They assume you're hardware illiterate, if you're coming to them for repairs, and will take full advantage....
Within a week after I picked up my iPad Air 2, cracked screen/digitizer repair from Mr. Fix It Too, I spotted a crack, at the very center of the screen. I put it down, and added a second screen protector, and looked around the edge to see light coming from the bottom left of the screen, where the glass is supposed to be sealed, to the metal backing.
I pulled down the silicone protector, I had immediately put on the iPad, upon pick up, and there was no sealant (standard to all electronics) on the glass or back to keep the screen in place and keep moisture out, which would be the only reason why glass wouldn't stay where set.
Upon trying to return, to have them replace $165 digitizer/glass they broke with a bad repair: I given every excuse, why they wouldn't except responsibility.... First, I was first told (by a guy, claiming he was the owner)
-Apple no longer repaired the Air 2 (implying they were my only option),
-Then he said, I must have dropped it again, and the (original) damaged corner, was the place the screen cracked (peeling back the screen protector, I showed, there was no crack at all there now, so he was incorrect),
-Then he said, the battery must be swelling (and I told them I knew the battery wasn't even located there on this Apple, then he checked the battery app, which threw out his hypothesis all together)
-Then he said it must be the previously damaged corner (I said, then how did you hand it back to me, saying it was repaired, and how was it even set it in, if the damage was so bad, it would push it back out...?.)
-Plus, it is not considered remotely a full replacement repair, if there wasn't even a sealant, replacing the old sealant, which is what keeps the screen in place, to begin with... it is standard, and they didn't do it, or except the damage this misstep caused...
I was then told they would wave the next repair fee, for them to repair it "again", but they did not cover damages (no matter that they caused it)... like my $165 replacement digitizer screen (even though I proved, the damage was caused by their botched repair)....
I said no thank you, I'll just write a review. read more
