This location of Falafel Corner is truly special. Ammar, who was running the entire shop, is an excellent chef. He added a great balance of spices along with ranch sauce to my two chicken shawarma platters, and the result was outstanding. The chicken was moist, tender, and perfectly spiced, with a bold flavor that stood out immediately. The rice was cooked just right, the hummus was incredibly smooth and creamy, and the pita bread came out fresh, hot, and soft--almost doughy in the best way possible. The extra ranch sauce on top of the shawarma was the perfect finishing touch and really elevated the dish. Beyond the food, the experience itself stood out. The location was very clean, and I had a great conversation with Ammar, who is finishing college and was extremely hospitable. Just give me some rice, marinated meat, some hummus, and I'm a happy boy. I would say this combo is my go to comfort take out. As you can imagine, there are a plethora of restaurants that offer this meal, so I think it's important to sort out the good ones - and this is one. Nothing was overdone. The rice was colorful and soft. The meat was tender. It came with two sauces: a light yogurt sauce and another sauce that was very tangy. The hummus was very smooth and creamy. Mix it all together, and you get something very delicious with each bite. This was a takeout order, so I cannot comment too much on service or ambience. One of the cons to my meal is related to the DoorDash interface. As someone who likes to add heat to their meal, this was not present on the DoorDash in her interface. Can someone from falafel corner comment on this? If I want to make the spicy, do I have to put that in the comments? Is there an option in store to do that? In my opinion, that was the biggest thing holding this meal back. Also wish that the pita was a little more fresh and well kept. In terms of packaging it was simply put in a small paper container like the one that holds your fries at McDonald's. We are Team Falafel Corner and have been for years! Although we are loyal to the OG Natomas restaurant, the East Sac one is way closer and equally as delicious! Service was friendly and fast. Parking is a little tricky in the lot, but there's street parking too. I highly recommend Falafel Corner to literally anyone who will listen. I could eat here everyday. Their food is fresh, packed with flavor, and a generous portion for a good price! Perfect food to take to-go! We usually opt for the gyro platter which comes with gyro meat on a bed of rice, drizzled with sauces, a side salad and hummus. Oh, and pita too! I wasn't planning on getting food in this area but I was honestly drawn in by the smell of gyros. I got the salad with gyros added on, and took it home to eat during online class. The meat itself was good, tasty and with a good texture. I think it was tossed with a really light dressing, which was good, and stuffed with feta and cucumbers. This place was good about two years ago but over the last year and a half the quality has been declining and the quality is not the same. It all started with the hummus and now has carried all the way to the gyro and falafel. The gyro is disgusting now, the pieces are all chunky, chewy and gelatinous. It no longer tastes the same and is slimy and gamy, almost like a cheap sausage. The chicken is chewy and seems like it's reheated in a microwave. Owner Toqueer is rude and combative when he receives criticism, they opened a dozen new locations and they're obviously struggling and it's affecting the quality of the food. I used to eat here weekly but when the people at my neighborhood east Sacramento location started to become rude and the food quality declined I stopped all together. I no longer recommend falafel corner. 1-12-23 It's funny, the majority of five star reviews are for the food prior to your "personal taste changes", so clearly it was good before. If you think it's good now, that's great. Good for you. I can't understand why a good thing has been changed, it's not as good now, I no longer frequent your establishment. Stopped by here with my brother for lunch and must I say, it was delicioso! 10/10 food. The service was phenomenal and attentive 10/10. The ambiance is quiet and clean 10/10. Called in my order for takeout, and they said it would be ready in 8 minutes. That was perfect timing since I was across the street finishing up some business. Parking spaces available in small shared lot. Walked in and warmly greeted by owner (?). While waiting for my food to be bagged up, the beautiful baklava and "Turkish delights" in the pastry case on the counter caught my eye. I ended up getting a couple pieces of both kinds of the Turkish delights, which were unfamiliar to me. The beet colored one was like a fruit gummy with pistachios covered with vibrant pink rose petals, and the other was like a chocolate ganache with a chewy outside. Both delicious, unexpected, and a nice finish to my falafel platter. Portion of the platter was huge. Easily 2 meals or shareable. Everything was great! Crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful falafel, creamy hummus, soft freshly baked pita bread, tasty tzatziki (pro tip: ask or order extra!!!), and mild rice pilaf to perfectly compliment the well-seasoned falafel. The portions seemed a little bit smaller than prior experiences, but everything tasted great. Four large falafel balls that are crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The chicken and gyro was tender but again not more than 4-5 oz on the platter. It's a lot of food though either way with the bread, hummus, and salad, and semi-flavored rice, plenty of carby deliciousness. I was already into the wrap for like $12 after the unnecessary tip I gave. Pretty expensive, I thought. So then the hummus was another 3.40, no tip because it was like I was putting her out. Got the hummus from the dude with the tats on his face. Just hummus. I asked for naan or pita to eat it with. Shockingly he asked for another $1.40! WTF?? Shouldn't it be included???? I got what was the equivalent of maybe one piece of pita cut into quarters. Rip off.... The falafel finally came. The pieces of falafel looked like sausage Pattie's. There were three of them in the wrap. Pretty hard to eat because they were so thick. The falafel was just ok. The sauce and the other contents were not bad. Very messy. The napkins on the table are like what your grandma would have at her house. Come on dude... buy restaurant quality napkins. I must have gone through ten of them. Anyway, the service wasn't great, the food was average, and waaaayyy overpriced. Kick down the pita bro. Go to the Mexican joint in the same center. Today was my first time having a falafel wrap at this location. I arrived around 11:15am and waited about 10 minutes for my food. Came out to be about $10. It started getting busy around lunchtime so get there early if you hate waiting. I've had my share of falafels from NYC to CA and this place was pretty good. The falafels were huge and served in a warm wrap on a bed of lettuce, white onions, hummus, and tzatziki sauce. I also ordered a few of their desserts which was just OK.
