Went to La Loma in Castle rock for the first time last night. Was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Upon seating us they gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted to both drink and eat and the food came out so quickly we hadn't even finished the appetizer. The portions are a very good size, in fact, we had to take some home and the food I found to be quite delicious. Our hostess, Hannah was extremely helpful and helping us pick out the appropriate dishes. read more

Donuts are always perfect. My kids and I prefer the little donut holes, which are always sprinkled in your box of donuts. The owners are very sweet. Nut-free is an option if you order ahead. My neighborhood is finally perfect! As is the case with at least half the residents of Lone Tree, I moved here from Southern California. After years in SoCal, you take your doughnut shops for granted. It wasn't until we moved to Lone Tree that I realized how much I missed REAL doughnut shops. Sure, there's a Lamar's in Highlands Ranch, but their doughnuts are expensive and pretend they're gourmet, or something. Sure, there's a Krispy Kreme in Lone Tree, and regardless of how much I may love Krispy Kreme, I can't categorize them with traditional doughnuts. Krispy Kreme are their own special breed. Sometimes I just wanted a reasonably priced, authentic doughnut, and unless I wanted to drive to Denver, it just wasn't going to happen. Well, thanks to Mr. Donut, my quality of life has been improved. I went to Mr. Donut for the first time this morning. The staff is awesome. They don't speak English very well, but that's part of what makes them great! They're so happy, friendly and proud of their business. They're prime examples of people embracing what used to be the common American dream. They've come here to better their lives, are working hard, and have made Lone Tree even more awesome than it already was. I am bound to knock several years off of my life by supporting this business regularly... and I'm looking forward to it! read more
