The layout features a lot of doglegs and water, and a lot of it is sneaky. You'll hit a fine shot, only to drive up and realize there is water in a spot you didn't foresee, and suddenly you've lost yet another golf ball. This isn't a course for those who like to grip it and rip it, the fairways are tight and with all the dogleg holes you'll be playing a lot of irons, hybrids, and fairway woods off the tee. Playing conditions for us in early June served up tended fairways and rough, OK tee boxes, but the greens were in dire condition on several holes. Having to putt over bare spots did not suit the tournament environment well. Also, most of the bunkers were more like waste areas than actual sand traps, resulting in some frustration. The staff were great, and elevated this experience from a 3 to a 4 for me. Rangers did not bother us, the beverage cart came around several times, and the grille staff at the turn were awesome as well as speedy. We paid a group rate, but looking at their 18 hole cost for this time of year in Myrtle seems pretty fair. The term "country club" here is pretty loose, if I had paid that rate and had this experience, it would still be a 4, 3 for course conditions, 5 for the staff.

My husband asked him a few questions and this man answered with "at this time you must be proficient to use OUR range". Not sure if that means before they allowed people to just shoot willy nilly??? No matter what he meant being polite would have resulted in four of us booking a range time and renting everything. So far the Absolute worst gun buying experience of my life!…read more I looked online for a gun I wanted to purchase. I found it in stock online at Palmetto State Armory. I went to the store to purchase the firearm. When I got to the store I was informed I had to go back home and purchase the weapon online and have it sent to the store. (not sure why i couldn't just order it through the store, it was their online store) I did just that along with an accessory to go with the firearm. The firearm and the accessory were shipped at 2 different times to different locations so I was charged shipping twice ultimately causing me to pay twice as much for the grips as I could have purchased at the store while I was there. The firearm that I ordered finally came in 10 days later. I went to the store to pick up the firearm to be informed that it had come in damaged and they had already informed the warehouse and had reordered but could not tell me how long it would take to replace.(I understand damage but a phone call would have been nice) I checked back online and noticed that the firearm was no longer in stock online. I asked the associate if they had anything comparable in stock as this item was a gift and already 10 days late, he informed me, they did not. I asked if I could cancel and get a refund and was informed I needed to call customer service when I got back home. After getting online, the store, according to the website, has a firearm that would be acceptable as a substitute. I was willing to go back to the store and purchase the other firearm however I was then told by customer service that I could not get my refund until the store had absorbed the canceled gun in stock. So now I'm out $2000 for who knows how long, the store will not "absorb" this damaged gun into inventory, that would be dumb, so it will have to be shipped back. I've made 3 trips to the store with nothing to show for it and I still have to find a retirement gift and have it personalized. Tim Irish
