I've been going to Mr C's for years and I've always had fantastic service. I don't give them easy jobs...they fix my wheelchair, which is a little out of the box for most bike shops, because the measurements are a little different, they need different tools etc, but the technicians here are GENIUS! They can fix ANYTHING!! If they don't have the right tool....they make one! Time and again they have solved difficult repair jobs for me. The owner Carlos, and the manager, Sandy, are really nice and make you feel welcome and comfortable, and what they don't know about bikes doesn't need to be known! I know because my repair jobs take a while, so I see lots of satisfied customers come and go and I hear them discussing bikes. I live out of the area now, but I keep coming back even tho it is far, because i just cant find the excellent knowledge, service, attention or great prices elsewhere. read more

MR. C'S CYCLES I was looking for a Thule Car Top Cargo Carrier. The Thule website listed this bike shop as a dealer. The first call to them was incredibly friendly and informative. When I went to the shop I was truly impressed. The store was beautiful. I have not really ridden seriously in 20 years but that visit made me want to get back in the saddle. Mr. C's is a very friendly and intelligent bike shop. The quality of the work is top-notch, but most importantly, the people who work there aren't the typical pretentious bike shop dudes. I've been coming to this place for over a year now. Everyone is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable with bikes. They are not interested in just selling you the most expensive products like other places, they want to give you the best. I went there to get my tire fixed and they did a good job. It popped again the next day, but they fixed it again with no charge and my bike has been great since I think of you want great quality bikes as well as awesome service come here! Wish I could give these guys more than five stars. Great products in stock...and they repeatedly went above and beyond. They provided bikes, and even worked with me to provide bike boxes for travel. They added every doo-dad and gizmo I could have needed to the bikes that I bought. And they worked quickly and efficiently. They were always responsive right away to my messages and calls. I don't really understand the pricing and selection at Mr. C's. First, there really isn't a large selection of bikes. If you're interested in a new bike and want to arrange a test ride, you'll most likely have to put down a $50 nonrefundable deposit for them to assemble the bike you want in the correct size OR test ride something in the correct size but at the polar opposite of what you want -- either very downgraded or upgraded -- then you can decide whether you want to make your original purchase from there. Either way it's far from an exact science. At the time, there were bikes downstairs that were maybe 2 years old, perfect for my size, and never purchased; but for whatever reason those were still advertised as full-price. REALLY? Service is another thing. If you buy a bike from them, they give you two years of "free" tune ups. If you don't, everything will cost you a minimum of $10 ... even if it's a 5 minute job. I don't have a chain whip and needed something literally screwed off and something new screwed on, but their mechanic didn't want to negotiate on price. So even though I was standing there, ready to go with the components in my hand, I ended up leaving, which I think is a real shame that they'd turn away a potential customer rather than concede on something as small as a few dollars. In the end, the whole experience made me just want to buy my own tool so I could do the work myself, rather than service my bike at their shop. Some time ago, another rider told me that if I needed anything I should go see these guys on 7th Avenue and they'll do right by me. I'm now pretty convinced, that he was probably talking about "On the Move," another bike shop at 400 7th Avenue Brooklyn, NY and not Mr. C's. read more

This place is terrible, I've only been here because I live a few blocks away and it's the closest if I really need a tube. First off the service is bad, they don't help you unless you're looking to buy a bike other wise you have to ask and when you do the lady who works there is really rude. The first time I came by this place I came for a tube, at the time I didn't know much and I just bought one that was the right size for my tire but the valve wasn't so I went back with my receipt and told the lady who sold me the tube that I needed one with a longer valve and that I would like to return this one. She had the nerve to tell me that they didn't carry that brand at the shop. The big guy took a look at it and allowed me to exchange it but even he said they didn't carry that brand. So what happened? Did they find that off the street and sell it to me?! I couldn't believe it. The next time I went to the shop was also for a tube, I purchased two in the right size and right valve length. I was having a friend put together a new bike for me, when I picked up the bike my friend told me both tubes i handed him were punctured but he patched it for me. Once again, unbelievable. I have been here twice. It is close to my job and since I bike to work a few times a week, I wanted to see what was around. The first time I went I wanted helmet for myself and my teenager. I was introduced to Frank. For some reason I kept on calling him Rodrigo, don't ask me why, my brain is puzzling even to myself. Frank was fantabulous. Is his name really Frank? I am no longer sure. But he took his time, helped me understand what I needed to buy, did not try to rip me off because I am clueless about all things bike. I left with two helmets and a lock. Since my teenager shot up a few inches during summer, I gave her my bike and decided to buy me a new one. I strolled in the store around 5 PM hoping to find Rodrigo/Frank and he was right there. He is the most pleasant dude ever. I returned because of him. On a Friday at 5:30 ish, he did not rush me, he made me try five bikes that I rode around the block. They were all within my price range. I was most attracted to a lovely yellow and Brown bike that I thought would rock during the approaching Fall season, he reminded that fall was just one season and that I would need a bike all year. The fashionable bike was too small for me he said. I ended up with a giant blue bike that fits me and has been comfortable. And wait for this, it was slightly cheaper that the yellow one so he really meant it. I bought a few accessories and rode home, a very happy camper. Rodrigo you rock so does Frank, if you that happens to be your name, if neither of those is your name, well you know who you are and you are awesome. Beyond excellent customer service. read more

Be very careful when you pay for something at that store!!!! They tried to fool us twice today! When I called the store in order to find out the rental prices, they said that it's $20 per 4 hours. And when we actually got there the Mexican guy said that it's $25. I don't mind paying $25 cause the bikes were really awesome. However,after questioning him why there was a difference in the price he said that it's $20...That was the first hint. Another one happened when we came back to return the bikes and pay for it. The amount was $43.35, we gave him two twenties and singles. Taking our tiredness as advantage,he put one of the twenties on the register and said that there was only one! But I was more than sure how much cash I had on me! He was trying to get another $20, but we didn't give anything to him. And then out of the blue, he just said :"You girls are good,I have it!" No apologies,nothing! We were shocked! The store is really great and I want to be back, but hopefully there won't be such terrible employees over there! read more

False advertising I called them from New Jersey about a bike they said they did not have that one but they had one very similar I went there it was not similar it was a 20 in Tire not 26 Tire waste of gas and tolls. Since Im new to biking I didnt know what was wrong with my wheel when I brough it in. I just knew it needed fixing. I told the owner. He quickly diagnosed the problem. Turns out the inner tubbing popped. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Painless experience. Will certainly come back for any future repairs. read more

Awesome service! I blew my tire out this morn on the way to work. It was 9:15am. Mr C's opens at 10am. I called them just hoping they were there. They were there, and were willing to let me in before they opened the gate. They fixed my bike in 5 minutes and I was out the door before they even opened. I have been buying bikes at MR. C for the last 25 years and now I am buying for my Grand Children...I read a few reviews about being expensive which I find not true. You GET what you PAY for. He doesn't sell JUNK bikes which you would find in every 99 cent stores. His Bikes are Top quality and very rarely needs repair. I have been taking my bikes in for alignment or minor repairs and was never charged a Penney. Mr. Cs service is AAA+ and the girl behind the counter who some complain is not friendly ,HEY give her a Break. We all wake up sometimes on the left side. I just picked up my 2017 Bianchi Intenso and couldn't be happier. Carlos had to special order it for me since they didn't have one in stock and gave me a great deal. They then bent over backwards to make sure I was completely happy with my purchase. Also a week ago, I brought in my Cannondale Caad10 for deraileur adjustments and the bike has never shifted better. The store has everything from simple bikes to the high end stuff, and if they don't have it, I'm sure they can get it. From now on this is my go to cycle shop. read more

They have a variety of bikes from normal commuter bikes to full- on race bikes. They carry a wide range of brands from such as Cannondale and Giant. The staffs are respectful and take their time to explain whatever concerns you have. You can ask for discounts and ask for ways to reduce the sticker price on their bikes. Aside from bikes, they carry all kind of accessories from bottle cages to jerseys to helmets, it is tough to find something missing from their store. I highly recommend Mr. C Cycles, go in and get a test ride a bike of your desire. (They built a bike out of the box just for me to test ride). I bought the Prodeco Electric Bike Shadow X2 from him and love it and ride it daily to and from work 26 miles round trip. Works great for the last two months. However I'm going to be trying ceramic break pads next since with all the stop and go of the city the breaks wear down fast. Not a flaw Prodeco just says Clark's ceramic Break pads are the best to use. Great selection of bicycles and accessories (at least more than I have seen at any city bicycle shop.) I am not a bicycle expert by any means, and my wife is even less so. Our experiences with the few shops we had been to never really excited us. (In a few cases, they even proved to be a little discouraging.) But Mr. C's was different. They were very accommodating, patient and willing to answer all of our questions. Even when we were not sure what to ask or look for, they provided good recommendations. The people who helped us were never pushy. They always encouraged trying things out and making sure we would be comfortable with our decision. We enjoyed shopping at our own pace and test-driving the different bicycles to find the right ones for ourselves. I think in the end we both made good choices, and I would certainly recommend Mr. C's to anyone--especially if you want a new bicycle for yourself or your family, but are not sure about the type of bicycle(s) you need. read more

First off, I've never written an online review in my life until now but really felt compelled to do so. I had a fantastic experience at Mr.C's Cycles in BK. Carlos the owner is a real guy, he grew up on the block where the shop is, he's been in business for close to 30 years. He's fair, honest and takes great pride in his business and his community. He has a loyal, very capable staff, most who have worked there for years like the main technician Carlito who's been there like 15 or 18 years and he is awesome. I got a very good deal on a great bike mainly because it was a leftover model which was perfect for me and Carlos was cool and patient as I did my research. He has a great selection with a 2nd location with just inventory down the street. He is a dealer for multiple top notch brands like Cannondale, Specialzed, Trek, etc. He's a got a great selection of everything from racks to shoes to helmets and bicycles of all levels. You know, I don't know what the lower ratings are about. The owner Carlos is as friendly as can be, and only too happy to help his customers. The selection of bikes is awesome. The shop is very professional. And it shows that the owner-presence in the store means that Carlos takes pride in what he does. I did do my research. I did know what I want. I did tell Carlos what my lowest price is. Carlos did beat my best price (And assembly included, as oppsed to my best price). I picked up my bike a week later in flawless condition. Carlos at Mr C's Cycle was amazing - he and his staff where so patient with myself and my husband - we never once felt pressured to buy - in fact quite the opposite. He let us try so many bikes and changed out the handle bars and seats to see if that made the ride seem difference. He never pushed any particular brand - and you can see why when you visit the store and see just how many bikes he keeps in stock. Not only did did we ride home with two fabulous new bikes - we came away with a lot more knowledge about bikes in general. Mr. C's is my neighborhood shop, but I think I really lucked out. I bought my bike there for commuting, and they helped me choose a bike that has been *perfect* for my needs, including some pretty arbitrary preferences. I worried at first that I'd overpaid for the bike, but looking around it seems very fair given the upgrades that they'd applied to the base model I could find online. Since I bought it, I've gone back to them about 2/3 of the time (the other third at a shop near my office, super convenient). With one exception, each trip has been exactly what I'd hope for - prompt service, clear discussion and expectations set, and I get my money's worth. The one exception was that they steered me toward a rear light that was a real dud. The first one broke within 2 days, and Mr. C replaced it, free of charge. When the second broke before I even got home, I bailed and got different lights from the place near my office. Mr. C's was very kind, I just didn't want what they were giving me. Next time I came in, they offered another replacement, so I really can't fault their service. I was just done. Finally, when I've been interested in advice or chatting about the community, it's clear that they are tapped in - that they have a lot of return customers of various skill levels and interests. I appreciate that, and those discussions have always gotten my questions answered, even when we needed to switch staff member to be good on language barriers. So: they've given good advice but that once, and I've probably bought over $1k from them over 3 years. Their service (both the people and the work on my bike) has been great. large selection of bikes , but don't expect the cool bike you saw on the manufacturer's website to be in stock . i saw A LOT of old stock here , decent stuff , but out of the 5 bikes i shortlisted after web research (and mainstream brands like trek , raleigh , specialized etc) they only had 1 . on the positive side , everyone was really nice , no annoying hipster "im way too cool to serve you" + "you dont know anything about bikes fuck off" attitude at all . the staff was very patient , my salesmen must have spent an hour with me pandering too all my dumb questions . don't know what the after sales service is like , but they gave me a 2 year service and parts warranty . free adjustments to brakes / gears etc in that time . sounds good to me . i ended up buying a cannondale six13 , bike that stopped being manufactured 3 years ago , which was super sweet and suited me just fine . a bit over my price range , but a beautiful piece . they would have scored more points if they had told me the bike was 3 years old . oh well . id recommend this place if youre not looking for a particuler model , but want to look at a wide selection and pick something out there . read more
