I found Kenny on craigslist when I was looking for someone to work on my 84 VW Westy van. Good Westy mechanics are hard to find. Kenny was honest-said he had never worked on one but that he knew he could fix it. He came over and diagnosed it within minutes, instructed me on what parts to get, and quoted me a very fair price. Kenny is wonderful. I went through a 3 month debacle with trying to fix a head gasket problem in a complicated engine. Hi, Lets face it...by the time you call a mechanic, you are probably not having the best day of your life. I called Kenny, hoping that it wasn't the clutch on my friends truck that I have the use of for a few months. He came out and we checked the obvious, adjusted, bled, etc. But nooooo-sir-eee. Mr. Fix It was awesome and his work was perfect! He got to the house when he said he would, replaced all four brake rotors and pads on all wheels, and did it in a very timely manner. A local shop quoted me over $400 for labor and he knocked it out for a fraction of that with much more convenience! Afterward I took him for a ride in my old camaro and we noticed a minor gas leak, which he proceeded to fix, FOR FREE! He said at that point we were just messing around on cars together. Kenny was soooo awesome! Very honest, reliable and knowledgeable. I had called a mechanic from CL who said he had 25+ years exp. Well, he obviously didnt because my car was in worse shape after he "fixed it". My sway bar was rigged by a wire hanger and my end link was removed and not put back on. He completely misdiagnosed my car and cost me almost $300. So while i was looking on CL to try and find a way to post a "scam notification", i came across Kennys ad. I was soooo hesitant on contacting him but the fact that he gauranteed his work and he had YELP reviews had put my mind at ease. He gave me a GR8 estimate and knew exactly what was wrong with my car BEFORE even putting my car on a jack. As he was working he was explaining every step he took and why he was doing what he was doing. Not only did he do a GR8 job on my car, but he also applied the fee that i paid for his estimate to the total cost of repair!!! I admit, im a tight wad and was gonna pay him exactly what he asked for, but my boyfriend (who is very hard to please) told me that Kenny deserved more than the fee he originally asked for because he fixed my car and was very honest. First of all, Kenny is a consummate professional. He did a great job of keeping me apprised to every step taken during out repair journey. Background: My '02 Jeep overheated and blew the top off of the radiator. I've never seen one split all the way across the top like that. He was able to help me by diagnosing all issues. There were several that came up during this breakdown. After the radiator and thermostat was replaced, it was still overheating. I knew these had to be fixed but also felt there was a different underlying issue. He did a block test and we found that there was combustion fumes in the coolant. This is indicative of a head gasket issue. He was able to get the head removed and take it to a machine shop for me. They tested and resurfaced the head. During this time it also gave me an opportunity to order all of my parts from Amazon Prime in order to save an extra couple hundred dollars over buying my parts at Autozone. Kenny was great in sending me the exact part numbers for the parts needed. We ended up replacing the radiator, head gasket, valve cover gasket, thermostat, intake manifold (he found a crack as he was removing the head), water pump and he changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs and put a new belt on for me. It was one week to the day since I broke down on the side of the road and I am back to driving my baby today. She runs better than ever. No sign of any overheating. He also found the actuator arm on my ac had broke off and fixed that real quick as well. I cannot sing his praises enough. I will continue to use his service and expertise on any thing that may come up in the future. If you need a good honest mechanic that will help you fix just what needs to be fixed without trying to upsell you, Kenny is a great asset to have in your contact list.
