Throughout the tasting, snacks were rolling out. A lot were made in-house (shout-out to the cheesecake)! The owner meets you where you're at with tea know-how and it's a lot of fun. I walked out with a beautiful hand-made gaiwan that I'm looking forward to using. It's difficult to find places with a traditional tea setting, and it is wonderful to have a place like this in Utah. A pleasant finding-I could either purchase the ingredients to make an omelette myself, or pay to have someone make it for me. I would have loved more mushrooms and less onions, but that's a personal preference. The atmosphere is casual and inviting-with seating both in the cafe area as well as outside along the front wall of the store. It's located in a strip mall, so it's easy to find and has plenty of shared parking out front. The panini and the fries are quite tasty. I think the most unique item is the oat cake, which is a hearty bite for sure. The soup, sadly, is not very good, which is kind of a letdown, because it's hard to do poorly with tomato soup. You're supposed to serve the soup yourself, but we weren't aware of that, and the staff was nice enough to dish it up for us! The store portion offers tons of quality healthy foods. If you're following a specific diet, just be advised to check the labels. Some items are definitely "cleaner" than others.

I saw an article in the Daily Herald about Brian and his...Macarons. I was curious but not curious enough to order some. Then I saw him selling his macarons at the Provo farmer's market. I bought two of every flavor and... Ermagerrrrd! They were SO good! Better than the ones I tries in LA and DC. Fast forward two years later...I'm still a huge fan. They just melt in my mouth after that initial satisfying crunch. Brian manages to pack so much flavor into each macaron. I often get some without knowing what kind they are and I can instantly identify what flavors they are, 99% of the time. Not like the neon colored ones you can get at Harmon's. There is *still* more selection than every other outlet, excepting the other locations I mentioned, combined, as well as a variety of flavor powders, spicy popcorn, and even snacks, along with non-hot sauce condiments, like spicy mustards or honeys or syrups. If spice is your game and you're in the area, this is an absolute must. This particular location is also the most convenient to get to. Simply walk in the front door of Locals, turn left after the checkout counter and keep walking in a straight line.
