I very rarely leave reviews but I've rented bikes here a couple of times, and the quality of the bikes are A+, which is not often the case when renting bikes at beach locations. They even did delivery and pick up, super easy. They are also really helpful. I brought my own bike down just for a short weekend this weekend and I noticed my tires were low. I was nearby and hoped they would be open. He stopped what he was doing, and helped me with air and even gave me tips for how to maintain my bike. Just highly recommend. read more

Easy bike ride from Huntington Beach State Park. Aaron helped us with a variety of things. He was terrific. He adjusted the gears on my new ebike, put new pedals on my husband's old road bike, helped us with a new mirror, cell phone holder. It's apparent that he knows what he is doing. My chain came off and was stuck between the cog and the frame and I could not get it out. I went to Cyclopedia at 10am Sunday morning and they were able to fix it. They took the rear wheel off, took the chain apart and were able to free the stuck chain. They also adjusted the guard so it should not happen again. The wheel and the chain were replaced and I was on my way in 25 minutes. All this for $20. This is a great shop and they pay attention to detail. read more

My husband and I rented bikes by phone and they were delivered to Huntington Beach Campground the next morning. The bike seats were already adjusted according to our heights and we had an enjoyable riding experience. The price was reasonable and the bikes were in tiptop shape. I highly recommend! read more

I recently came back into Pawleys Island and my road bike had experienced a blowout on the rack on the trip down. Not able to ride at all until I found a replacement tire I called Cyclopedia. I dropped off the bike 11 o'clock in the morning and by 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I was, back up and rolling. The staff are terrific and paid attention to exactly what I needed. My experience here started off quite well actually, took care of my reservation over the phone the day before my vacation, rented a bike for the week and it was delivered and waiting for me by the time I arrived the next day. Went on two 20 mile bike rides without incident then on my 3rd ride in the last .5 mile of a 28 mile ride the front wheel all of a sudden failed. It was a freak occurrence no doubt, something I had never seen or experienced before, but nonetheless happened and threw me from the bike, leaving me with some lovely road rash a cracked rib and a broken Apple Watch. After I carried the bike the rest of the way home (it was unrideable). I called and left a message at the shop letting them know what happened, and that they should call me back and let me know how they wanted to proceed. Again, the call back was good, they offered to come pick up the bike and drop off another one for the duration of my stay, which they did quite promptly. The man who came to switch them out was also quite nice. Then I get a phone call from a man with a heavy Irish accent named Jack. He asked me for some details about what happened, which I recounted as best I could, having been riding the bike alone at the time. Immediately he called me a liar and said he "didn't believe me" and that something like that happening is more or less impossible. I told him I wasn't going to argue with him and asked him what he wanted from me. I hung up on him when he decided to start laughing at me, thinking I suppose, that this was funny. Jack never called me again, but today I see a charge for $84 has been taken out of my account by Cyclopedia, no explanation of the charge or repairs was given, they just went ahead and charged me what they felt like. I certainly will not be using this shop again, and I would suggest if you're reading this that you look elsewhere as well. read more

Super nice guys in the shop and very helpful. I just wish the rental bikes were better. Uncomfortable seat and very unstable ride. It would be nice to have an upgraded option or just a better bike. I felt like if I went over a bump I'd lose control. And I am used to an upright city style bike. We paid $19 or so for three hours. Not a problem with the price. read more

Dudes! Whoever thought I wouldn't notice the rusty rims and raggedy whitewall tires that replaced my original Fuji PT Cruiser rims and whitewall tires that were in excellent condition, has another guess coming. If you are from out of town DO NOT bring your bike here for a tune up! Just sayin! I am going to miss the original items that can never be replaced :/ Life goes on.... BTW the Margaritaville bike you also worked on has an atrocious brake squeal that is not what we paid for either. Overall disappointing experience. read more

I have been going to Cyclopedia for years. They repair my current bicycles and I annually take them in for a tune up. John and Chris are always polite, professional and provide excellent service. Their new facility is immaculate and loaded with new bicycles so if you are looking for a cruiser, mountain bike or something else I would check here first especially is you are local. They get some nice used bikes in there periodically too. They offer delivery as well. Tourists use them for rentals a lot and I see them in the area dropping off and picking up bikes all the time so if you need a rental this is the place to go. read more

Renting before we buy will help make the right purchase. You can park your car in their lot, rent a bike for the day and ride right from thee parking lot. Highly recommended for bike rental. This was our 2nd (3rd?) time renting from them for our week in Pawleys. We usually rent beach cruisers, one hybrid, a baby seat and a child trailer. The bikes are in good condition, the baby seat and child trailer are always clean and new looking. Ours bikes are usually delivered before we even get there and picked up the night before we leave. One easy 5 minute phone call to the guys (who are super nice and helpful) and you are all set for the week. No need to load up bikes and haul them down I-95. Save yourself the hassle and rent from these guys! read more

Nice shop in the Murrels Inlet / Litchfield / Pawleys island area. Was on vacation and the front brake on my bike seized up on the rotor. Brought it in and they were able to get it fixed enough for me to use by the next morning. Gave me their recommendations as to what I should have my LBS do when I get back to NY. Price was reasonable. It looks like they've just moved to a new location so check what you are using for directions. read more

This is the best place to rent bikes! The owner was super nice and helpful. Our bikes were delivered on time and also picked up. We didn't have to do a thing! The helmets, locks and delivery were all included in the price. He even adjusted the seats for each person's height! This company is wonderful. We have used them several times. They deliver the bikes, helmets, and locks and take them away when you wish. You can also pick them up at the store. We rented two bikes from Cyclopedia over me children's Fall Break: one was a kid's bike and one an adult's with an attachment so my 6 year-old could pedal behind her dad on a long bike trail. The folks at Cyclopedia were great! They fitted us well, changed up the bikes and attachments when they seemed not to work, and picked up the bikes from our rented condo when we were done. Rented for a week, bikes didn't fit well, tried to return after 4 days, wouldn't refund....need to be able to flex more when equipment doesn't fit well. My back couldn't take a full week of riding and so I figured I'd pay just for the days I rented. Sad that they won't ever get my business again when I return. I would have gladly come back and rented next year but just for a shorter time period of time. The nature of this business is renting to first timers and although the agreement says no refund (yes I signed it so I'm legally committed - granted) I've hardly ever not been able to have some sort of adjustment in situations like this. Don't rent for a week if your not sure it will work for you. Sadly, they wouldn't help me in this situation and I won't be back - there are too many other renters around who would gladly make this adjustment. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Cycleopedia on a recent visit to Myrtle Beach, and will definitely be back on our next trip. It is located in Pawleys Island just a bit south, but is certainly worth the trip. We were treated with the same service and attention as the more seasoned cyclists inside, although we know little about the sport other than we wanted to rent bikes for the day. The gentleman assisting us was very thorough and helpful, checking each bike to make sure it fit our needs and was comfortable for us. I also liked that he didn't try to up sale us, and showed us the most affordable bikes that would work for what we wanted. For $12 per person, we were able to rent our bikes for 3 hours, which was plenty of time to enjoy the Waccamaw Neck Bikeway, stop for a bite to eat on Murrell's Inlet, and return the bikes with a little time to spare. The price was well worth it, and the customer service was spot on. read more
