Cucumber salad
Christianna D.

Service is kind and helpful! Chill ambiance and comfy seating. The food was good. The beef dumplings had good flavor but slightly dry and the meat to dumping ratio was off. The chicken ones were much better all around. But either way dipping them in the Mr sauce and putting some crunchy chili oil on them is sooooo good. Their fries were a nice option for my kiddo who doesn't like dumplings. They were really good too. The cucumber salad was a little sweet but not like sweet pickle sweet. Probably won't come back but not a bad experience. Still liked the food.

Chicken dumplings, chili crisp sauce, spicy cucumber salad

Small unassuming dumpling shop. Dumplings perfectly made, ample serving size with a good-sized selection of sides. Spicy cucumber salad goes well. They have several sauce options for dipping, but when I saw hot oil chili crisp, I didn't look for anything else. Friendly and helpful staff, and a bonus of hand-picked music.

The food ain't bad! The dumpling wrapper is a little doughy but the cucumber salad is amazing!!! service was quick and easy! It has a clean and spacious room for guests to sit and eat! Would go back!

Chicken dumpling

Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Food is reasonably priced and tasty. Dumplings weren't bursting with flavor but the sauces that come with the meal made up for it. We will be back to try more of the sides.

It's good dim sum for Utah. Food is decent but service is slow. We made a reservation for a party…read moreof 12, and it took around 20 minutes just to get seated (it wasn't a full house). The hostess seemed clueless when we arrived and I had to follow up with her a few times about our table. We weren't seated in the main dining room, so I had to walk back and forth to get the ladies with the carts to come over. Service eventually improved once I started talking with the staff in Chinese. Note that the restaurant advertises that they have gluten free options but most of the dishes aren't truly gluten free. The only celiac safe items are the fried rice and noodles (and there's no tamari).

Ordered the dinner for two special, first thing we got was the soups, both soups were cold and had…read morelittle flavor. The next thing to arrive was the kung Pao chicken, then the white rice. The rice was warm but the Kung Pao was cold and majority of it was veggies. Next we got the appetizer (cream cheese wantons), those were our favorite thing from the menu. They came out hot and the flavor was great! The broccoli and beef was the next dish and it was freshly made, it came out hot and was good. Not a lot of flavor but at this point we were very hungry and had no other choice but to dig in! Lastly the orange peel chicken also came out hot and it had good flavor as well. Overall the wait time for the dishes was ridiculous, only four tables were occupied. The place was slow and the service was painfully slow as well. Save your money and go to panda express for quicker service for a lot less money!

I have been daydreaming about this joint since November. I was in town for my 6 month post…read moretransplant visit at U of U so you know I had to make my way in for a meal before I headed back to Boise. We were the first ones here. I got to put my order in pretty quickly and it wasn't long till my shu mai and haw gar came out. My fried shrimp dumplings and taro cake came shortly after. I was in heaven! The dim sum here is so good! I had everything to myself since my husband doesn't really eat Chinese food. The fried shrimp dumplings are my favorite! They are crispy. The shrimp in it middle is savory and chewy. The sweet sauce it is paired with is a match made in heaven! The taro cake was hot and charry from the wok. The shu mai and haw gar were good but you can tell they were previously heated and just sitting in the warmer. They could have been hotter and the exterior could have been softer. Even though they were perfect, they were still fabulous. The service isn't the best and after my first initial visit I knew to keep my expectations low. I come here for the food and it delivers every time! I ate everything and didn't have an ounce of guilt for doing so. We don't have dim sum like this in Boise so I made sure I enjoyed and savored every bite! I look forward to coming back to SLC in a few months cause I know this joint will be on my to go list when I'm here again.

On the plus side, they had some of the better hot & sour soups I have had, and I've tasted it all…read moreover China. It's sort-of my thing. The worst of the negative side is that we were seated next to the fish tanks and just looking at them was nausea-inducing. A couple of the were full of algae and all were dirty. For the rest of it, meh. The BBQ duck was medium. Quite good flavor, but very overcooked. We also got the mixed meat & veggie pot which was not good. 80% of the "meat" was fried tofu, the rest of it was very overcooked, and it had no real flavor. The staff was extremely attentive though--and generous. They actually gave us an extra cup of hot & sour soup because we were sharing. And they gave our daughter extra fortune cookies.

Dim sum…read moreis something we don't have back in Boise so I'm trying to eat a much as I can before I head home. My daughter and I decided to try this joint out for lunch. They serve dim sum throughout the day so it was a win win situation. Most dim sum is in the morning so the fact we can have it for lunch was great. Walking in, I expected the joint to be nicer. Not necessarily top of the line but nicer. It was dull, crowded and dated. The lady behind the counter guided us to our table. We did breeze over the menu but I already knew what we wanted. We ordered a handful a handful of things. It all looked good on the menu and these were some of my favorite dishes growing up. Black bean spareribs, shu mai, haw gow, taro cake, lotus leaf sticky rice, bean curd with meat in the middle and long rice noodle with shrimp. Everything is pre made and sitting in a steamer bath. I would have been willing to wait for the dim sum to be made fresh instead of it just sitting around staying warm. Honestly, if I would have known that they were pre made, I probably wouldn't have come. The black bean spareribs were fatty and lacking black bean. The long rice noodles were already sauced so the sauce was thick and dry on the noodles already. The haw gaw was cold. The clear wrapping on the haw gow is my favorite and it was tough. The stuffed bean curd was pretty bland. The lotus leaf with sticky rice was good! It was hot and the filling was savory to the sticky rice. The shu mai was savory. The only thing that was honestly cooked cooked was the taro cake. It was actually steamed and then grilled. It was really good! I love the crunchy exterior and the soft middle. Half of the food was good and the other half was so disappointing. As dated as this joint is, I know places that look dated can produce some of the best food! I was hoping that this was going to be the case but it wasn't. Service was basic. It was uncomfortably warm inside the venue today. I'm happy I got to try it out but I don't see myself coming back for a second round.
