He's definitely not as caring as his dad was. That is why I decided to find another optometrist. I'm sure this review won't hurt the Crane Optical business, but these are my thoughts and experience.

Dr. Crane's assistant prepped me for the exam and Dr. Shannon Crane performed my actual eye exam. She was very informative and went over all the tests with me, making sure I understood everything. I took my prescription to the front room and had a LARGE variety of glasses to choose from. In the past I've gone to Warby Parker, but it was refreshing to have the option of so many designer glasses. After trying several on with the help from Hanna - I made my choice. They are helpful, patient and really work to make sure your needs are met. I've referred my husband and will continue to offer them as an option w/friends.

Well. I've been going here for my glasses for years and this was probably the sorriest experience…read moreI've ever had. A few things, the setting up of the exam and the exam was fine. Everything went according to plan. However, the pick up of my glasses was extremely problematic. I had ordered a pair of regular frames and a pair of sunglasses. I arrived onsite to pick my glasses up on 7/22 after receiving a call. When I arrived, I did ask the associate about my sunglasses. I was advised at this time that my sunglasses weren't ready and they would call me in a week. No real issues with that because of Covid-19. August 1st hits and I haven't received a call. I call on August 2 (no answer), and I called the next few days after and I finally left a voicemail on 8/6. On August 10th, I finally speak with an associate who said that she had listened to my message and a shipment was coming in. She advised that she would check and call me back. I never got that call. Then I finally called on August 17, and the associate who answered said that yes, my sunglasses were in and had been since the July 22nd and they had called me. Now if this was the case, when I was there to pick up my regular frames on 7/22, why didn't the associate give my sunglasses to me? Heck, even if they had left me a voicemail after I picked up my regular frames, why didn't the associate I spoke with on 8/10 tell me that my glasses were in? To her credit, the associate on the phone was apologetic but when I went into the location to pick it up, there was literally no explanation, no apology, just a 'we called you'. So, they weren't gonna call me at all? Yeah, no. On my next go around, I will be going to another provider all together. Do better, PearleVision-Ferndale.

I had a terrible experience with Berkley Eyewear back in December; have written reviews and took…read morethem down because I thought they were too harsh ...they weren't. Should have left it up. No doctor on staff - just a doc who comes in once a week it seems. Have no idea what his credentials are. My glasses have never been right prescription-wise and weren't from the time I picked them up. When I expressed this the owners were really obstinate and quite rude and we had an unpleasant exchange. It's now February and I tried to wear the stupid glasses again today (that cost way too much by the way) and they still make me dizzy. Rather than going back in there and deal with the unpleasant owners, I'll go elsewhere with an eye doctor on staff and get new glasses. I also notice that any of the positive reviews on here are really old. The most recent positive one is 4 years old and that's the "newest" - the others are at least 8 years old. It was terrible experience. Go anywhere else.

My first visit was right after Dr. Chorney took over for Dr. Lyons, and while he was great, the front office staff left a little to be desired. Glad to see that changes have been made and he now has a rockstar crew in there! This was my second time back, and first time being fitted and tested for contact lenses. Dr. Chorney made sure to explain everything in a very understandable, plain manner. The staff held a "class" teach me how to put them in and took the time to make sure I was comfortable doing so myself. I had trouble with the fit of a lens and on my follow-up appointment they adjusted and ordered a different type that is perfect. they even went so far as to explain my insurance benefits to me, as I was unsure what was covered. They've earned a customer for life. Thanks everyone!!

After picking out some glasses, a staff explained what would be covered by my insurance and what I was responsible for on my end. She also asked a couple times if I had any questions with the billing side. Only thing I wasn't used to was coming back in to tell them if my contacts were okay (I've had to call in instead of going back in) but that was quick too and was able to get my contact shipped to my place. Definitely recommend A's for quick and affordable glasses!
