I came here for the first time while on a lunch break. The falafel wrap with fries was very tasty. In fact, I asked the guy working there how the falafel was as I had been to other falafel places and the falafel at times is either hard and chewy. He gave me a sample to try and I was grateful for it. The falafel wrap was tasty, soft and not too salty. The fries were also freshly made. The establishment looked like it was a former Subway sandwich place with the well-known "vegetable image" on the side of the counter. I also wish they provided the sauces is a plastic bottle like other falafel places do. The ambiance was clean, and comfortable. My experience was positive, the prices were reasonable and I would recommend coming here for some falafels. read more

Felt exhausted and didn't want to cook, so I searched for the nearest gyro place not expecting much. It's such a great feeling when the food turns out absolutely stellar! The combination platter (gyro and chicken shawarma) packs a savory punch. Sacramento has no shortage of restaurants selling such a ubiquitous dish, but Mr Falafel has its own unique signature on it. The side hummus stands out the most -- smooth texture and visually appealing while still maintaining a subtle, rich taste. Decent value for the platter and complimentary pita at ~$20.50 pre-tip. It also helps that the owner seems like a stand up guy. Will 100% revisit in the future! read more

I agree with the previous yelpers that this little place on a strip mall has fresh pita wrapping delicious meat. They even get their pita twice a week from San Francisco and it tasted great. It is a great quick bite. There is a small free parking lot in the back. Some of the other storefronts are empty but this is a good quick very casual place. You order at the counter and can eat on the two outside tables or few inside spots. read more

Absolutely love the food! It tastes really flavorful, literally everything is good. The garlic sauce and tzatziki sauce are great, you can see them make the food fresh behind the counter. Inside is a little small but decorated cutely and has a couple of tables. The owner Tamer was super kind and gave us a free box of Baklava and offered us free fountain drinks. Service 10/10, food 10/10. read more

Saw high ratings for this spot on Yelp and Google so decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chicken kabab and kofta kabab combo platter, both meats were fantastic. The kofta kabab I enjoyed more since it had a lot more flavor. The chicken was still good too, especially with the creamy sauces they give. The pita is fluffy and pairs well with the hummus. read more

I got the chicken shawarma platter and it's so yummy! The rice was very flavorful and the chicken wasn't dry at all. The tsaziki & garlic sauces that came with the platter were so good as well. This was my first time getting food here and the owner Tamer was so nice and I could tell he puts a lot of care into the food! We were given complimentary baklava as well! And he offered us soda because of the heat. Definitely one of the nicest customer service interactions I've ever had! The inside was super spacious and very clean! read more

I came here for lunch as I was working nearby. I tried the double burger and it was pretty tasty. Service was quick and the place was clean. A bit hard to find from the street but there is a small parking lot which you have to find the small entry to access. Overall, I would be back if in the area. read more

Food is amazing, bought a combo plate with chicken schawarma and gyro. - meats are perfectly seasoned and gyro was so delicious, moist. Rice and salad is a great compliment to the meat. Was salivating while eating. Service was quick, allowed a GrubHub order and it appears to be a great local, small shop as the cashier/chef is the same. Definitely would come back! Thank you. SO FREAKING GOOD!! Beef and Lamb Gyro - the pita had a great toast to it. I'm positive that the toasted pita really made all the difference to the meal. The meat portions were generous and flavor was amazing. Such a yummy lunch to have during the day. The veggies were fresh and added a great balance. Baba ghanoush with pita. WOW!! 10/10. The flavors of this dip were so fragrant and delicious. I really truly enjoyed this so much that I saved some for later. REALLY TINY plaza parking lot. It's located right next to starbucks at the corner. There are seats inside and one patio table outside shared within the tiny strip. Recommend to dine in if you have the choice. read more

Delicious, fresh, affordable, fast. The falafel is especially great. It's a yes for me!

Mmm falafel! Love how light and fluffy the falafel is here. I had the falafel on a salad. The lettuce was pretty soggy like it was just rinsed not having any time to dry (there was a pool of water at the bottom of the bowl). The sauces on top were tasty though and complemented well with the falafel. Also had a side of fries. Liked the herb seasoning on them but they were a bit greasy to the touch. Overall 3-ish stars rounded up. Definitely recommend getting the falafel for a quick and filling snack! read more

After seeing they were open I decided to DD an order from Mr. Falafel. I was super excited to have a Mediterranean/Gyro place in East Sac. My order arrived fast and was still warm when I opened my containers. I wasn't disappointed! The baba ganoush is very good, and didn't taste bitter like others I have tried. The combo platter was generous with lots of gyro and chicken. My falafels were crunchy and great with the garlic sauce and tzatziki sauces. The only complaint was that the pita was thin- more like the lavash style bread for wraps. I prefer pita that is thicker and fluffier but what they gave me worked to wrap my rice, hummus and meat for an overall tasty lunch. The prices are on par with other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern places in the area. Next time I will try to go eat in person but as far as DD orders, this is a great place to try! read more

Decided to check out this place because I was looking for a place to pick up some kebabs. The restaurant is located in a little strip with parking in the rear which was nice. The gentleman working inside was incredibly friendly and offered a fresh falafel while waiting for my order to be done. I ended up getting the chicken kebab. It came with a side salad, some hummus, rice, and bread. I also got a container of the garlic sauce and the spicy garlic sauce. Both sauces were excellent but I think I prefer the regular one. The meal was amazing and I will definitely return in the future. Overall great food and excellent customer service! read more

Literally in the establishment as I write this review... Listen, if you're looking for a great lunch option - it's fast, flavorful (like... really savory), gives you a really good amount of food for the price, and just want something other than a burger and fries (not to say that's a bad thing, but sometimes you got to switch it up), check out Mr, Falafel. I ordered the Gyro platter and the meat is cut fresh off the roaster and placed on the plate of food. The rice is flavorful (not like little dry rocks in your throat), the sauces are perfect, and the meat is perfection. Oh, and let's not forget about the hummus and bread. The bread is warm and moist. Check these folks out. They're a hidden gem on the corner! read more

We have gotten food here several times, and again got take out. Hubby had a gyro plate and I had a chicken schwarma wrap. We had enough food for two meals. The portions are generous and prices aren't bad. And the people who work/own there are very friendly. Always a good meal! read more

New spot in East Sacramento that looks like it is taking residence in a former Subway. Not sure if that's the case, but the interior design and counter with ingredients definitely looks like it. Not a bad thing, but my immediate observation! I was like "did I walk into the wrong place?" Luckily for me, I didn't! Aside from that, my first notice was the employee behind the counter was pretty nice. He brought my meals to my table (my first being for there, and second being to go for later), and replied "thank you!" with every "thank you" I gave. And I give a LOT of "thank you"s to our service workers. Almost too many. But these were the first observations. Former Subway location, courteous employees. Food was great and affordable, too! I opted for the beef/lamb gyro wrap combo with fries and a drink for there and I took a chicken sandwich back home for later. The wrap was a little thinner than you might find on your standard gyro wrap, but the portions were great and everything tasted awesome. The other employee making the wrap asked if I wanted it spicy as he made it. I definitely did, so I'm glad he asked! Also a good thing to ask for folks that don't like spice. I didn't eat my chicken burger fresh, and saved it for the next day, but I can confidently say that it still tasted great and was very easy to heat up again in my air fryer. Next time I may try it there to compare. All in all, I got two meals with fries and a drink + tip for just a bit over $25 and everything was great. Not bad at all! There are a lot of comparable spots in the area so I'm not sure how frequently I'll make it to Mr. Falafel, but I'll certainly be recommending it to my friends in East Sac. read more

Thank you Mr. Falafel. Your food was my favorite and I always looked forward to coming here.

Shared parking lot in the back that's nearly full around lunchtime, so you may need to park on the street. Clean interior with seating indoors only. You can beat the line if you come before noon. It'll get a little noisy as customers start trickling in. The staff do not wear masks, and hand sanitizer is available by checkout counter. The staff member that took our order was friendly and gave recommendations to those who weren't sure. Fountain drinks and water are self-serve. The platters are served in to-go containers, so it's relatively easy to pack any leftovers; you just need to ask the staff for a lid. The prices are reasonable, and you can try a variety of food with the platters. I ordered the chicken kabob platter - big, tender pieces of chicken meat but not flavorful enough. The tzatziki sauce definitely helped. The pita was thin but not too soft, which was good for dipping into the hummus. The hummus had a light flavor, neither the best nor worst I've had. The salad was fresh, and the yellow rice was soft. I also got a side of falafels, which come down to about $1/piece. The falafels were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauces go well with it. I would come here again if I'm in the area but go for a different meat. read more

My partner and I love this spot. The sharwma platters are delicious and consistently good.

I'm extremely upset by the interaction I had when trying to obtain a receipt for a colleague's recent visit to your restaurant. As their administrative assistant, I called simply to request a receipt required by our firm. The person who answered the phone was unnecessarily rude and immediately dismissed my request, assuming I was trying to sell something. It was clear they weren't willing to even listen. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable--regardless of the food, basic respect and courtesy should be non-negotiable. read more

I've eaten here several times and I would continue to come here based on my experiences. The falafel is good. Maybe a bit dry but good seasoning and texture. The chicken is sometimes like cut like from a gyro spit and sometimes it is like kabab cubes. I prefer the gyro style more but both are good. The gyro meat is consistently good. The kofta is good. Both the hummus and baba ghanoush are solid. The service is fast. What's not really to like? read more

I don't write that many reviews anymore, but I felt compelled to review Mr Falafel. The beef/lamb gyro I ordered for $11.99+ tax is easily one of the best I've ever had. It tasted amazing!! I am writing this review from the restaurant table right now. It was on par with the best gyros I had in Greece. So excited to find some delicious food just a few minutes away from my office. Their Falafel was amazing, coming from a middle eastern that knows falafel very well. SKIP THE BURGERS - especially the beef burgers.
