David came out at 2AM, explained to me why my unit needed replacing and then came out the following Sunday to replace the unit! I have not seen this level of service for many years. Within just a few hours of a scheduled maintenance visit, I noticed that my home was getting unusually hot. I went into the attic to check and found that one of my HVAC units was no longer working and that water was dripping in an area where it shouldn't have been. I immediately contacted AC Works. They returned, inspected the unit, and told me that the motor had failed. When I asked what could have caused it, I was told that a power surge had blown the motor. Fortunately, I have a Ting electrical monitoring device that continuously monitors electrical activity in my home. I checked the history for the period following the technician's visit, and there was no recorded power surge. Naturally, I questioned the explanation. The unit stopped working only hours after routine maintenance, and the stated reason did not appear consistent with the information available from my electrical monitoring system. I wanted to understand what actually happened. My intention in asking questions was not simply to assign blame. If something went wrong with the system, I need to understand the actual cause so that I can prevent the same failure from happening again. If the cause really was electrical, I would want to address that. If it was mechanical or related to something else, I would want to address that instead. Giving a homeowner an accurate explanation matters because it affects what corrective action should be taken. What disappointed me most was the response when I questioned the power-surge explanation. Instead of addressing my concern with a clear technical explanation, the conversation became defensive, and I was told that I was being rude. Equipment can fail, and mistakes can happen. I can accept that. What I find much harder to accept is an explanation that doesn't appear to match the available evidence, followed by defensiveness when a customer asks reasonable questions about it. After being a customer for a couple of years, I expected transparency and a professional explanation of what actually happened. I am still interested in understanding the true cause--not only because of what happened this time, but because I want to make sure it does not happen again.

Estimated cost of repairs $7,000. That is right, not concerned about the fact that if completed this repair I would have paid Legend Air over $30,000 in just 7 years of owning a new system. Not a typo $30,000+. And he admitted when they sold me they installed an untested system that is basically garbage. Run away from these people. They sell crap and then keep charging you over and over. I was very impressed with Legend when they installed my new systems 7 years ago. They seemed to be reputable and reliable. About two months after installation, I went in the attic and found they destroyed the steps up to the unit (two steps). I left a message and never heard back. Not a big deal and I let it go (but I curse them every time I have to change filters). Last year just before the system was 6 years old this "excellent" Lennox system had to have an Evaporator Coil replaced. Cost for labor alone over $4K. And they told me I needed a Compressor Saver. I installed that also (by why was that not needed when I installed the system). Now this year they came out and what do I need - A COMPRESSOR. I have come to the conclusion they installed garbage equipment, with poor installation and sold unneeded or items that actually caused problems. To top everything off the put a sign in my yard that said I loved my A/C man. They didn't ask, just put it in my yard. I don't love them and would not recommend them. FYI - I change my filters on a regular recommended schedule, perform all maintenance and do not abuse the system. So, after 7 years I am basically replacing the entire system. I am not sure if I was a sucker to start with or they have changed, but I would STAY AWAY FROM LEGEND AIR.

I have three A/C units in my home. Two of them were approaching the 20 year mark and one had gone…read moredown twice within a year. I decided to replace the one unit and possibly both, depending on price. After looking at reviews on line, I called Choice Air Care. Chris came out, looked at our set up, and gave me a quote. I got a second quote because that is just good business practice. The quotes were competitive but I felt more comfortable with Chris than the second fellow. I decided to replace both units, inside and outside. Chris had a team there the next day, they started about 2:00 pm, and they had both units installed by 6:30 pm. They were courteous and respectful of my home and property and we were up and running in what I thought was a very short time. Both units worked perfectly but the smaller one's performance began to degrade within about two weeks and it started making a lot of noise, like an air compressor. I called Chris and he was at my door within twenty minutes. He diagnosed the problem as a slight leak in a joint that required some additional soldering. He was completely straight with me. No dancing around the issue, no shoveling bull pucky in my direction, and no trying to deflect responsibility to someone or something else. He said the install team had apparently failed to pressure test the unit or didn't do it correctly, he apologized, and made the repair. The unit was up and running within 1.5 hrs after I called him at no cost to me. Any business can appear to be a good business when things go exactly as planned but the measure of a really good business is what they do when things go wrong. These guys faced up to the problem, took responsibility, and made things right. Excellent work and I've no hesitation in recommending them.

Return in 15 mins and told me the charge was for $1087 and all they did was refill the refrigerant . I was surprised at how expensive they were but paid anyways as I hv to return to a conf call. It's unethical and unprofessional for a business to charge before speaking to the owners on what will be done and the cost associate with it. I hope the lesson I learn from this allows others to seek a more trustworthy business to perform their services.
