He test drove a larger bike then I asked if I could also try the bike. I love that one. We discussed price, security (lock types), features of each bike (An Aventon (big one) and the Velotric (folding bike), the comfort of the seats and ending up buying 2 bikes. Don is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and transparent. He took fantastic care of both of my bikes, completed the repairs quickly and efficiently, and went above and beyond to help. I live in Wilmington, and after our local Pedego shop closed, I first tried another bike shop that unfortunately wasn't a positive experience. Don's Pedego shop is now the closest authorized shop that could properly fix the issue with one of my bikes, and it was absolutely worth the drive. I shopped around and landed on them because of how much they care! They are so knowledgeable about Myrtle Beach biking and were ready to talk shop and answer all my tourist questions. I first went with a mountain bike (which rode like it was brand new!) and then changed it out for an e-bike because I was feeling lazy. I called on a Saturday, and they said they could get me in the next day. When I dropped off my bike, they said they would call to give me an estimate. I didn't hear anything on Sunday, and I left a voice message and sent a text asking for a progress update. I finally reached someone before they closed and was told that they were backed up with rentals and a few repairs before mine. I asked for a general estimate, and I was told around $75 for the rim, depending on which one they could use on my bike. Again, I was told I would get a call with the estimate. I heard nothing on Monday. They are closed on Tuesday. I heard nothing on Wednesday. Around noon on Thursday, I received a call, voicemail and text saying that my bike was ready and the invoice for about $150. I picked it up on Thursday evening, and they did a nice job. My critique is that they need to improve their communication, particularly with estimates.
