    My boyfriend took his car here and needed some work done on the rear. He had requested to put in new control arms in the rear of his car. When they started work on the car they drilled out the wrong bushing that was being held to the main hub of the arm. Making him pay an extra charge for their mistake. To add on to this coming to find out almost a year later, the arm they had installed was welded in with the bolt, instead of properly securing it. I do not recommend coming to this shop, they do not tell you everything that's going on. Makes you pay extra for things you didn't ask for. And will up charge you a ridiculous amount for a part, compared to how much you would pay buying it on your own. We will not be taking his car here anymore. And I do not recommend any one to trust this shop. Below is the picture of the welded bolt that was welded from the arm to the subframe of the vehicle.

    My bi-annual visit for a smog check on one of two vehicles turned out to be divine intervention! So, last evening I drove my 2007 Cadillac DTS home from a repair shop across town. It was out of service for 8 weeks after an erroneous diagnosis given by the Cadillac service department for $240. Due to the credibility of the diagnosis by a certified Cadillac mechanic, I had it towed, stored, then towed again to another repair place. Meanwhile, the $8,040 estimate was disheartening because the vehicle wouldn't Blue Book for $7K. So, I found a salvage yard in Utah that sourced a low-mileage V-8 North Star engine and shipped it to the new repair place where they installed the recycled engine for a fraction of what Cadillac quoted. Thrilled to bring my beloved Cadi home after eight weeks of driving my work truck, I head to Mr. D's for a smog check prerequisite to the Cadi registration renewal. The service Technician requests for me to pull the car up two more feet into the service bay. It won't start! Fearful that the engine change out was faulty, I panic. Not to worry. Dead battery! In no time, Ron sources the right battery, gets it installed, and I'm on my way. The best part of this is WHERE it happened. Mr. D's is equipped to handle all my needs for my Cadillac and my F-150. I am enlightened with the knowledge that this is my new one-stop vehicle service and repair. It is now my favorite neighborhood all-purpose mechanic shop.

I love the weather, the active lifestyle in my 55+ community, and the fact that Las Vegas is only about 30 minutes away, offering countless restaurants, entertainment, and services. Unfortunately, living here has also taught me another lesson: the old saying "Buyer Beware" is more relevant than ever. Over the years, I have found that many businesses--whether in medical care, auto repair, legal services, home repair, or other industries--either overcharge for their services or fail to deliver what they promise. As consumers, we often have little choice but to trust the professionals we hire, making honesty and integrity more important than ever. To me, a truly exceptional business is one that takes the time to explain what is needed, treats customers with respect, performs quality work, and charges a fair price. In other words, it follows the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would want to be treated. Imagine how much better our communities would be if every business operated that way. While companies like this seem increasingly rare, I was fortunate enough to find one recently. I took my 2002 vehicle--with only 22,000 miles--to an auto repair shop that had serviced it several times before. I requested nothing more than a routine oil change. About an hour after leaving the car, I received a phone call informing me that they had discovered major front-end damage. I was told the vehicle was unsafe to drive and that the repairs would cost between $1,800 and $1,900. The diagnosis didn't make sense. My car had never shown any symptoms of front-end problems, so I decided to seek a second opinion. I brought the vehicle to Sonny's Auto Repair at 1000 Stephanie Place, Henderson, NV 89014. From the moment I called, I noticed a difference. The receptionist greeted me warmly, listened carefully to my concerns, and assured me they would be happy to inspect the vehicle. After spending 30 years in customer service, I know how much first impressions matter, and this one was outstanding. I dropped off the car and was told there would be an $85 inspection fee. Later that day, I returned expecting to hear the worst. Instead, I received some of the best news I could have hoped for. The technician--and even the owner, Chris--carefully inspected the vehicle and found none of the damage described by the first repair shop. In fact, the only problem they discovered was that the oil filter installed during the previous oil change had been improperly fitted and was leaking oil. They corrected the problem immediately. Then came the biggest surprise of all. When I asked what I owed, I was told there would be no charge. Chris explained that the repair required very little time and that he could tell how distressed I had been over the prospect of an unnecessary and expensive repair. Think about that for a moment. How often do you encounter a business that could have charged you for an inspection, recommended unnecessary repairs, or simply taken advantage of the situation--but instead chose honesty, integrity, and compassion? Those qualities deserve to be recognized. Because of this experience, Sonny's Auto Repair has earned my trust and my future business. More importantly, they restored a little of my faith that ethical businesses still exist. In today's world, honesty and integrity are qualities worth celebrating. Jared was friendly, took the time to check everything thoroughly, and explained the findings clearly while providing a repair estimate without any pressure. Afterward, I had my wheels balanced elsewhere and the vibration completely went away, so I decided to hold off on the brake work for now. Even though I didn't move forward with the repair, I really appreciated Jared's respectful and honest approach throughout the process. It's hard to find trustworthy auto service, especially when you're from out of town, and based on my experience, I would still recommend asking for Jared if you need your car looked at.     Rear shock absorbers were replaced this past Monday. After driving away there was a loud clunking…read morenoise that wasn't there when I brought the car in. I drove my car back to the mechanic and got it looked at- he did something/not sure. I drove away again and still the clunking is there, so I went back again to the mechanic. The mechanic said- they needed to order a part and it would come in Tuesday. It's now Thursday- I can't drive my car, they won't return my messages on the phone or email. My car now has a problem that wasn't there when I first brought it there. I really just want them to contact me back and fix my car correctly.
