I placed a delivery order today around 12:30 PM from the Zebulon Walmart Supercenter (Store #4499)…read morefor delivery within 3 hours, and the experience was disappointing but not surprising. I ordered a hot rotisserie chicken, eggs, a deli Cobb salad, and several other items. There were no hot chickens available at all, which is hard to understand for an early afternoon order. I chose not to accept a refrigerated substitute. The quality control on the rest of the order was poor. One egg was missing from an 18-count carton, and the Cobb salad was already expired. This is not the first time, although I have not posted about it before. It feels like the grocery pickers for delivery and pickup orders are not shopping with any level of care. If they were, they would be opening egg cartons to check for damage and verifying expiration dates before placing items in an order. On top of that, this store regularly struggles to stay in stock on basic items. Things like Carolina Packers hot dogs, certain canned goods sizes, and even staple deli meats such as sliced Thanksgiving Day turkey have been unavailable on occasion. Compared to other nearby Walmart locations in Clayton, Smithfield, and Knightdale, this store has noticeably less selection. Consistency is what matters to shoppers. To be fair, prices are lower than competitors, and that is an important. But lower prices do not make up for poor quality control and unreliable inventory. At this point, it is hard to rely on this location for delivery without expecting issues. I have contacted the store on two previous occasions with similar complaints. One manager said she would call me back but never did.

The employee physically stopped my cart, and when I asked if it was policy to require a receipt, she said yes. I had plenty of time waiting for the manager to research your rules and found that in fact I do not need a receipt to leave the store. Once the manager finally got around to looking up whether or not I had made the purchase, he texted the lady employee who had stopped me and said I was good to go, without giving me my receipt. I feel like I was targeted because I am of Latino heritage. Contacted my attorney about this btw. Thanks for wasting my time. I've never stolen a thing in my life.

Kaw Lah Asian Market is one of those places that makes you realize sometimes the drive across town…read moreis absolutely justified. As far as I know, this is the only Southeast Asian supermarket in the area, and for anyone serious about Thai cooking, it's a goldmine. The shelves are packed with essentials -- curries, sauces, noodles, herbs both fresh and frozen, and even harder-to-find ingredients like that I honestly never expected to find locally. I was especially impressed by the variety of rice options including sticky rice and riceberry rice, plus frozen fermented crabs, meatballs, snacks, and drinks that brought back memories of browsing markets overseas. The only thing I couldn't find was Nam Pla Wan, so I still had to swing by H Mart afterward, but honestly that's a very minor complaint considering how specialized and well-stocked this place is. Also, Dora, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Western Raleigh/Cary really needed a spot like this.

We've been able to find pantry staples like different sauce mixes, curry pastes, coconut milk, rice, ramen, and even Thai Lays potato chips with all the fun flavors from home. Their frozen selection is small, but has some quality products like frozen BBQ pork buns, acasia leaves, and sweet sticky rice with banana or taro. The owner of the store is super friendly and nice. We always have the best time shopping here and discovering new things to buy. Go check them out!
