What a Total watersport experience. We started with a Sailboat Ride the first day. Captain Jake…read morewas an experienced sailor and made the ride really fun and wet. He was a pleasure to talk with and had a lot of great recommendations for other activities at Downwind Sails as well as other Myrtle Beach locations. We decided to parasail on day two. I have parasailed in a lot of other destinations, but this is the most professional and safety conscious crew that still know how to make it FUN. Not to mention, you get a free banana boat ride to and from the Parasail boat. Will definitely be back for more.

We arrived at around 1:45pm hoping to be able to book for a 2pm slot and thankfully, they were super accommodating. Once we signed our waivers, we paid the parasailing fee ($98pp after tax) and the additional photo fee which was $30. After we dropped off all of our belongings at the Reservation Area, we were directed to the beach to grab our life vests. With it being Mid June, the sand was very hot but once we got to the water, we were fine. What we were unaware of was the banana boat that we had to take to get to the parasailing boat. It was definitely a pleasant surprise but a fun experience nonetheless. Once we arrived to the parasailing boat, the guys were extremely helpful and informative. They hooked us up to the harnesses and gave us a quick rundown of the rules. Parasailing was, by far, one of the most breathtaking and invigorating experiences I've ever had! I absolutely loved it and it was quite peaceful. Unfortunately, my friend did get queasy after a while so we had to cut our ride a bit short but the guys were very nice and made sure to give my friend some water until the other couple finished their ride. The rides lasted maybe 8-10 mins. If you're planning to visit Myrtle Beach or even live in the area, definitely check out Downwind Sails Watersports. There are height and weight restrictions so definitely check out their site for all the details but the staff were wonderful and the parasailing was amazing!

We learned very interesting tidbits about Georgetown, Crabs, Shrimp, the Civil War, Yawkey family, and Baruch Family. We saw 4 bald eagles and 2 alligators plus other birds like egrets and herons. We arrived an hour after departing Georgetown at North Island where you can see an abundance of oyster shells, whelk, and other shells. There is only a 3/4 mile section of beach that you are allowed to explore. There is driftwood and lots of fallen trees. The water is very brackish and not a place you would go in for a dip (or pee) so plan accordingly. You are given a little over an hour to explore and then you head back passing the Georgetown Lighthouse. Judd had some interesting things to say here too. Then you head back going by South Island and the marshes and learn about the rice Plantations that made some people very wealthy. It's interesting to learn how they flooded and drained the fields. We also learned about the Government cut for the intracoastal waterway as we headed back into town. All in all it was a nice excursion. A tad long in the uncomfortable seats but still a fine experience. Thank you to Judd for all the history and information and for Jesse finding us wildlife along the way.

There were absolutely no shells on island. Multiple boats go to this same island daily so I doubt there are ever any shells there. Would not recommend.

Wow! My husband and I decided to surprise our sons ( ages 6& 9) on a fun family weekend get away…read more Initially, I was looking to sign up with another pirate cruise company but they were booked. I am so happy we were able to reserve a spot with Blackbeard's Pirate Cruise. The staff was phenomenal (stellar customer service!)! The pirates were very convincing and stayed in character from beginning and end. There were so many fun activities to do on the boat along with face painting before the cruise. I would suggest to bring cash for drinks on the boat( water& soda) and for tipping the staff. I would definitely recommend Blackbeard's Pirate Cruise, my family and I enjoyed every minute on the cruise! We had so much fun that my 6 yo didn't want to leave lol! If you are looking for something to do with the kiddos that is unique, check out Blackbeard's Pirate Cruise.

He was a champ for his lil bro. Truthfully I loved it, who doesn't love seeing their kiddo's dreams come true. When you arrive there is parking specifically marked for the cruise. You will walk past Captain Archie's and there is a white building (small) on the left where you check in. They have pirate gear for purchase but we opted to bring our own items from home. The crew made it such a cool experience for the kids. The cruise lasted a little over an hour. The main deck is where the kiddos enjoy the pirate cruise (parents can stay to help or sit on upper deck). The kids were kept active the whole ride (cannon fights, sword fights, water gun battle, mopping deck, treasure hunt and ended with a little dance party. At the end you can purchase the photo which is inside a "case." It is $20 or $21 with a credit card. I highly recommend. Check groupon for deals. My family of four got tickets for a total of $67.
