First time back after a year or so and the whole place is transformed. The decor is all new and everything is clean and fresh but the main change was the vibe. Previously we would pick up our order and eat elsewhere as it wasn't very inviting to be in the shop but the new manager has made it a great spot to settle in and enjoy some board games with the kids while enjoying the delicious falafel. My coworkers and I came in during our lunch. The place was not busy and empty. There was one employee who took our orders, cooked our food and handled everything on his own. He did an amazing job handling everything. Despite being the only employee, he was friendly and patient. There were also several pick up orders after us. He made sure everyone was taken care of! Just went for dessert this time! Reasonable prices. Traditional baklava: Baklava is always best fresh and crunchy to me, but I have no complaints about ones that have been left out to get a little soggy. The honey and but flavors are most prominent in this version. The top layers are still a little crispy, which I like but I think that also means it doesn't have much honey coverage. The bottom is very moist with syrup, but honestly no complaints. Would get it again. Chocolate roll: I'm not sure if this is also technically called baklava, but it's basically the same as above but more like a cannoli in shape and topping. I really enjoyed this one, the dark chocolate with almond pieces on top is a nice touch. Like the traditional baklava, it is partly crunchy and partly soggy, no complaints, would get it again. Rose Turkish delight: I'm also not sure if this is the appropriate name, but it's basically what it is! Texturally, it's kind of like a jello/gelatinous gummy but softer with slightly more pull like gum? Very sweet, slightly tart. The rose petals on the outside add a neutral and slightly floral balance to the extreme sweetness (it's still extremely sweet), and the pistachios add additional texture in every bite. While you could eat it in one bite, I would recommend taking your time with it, savoring it, and maybe having it with some unsweetened rose tea :) read more

There's two outdoor tables in case you've got your fur baby with you and weather is good. My favorite are the chicken platter and falafel wrap. The rice is soo yummy, so is their pita. I needed to get dinner for 15 for a friday evening meeting. It had to be vegetarian and have gluten free options. This Falafel Corner was recommended to me because if its nearby location to my meetings location and it's food options. I called to set up a meeting and spoke to one of the co-owners. Upon arriving and meeting Kosh, I felt immediately at ease. He and his partner had recently taken over this location and welcomed our business. The location is easy to get to, very clean and has ample parking and inside seating. It is accross the street from Sac City College & Land Park, @ the corner of Freeport Blvd. and Sutterville Road. Even though this was not a huge catering gig they made me feel like I was their most important customer. I ordered 15 Falafel platters for pickup the next Friday late afternoon. They asked if I wanted the platters to be made individually or buffet style. I went with Buffet style. They also have a delivery option if you need that. I returned about 15 minutes before my pickup time late friday afternoon and the 2nd partner, Prashil, was just finishing up my order. Falafels fresh out of the fryer, pitas fresh being warmed on the grill. You can see by the picts of the trays attached here that the food was expertly prepared and fresh. Typically at most restaurants the falafel balls are a little smaller than a golf ball, but not here. Each Platter comes with 4 huge falafels almost the size of a hockey puck and all the fixings; hummus, tahini sauce, tzatziki sauce, rice, cucumber tomato salad, and pita bread. Even though the order was for 15 people there was enough food there to serve the 21 people we had in attendance with enough left over to serve at least another 10. All for a very reasonable cost of a bit over $250 with Tax and Tip included. I tried their chicken shwarma and gyro style meals on another subsequent visit and they too are very tasty and filling. I plan on making this my go to Falafel joint. I recommend you do the same. PS, I received a phone call from them later just to make sure that everything went well. Great follow up. read more

I couldn't help but compare this Falafel Corner in Sacramento off of Freeport Blvd to the location I usually go to in Natomas. While the food was just as good (as it should be given that it's a franchise), it is a higher price for less food for my normal order: the Falafel Platter. The amount of rice in the Falafel Platter is not even close to the amount at their Natomas location; I'd say it's about a third of the amount. There was also one less falafel in their Falafel Platter than what we expected based of their pictures and the amount at other locations (4 falafels instead of 5); we had ordered three sets of this item too! If you're closer to this location, it's an adequate substitute. If you're visiting this location without having been to any other Falafel Corner and you therefore do not have any prior expectations, I'm sure you'll like this location just fine. The service is friendly, and it's possible I'd return here since this location is closer in proximity to me. read more

My coworkers and I came to falafel corner for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty empty. I got a chicken sandwich and it was the worst chicken sandwich I've ever had. The chicken patty was two burnt pieces of chicken trips that barely had any meat. If you banged this chicken against the plate you'd hear a loud clanking sound, that's how overcooked it was. They're very nice to us when we come in. Dave turned me on (ooer) to Falafel Corner in Natomas back in the day, but now to our immense joy there is one closer to our hangout spots. I have enjoyed everything I've ever ordered here ever. Their falafel and gyro are excellent. Fear not over gyro wraps with no produce but lettuce, for this is not the place for such. They have onions and tomatoes in there too, and tasty tzatziki (sp?!), also lettuce but not only lettuce. No I am not typing this while high. How dare. Anyway. The platters are lots of food, only get if really hungry, hangry, highngry, or to share. For the price, what you get here is worth it. Falafels are vegan (tell me something I don't know) but I'm not sure what else is because I didn't ask or I did and forgot. Falafels are excellent though. I struggle genuinely over whether to order them or the meats when I come in. We've done both takeout and dining in, and have not run into any long waits or any of that noise. When dining in, we are usually the only ones doing so. Ah, l'amour. People come in and out for takeout orders, yet we remain. I've been to this place twice now and honestly, it's is so poorly run that I just don't have any desire to come back. The first time I came, I ordered online and they forgot an entire combo platter in the order. Today, I ordered online (and paid!) and, when I arrived, they said they hadn't gotten my order so obviously they hadn't even started the order. After waiting for 15 minutes for my order, they forgot one of the wraps we'd ordered (we'd ordered 3) so I had to wait another 15 minutes while they made that one. On top of that, they have no lids for their soda cups and they only have Pepsi in cans, so I had to ask for my money back for the drink I'd ordered (because I didn't want a Pepsi). They told me they couldn't give me my money back because I'd ordered online and so they don't have access to the system... uh, what? Never again. This place is ridiculous. read more
