in Menlo Park and subsequently all of us got severe food poisoning. The drink tasted completely fine, so I'm thinking that there was bacteria or a virus in the ice machine, and not that the milk was rotten. After our trip to Ikea and having tons of ikea food, it was time for some dessert. On the way back home I found this spot on here and saw the reviews talking about their Mochi Waffles, I was sold - as I hoped. They only have two flavors for the Mochi waffles which were the Pandan and Original.. I could already imagine how the original would taste like so I went for the pandan. The waffle does have that mochi consistency but like butter! Definitely need to give it a go. I tried the gyudon and the popcorn chicken lunch, which were both very good but a few things to note: 1. gyudon's meat was a bit more gristly and more rice than anything else 2. popcorn chicken, even at level 1 is HOT! I think they use a chili powder on the popcorn chicken so ask for it on the side :). The chicken bento included a spring roll, which I thought was a nice and different touch compared to the tea egg and little side dishes from other places. Lastly, I tried the pandan waffles. It was $10 and I totally fell for it. Don't get me wrong, it's great but I am having a hard time swallowing the price of this snack since the bentos were a dollar more. I'm from Southern California so obviously my boba standards a bit high, but I can say that Green Bubble is a very decent option. I was really looking to trying this place since it's a friend's favorite place to get Boba. The place has plenty of comfy seating and it centrally located in downtown Menlo Park. There was no line on Saturday morning - very different from the lines already forming early at Boba Guys. I tried the decaf Early Gray with whole milk (extra charge for whole milk? WTH?). Most other places that I have tried do not do charge more for milk. Upside is that they do have organic milk - not sure which dairy it is. You can get the commercial non dairy creamer at no extra charge. I got no ice, unsweetened - no toppings. The portion is nice size cup but the taste just was weak. I could barely detect the taste of any tea for sure it didn't taste at all like Earl Gray. I barely drank any since it tasted like milky water.....Sigh Customer service was just ok. I'm used to the more friendly helpful service at Boba Guys. Well at least my tea date with a friend was fun. They have braised pork bowl now!!!!!!!! I was hoping they'd add it to their menu, and it was amazing!! Flavor was really good, had a wonderful balance of fatty meat to lean meat, and the sauce was delicious too! Plus they gave a good amt of the pickled veggies, which I personally love (and usually get extra of). My only gripe is that there was WAY more rice (like 85% rice) than meat. The only redeeming factor for that was that they added a lot of sauce on the rice. Maybe it's bc of COVID that they're trying to cut costs though, which I understand. Love that there's a boba place in Menlo Park now! This place is hard to find and seating is cramped and awkward. There are 2 doors and neither are automated. The menu is incomplete (they have food on one but it's posted only on the iPad) and it's hard to navigate. Other than that I do love their avocado smoothie because it tastes fresh (get it 50% sweet). The tapioca is pretty average. I LOVE their mochi waffle. It's dense but chewy. Could be a meal! Their fried chicken is delicious and a generous portion for $6 but there's a ton of MSG and i was so thirsty for hours after. The WiFi is also surprisingly great. The drinks are mediocre but the most frustrating part is the incredibly slow service. 30 minutes to make 2 drinks and only one group in line ahead of me. They have tablets at the front of the store to assist with order intake so that everyone behind the counter can focus on making drinks and getting them out to customers. I ordered a strawberry black tea as it's kind of like my basic go-to drink when I want to test out a new tea place. The tea flavor was not very strong and it was actually kind of watery? Also the boba, while fresh and warm and of good chewiness level, was actually kind of bland? I guess I should be happy that it wasn't too sweet, but it was maybe too unsweet for my taste lol.
