Found this place from Tiktok and it was a good time! There is a large variety of snacks, skincare, trinkets and much more. I was grateful that there were tags that translated the name of the items because sometimes you can't tell what it is from the pictures on the items. I got dumpling flavored chips, waygu flavored Pringle chips, a few drinks, matcha flavored Oreos, white peach flavored Oreos, a Yuzu drink, soy flavored Cheetos, a perfume and a few other drinks for about $33 including tax! I've only tried the chips and they were so good! The dumpling chips were so good I had to scan the QR code on the back and check Amazon to see if could get more. They remind me of Bugles and the flavor was spot on and didn't taste artificial. The perfume was very lovely and can be mastered with other scents. Even the bag that they gave to put our items in is cute! Be aware that there will be some people crossing over in the aisles but it wasn't unstable. I would definitely come back to the store and explore more food options and buy more trinkets. read more

It's a super cute store. I love seeing all the options and beauty and toys and stationary they have. It's definitely expensive but it makes sense as they'll all imported. It's definitely a fun place to just shop around it's big and has two stories. I love the giant Pikachu. The staff was super nice. They have crane machines upstairs and gotcha machines. They also had a lot of displays of the gotchas you could get which is very helpful. I definitely will come back. I saw a lot of my favorite Japanese products that I have not seen in the US before but of course it's definitely more money than it was in Japan which makes sense. I think I would give it a five Stars if the prices were cheaper but I understand with these kind of products that it's kind of normal to be higher price. read more

Stopped by this place with my partner and it was such a nice little find. They had a great variety of Asian snacks and drinks, everything we tried was tasty and fun, especially if you're into trying new flavors. The vibe was chill and the space was clean and welcoming. It's a nice spot to hang out for a bit or grab something on the go. Street parking was available, which was a plus not too hard to find a spot when we went. This is a pretty new Japanese market near NC State. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a small line out front. It wasn't too long and they brought us bottled water to help with the heat, so it was worth it. I also thought it was nice that they let in groups with little kids sooner so they didn't have to suffer too long. Once we got inside it didn't seem too crowded to me, so I wondered if the line was really necessary or a clever marketing tactic. Either way it was an interesting place to run around. There are a lot of collectibles up on the top floor as well as some claw machines. Downstairs is divided into snacks, drinks, housewares, skincare, etc. I found it a very odd mix - I understand wanting to buy some Japanese snacks but I don't know why I would want Japanese tissues or kitchen dish soap. I found a couple of things to buy - some rice cracker/nori snacks I had tried in Japan, a Badtz Maru chopstick holder and a cold coffee. If you are into Japanese culture it is a fun place to check out. I know it's new so I'm hoping that they will get a more expanded selection of goods in the future. read more

Stopped by during their soft opening and had a great experience. It's a Japanese store that's packed with all sorts of things from snacks and drinks to home goods, skincare, and small gifts. This was one of the few spots I was able to find black sesame latte powder, so I was really excited! They also have a pretty extensive aroma/diffuser section with samples set out so you can try out all the scents. For the soft opening, even though there was a long line to get in, staff were very kind and passed out cold water while we waited, which was really thoughtful. Everyone inside was friendly and helpful, and the whole space was neat and clean. They give durable, reusable shopping bags that are actually cute and sturdy. They're also super active on instagram with giveaways and discounts, so it might be worth following them if you plan on coming back. I definitely will be! read more

Visited this store and they really do have a lot of stuff- stationary, soaps, snacks, skin care, plates, toys, you name it. They also carry plenty of other Asian products which I like. The only downside is that I found some things a bit overpriced. Hopefully in the future they'll bring in even more variety. read more

Ebisu is such a cute Japanese snack and lifestyle shop! They carry a wide variety of tasty treats along with everyday essentials and fun little items that make browsing super enjoyable. The store has a bright, welcoming vibe, and it's easy to spend time just exploring the different shelves to see what unique goodies you'll find. We even noticed claw machines upstairs, which added an extra playful touch--though it would be even better if they accepted credit card payments. We had read in the newspaper about this new Japanese lifestyle store that had a line down the street on its opening day. We drove to Raleigh to check it out. There are plenty of snacks, beauty items, collectibles, etc., but unless you read Japanese, you might not know the full descriptions. We did end up getting some candy, potato chips, canned coffee and pineapple soda, not because we needed anything but just because it was fun and different. I suspect this store will remain popular with college students and Japanophiles. It was pretty busy when we visited a few weeks after the grand opening. LOVE this store! Soooo much selection for any Sanrio lover. There's also some anime and kawaii things but I was mainly there for Sanrio & beauty products. Their shampoos & conditioner works so amazing, my hair has never been softer and shining. The service is amazing, was checked out very quickly. The whole store is an absolute vibe, plus a cute reusable bag!! The arcade upstairs is fun too but sadly didn't win anything. Definitely going to be a biweekly trip for me! read more

Got here today, wanted to check out this Ebisu Life store. Also see why folks of all ages are getting in line for. The store is full of goodies. It's basically a mini mart minus the apparel stuff. Do you like Kit Kat chocolate, Sanrio noodle soup bowls, Sanrio wipes/tissues cases, many plush toys, plushies, lovies and stuffies. Upper floor is for the collectibles of action figures. I'm sure your whole family would enjoy to see what they have for a unique stocking stuffer ideas. Ambiance is delightful. read more

I stopped by Ebisu around 5pm on a Saturday, and while it was definitely busy, it was still fairly easy to navigate. The whole place instantly reminded me of my recent trip to Japan--it has such a fun and authentic vibe. The shelves are packed with unique snacks, drinks, and little treasures that make you feel like you've stepped right back into a Japanese store. This is the best place in the world! I went once with my dad on the opening day ceremony, and again 4 days later with my mom. As a weeb obsessed with Japan, I believe that the items are fairly well priced, especially the food!! I mean, it's not every day that you find 2 dollar ramune! They have some really cool keychains and figures. They even have some kawaii claw machines! The service is great, and my parents enjoyed it as well! Being from Los Angeles, Japanese goods stores like this are quite common for us, but as it seems this may be the first shop of its kind to grace the Raleigh metropolitan area and the excitement was palpable. Beautiful grand opening flowers were displayed outside welcoming everyone in with warmth. There was a short line but only bc management was considerate of maintaining comfort and order for the shoppers already inside. As I was walking up to the store, I noticed everyone coming out had a bag full of goodies. During the short wait in line a very kind gentleman came out from the store and offered everyone a bottle of water to fight the humid and hot weather of a NC summer. He was even kind enough to apologize for the wait assuring everyone that they would be entering shortly. When inside I was greeted with all the Japanese goodies your heart could desire including a variety of snacks with flavors sometimes very unique to Asia. TIP: Use your translator app to translate the details and flavors to English for yourself instead of trying to hunt someone down bc almost all of the food items are in Japanese. Lots of stationary and toys associated w Sanrio and famous anime. Stuffed animals of all sorts, chips, Kit Kat flavors galore, pens and pencils of great quality, keychains, beverages, etc. And the prices range from $1.99 to $19.99 for the items on the first floor but I assume the toys upstairs are a bit more expensive. Despite the long lines and busy store, the staff maintained order and made sure the line was directed in such a way where access to everything was possible. The staff was super friendly and kind and I can tell you all of the snacks I purchased were not only tasty, but also super fresh. Ebisu has found a new home in Raleigh and I, for one, wish them all the success in the world and hope you enjoy your visit as much as I did! I'll definitely be back! read more

I don't usually leave reviews for businesses, but after My most recent experience at this shop I feel the need to say something. Me and my two sisters wanted to go shopping for my birthday and I chose to go to Ebisu because I admire this store so much. upon arrival my younger sister stated several the workers at the front were watching us intensely. We were the only few people in the store. I just assumed they have a stealing issue so I told her to ignore it and to not let it get to her today since we are out to have fun. I assumed they would stop once they realized we didn't have any ill intentions. Soon after we noticed the same two workers continuously following us around the store and even watching us from the stairs/upstairs. They would pretend to adjust items on the shelf or to put items back while staring at us down the aisle. My sister noticed that they only showed up when we were out of their sight (which is true I noticed that too) I'm a manager in retail so I knew exactly what they were doing. A woman with dark hair walked up to the endcap right next to me adjusted some boxes and walked away. I stepped out of the aisle to look at that endcap to see if she was actually trying to do her job and fix the boxes on the shelf, the shelf still looked sloppy. I can tell the difference between a worker actually working and a worker pretending to work so they can watch someone, they were doing the latter. The same worker, a young woman with black hair tried to rudely squeeze past my sister without saying excuse me or anything, and the other worker that was watching us slipped into an aisle behind us in that same moment. It broke my heart because I like this store a lot and I don't want it to turn into something negative for me or for anyone else. we were watched around the store up until we got to the register (we were in the store for almost an hour.) I'm not sure if its a profiling issue or if the store is really suffering from a loss of merchandise but it was a very uncomfortable, disheartening and degrading experience. I was at this same location the previous week around the same time with a friend and I noticed we were being watched that day as well but I didn't say anything so we could enjoy ourselves. I really do hope they can find a better way to handle loss prevention. this can 100% scare away other customers who intend to spend a lot of money like me. I almost told everyone to put their basket down and leave. I felt a little better when I noticed how nice the woman at the register was. she was very kind to my sisters and has good customer service. Completely different from the young man and woman that made us uncomfortable around the store. they didn't even offer us any service, just watched us. It was supposed to be a nice day and those two turned it into something negative. read more
