Mr Coco is an adorable place, with great fresh and organic cheap food!! And it's 24/7!! I love it in here! They always there for us!!

Great prices on most stuff except for the stuff you can get at a korean grocery store (i.e., kimchee, roasted seaweed packs...), although that doesn't stop me from getting the occasional jar when I'm too lazy to schleppe over to k-town.They're also cheaper than the new korean-run market that just opened up down the street. One thing I hate is that often their ready-to-eat, vegan dumplings are often on the verge of going bad (can smell the rancid oil upon opening the package). I can't get enough. Interest rose when I found out it wasn't a chain store. The one and only Mr Coco...right here in Clinton Hill. I love you, Mr Coco. But I don't live near you...what's wrong with me? Everything organic, perfect to fuel the vegetarian's wet dreams. The place is tiny but that's why it's cute. Traffic accumulates in the little aisles. (But if it weren't for almost bumping into those oranges maybe you wouldn't have realized that you wanted one?) They have meat products -- the weirdest being ostrich jerky. The prices are always reasonable. They're well organized and always in stock of everything...except one thing. They used to have these belgian waffles that were microwaveable...where they have the frozen food section. They've stopped stocking them... ...but i still love Mr Coco. Friendly staff. Sushi. All types of tea and gourmet snacks. Beautiful canned and packaged food that is also healthy for you. And did I mention they're 24 hours? I will be buried underneath Mr Coco. read more

I just bought romaine, a cucumber a tomato strawberries, some peaches, spinach, broccoli and oranges all for less than 10$ I love this place the produce is so low cost and it's local. They sell mainly produce, stuff to drink and a few non perishables also a few household goods it's kinda like a bodega except their main source of product here is produce. A lot of the produce on display outside tends to not be as fresh and because of that the prices are generally lower. There are only two registers and because of that.. sometimes there is a line.. it goes fast though. They have a lot of Asian snacks and candies and they also sell sushi. They have coffee and ice cream too. It's a nice little stop to get fruits and veggies on the way home...a lot of organic and vegan staples here too. read more

I wanted to adore Mr. Coco, honestly but compared to Mr. Mango, it just doesn't match up. Yes, you have a pretty good selection of produce and the price is good for the area but otherwise it is basically a bodega that also sells sushi. If you need something last minute, if you only need one or two things, awesome... but if you have a grocery list, Mr. Mango is where it's at. read more

Good store except they try to get you by mis-totaling your bill. I've seen it happen to someone else ($25 charge for what actually cost $11) and it's happened to me twice. Luckily, I was able to catch it today while at the register. The guy said to me it was $11.71 when all I got were 2 boxes of strawberries ($1 each), an avocado ($1), a bag of regular bananas ($0.79/pound) and 1 orange pepper (3 for a dollar so $0.33). I knew something was off. He rung it up again and it came to $5 something. As he was ringing it up he and a lady were speaking in Korean, obviously about the exchange that had just occurred. Body language and tone made me feel I was being cheap or something. I also didn't get a "sorry" or any apology from him. I believe customer service and honesty is most important. What I've noticed here is the employees do not consider those things important. They end up making a few dollars extra on just about every customer, I'm sure. What a sneaky practice! read more

I love this neighborhood deli. It's more than a deli and it's amazing that it's open 24 hours. I would normally give this place 5 stars, but I noticed my favorite cash register lady (Kelly) is gone! She used to be there all the time, but I don't know where she is now. It's hard to find friendly staff at a place like a deli, which made each experience very nice for me. I used to come here for the familiar face and great service from her. I hope she comes back to the neighborhood. read more

Love this store. Unfortunately they have not adapted to the current covid-19 crisis well. I'm a long time fan and patron of Mr. Kiwi, Mr. Mango, Mr. coco, and Mr. Melon. I wish I could continue to support during this time. But if your store is small, it seems necessary to create a line outside rather than crowds inside. People love your store, and it seems they are willing to brave the 20 people packed in a tiny store in order to shop there. It's a problem. I know staffing is an issue. But instead of two cashiers, perhaps there is one cashier and one line regulator outside. The line inside will naturally be shorter. This is a mini-version of what Trader Joe's is doing. Long line outside, no line inside. Also, many stores are requiring masks now. Not mr. Coco. It's unfortunate. I cannot go there during this time unless something changes. Mr. Mango is a similar situation, but bigger store. Note: They are on Postmates, but delivery fee is 10 bucks unfortunately. Then Postmates will charge you a percentage service fee (without warning you), and then of course you have to tip well. I would not recommend this. read more

Because I pass by this place pretty much every day, I usually only buy the super cheap produce on an as-needed basis -- and everything works out fine. Also, they have un-labeled fig bars above the ice cream freezer that are seriously delicious. read more

Mr. Coco has all of the specialty, organic, vegan and related food products you might need, and for a pretty decent price. Their produce is always competitively priced and looks great - that's what I mainly come for. This location is a bit tight and small, which isn't the best for larger bodied people and differently abled people. I noticed this when a really tall gentleman had to squeeze his way through the aisles and an older woman with a walker had the hardest time near the cashier, with all the boxes and random product on the floor. My only suggestion would be to make the tiny grocery more accessible for these folks who want healthy food too! Otherwise, Mr. Coco is solid! read more

It always makes me dig into my pocket for the last few singles and see what healthy alternative I can come up with for my next meal. I think Mr. Coco's is a good option in the neighborhood, but I wish they had more organic produce. If they did I would shop here all the time. I feel like if you don't care about stuff being organic and you're going to eat the produce you buy from them right away, then I think it's a good spot. But I also feel like with their produce, you get what you pay for and it goes bad pretty quickly. I remember a long time ago I used to buy strawberries from them for $1 and then 1/4 of the carton would go bad and I wouldn't care because they were only $1, but if I think about it now, that doesn't sound like very healthy strawberries. read more

Mr. Coco's Grocery is spectacular!! The staff is extraordinary, the selection is perfect and they're always open--really couldn't ask for more from a grocery store! When visiting, every family member just has stop in and pick up bags full of their favorite items--and friends in Bklyn do the same whenever they come to the neighborhood. I love Mr Coco, it's a nice one mile walk/exercise for me which has never been a deterrent. I mainly go there to buy fruit and veggies as they always have ridiculously low prices. Basically, they keep prices low and turn over a large volume (the Mexican guy there is pretty much working non-stop all day!). They move more produce than the local Associates Supermarket which is quite impressive for hole in a wall place. In addition, they got some craft beers, kimchi, small selection of packaged cheeses and sushi rolls. And those of you European candy lovers, they have bounty, mars and kinder chocolate! read more

Okay, for all intents and purposes Mr. Coco is a very very good bodega. Clean, well-kept, good selection...and half the staff are friendly as can be. HOWEVER (thus the three stars) there are a couple of angry asian dudes who work there and make their anger known. I dropped one of those Kombocha teas, which made a nice fizzy explosion, and though I offered to pay for it and apologized profusely, this one acne-d kid shoved me aside with an evil glare that said, you stupid clumsy MONKEY. Cause I know that's what Asians think of white people when they're really angry. That we're all a bunch of clumsy monkeys. Which is what I felt like when I loped out of there, scratching my armpit. They gave me another Kombocha, though, so, um, visit Mr. Coco. You'll probably have a good experience. read more

Fresh veggies and fruit that are amazing !!! How can you go wrong... Some people on here write that they go bad quickly - but we should be shopping to eat every few days so that we are eating healthy and fresh! I'm find stopping by after work and grabbing the veggie part of the meal - and some fruit for the next days snack. read more

The fruit here is excellent. It is my preferred place in the neighborhood for good fruit. I have not gone wrong yet. Everything always looks its best and is in season. Their produce is really good and they have a selection of things that are useful. Staff are friendly and it's clean. Mr Coco has AMAZING prices on fresh fruit and veggies. Do they go bad quickly? Depending on what you get and how it looks when you buy it. You have to actually pick up the produce and make sure it's in good shape when you buy it. But it's nearly the "Everything's A Dollar" of produce. It cuts our grocery bill massively and lets us eat our more. Fair warning though- going at peak hours (after work, etc) you'll run into a heck of a line. They knock the line out quickly, but the line is there for a reason- this place is a gem. We shop there twice a week or so and won't be slowing any time soon! Addendum: It's open 24:7! read more

Mr. Coco might be the main reason I decided not to move out of Clinton Hill. So long has the area been deprived of a quality market that I was beginning to lose faith that one day IT SHALL COME. The staff is super friendly, the produce is fresh and even the coffee is decent. Plus their prices are suited for the neighborhood, not elevated Williamsburg/Park Slope prices (blueberries for $1.00 that don't look genetically modified.) They even have Angostura Bitters. So this place opened up last year around the corner from me and I'm SO glad it did. Before I go to the supermarket, I stop here because they always have some kind of cheap produce that is usually very fresh. They also have all kinds of random unique health food items that I would normally have to ride out to Whole Foods for. The 24 hour thing is just a super blessing when I'm not getting home from work until midnight and have a craving. They lost a star for me because as much as I love the day staff, the old Asian guy who works there at night is unpleasant and accused my mom of trying to take inside regular priced broccoli and pass it for the sale broccoli that was outside. Mr. Coco's is terrific because they sell fresh produce incredibly cheaply. That's basically it. The store is a bit on the small side, and when it's crowded (and it's often crowded) it can be difficult to move around, but it's still worth it because of the quality and price of their fruits and vegetables. read more

I don't know why I did not go here more often. If you pass by, check out what fruits and vegetables they have out front. On occasion, you can score a box of strawberries or blackberries for $1! I even bought two pineapples for $3, which was a steal. The have eco-friendly products and a lot of options for vegetarians. You can't help but love this place, especially since it is open 24/7! Mr. Coco's is actually expensive overall. Its not affordable for many of our long time Clinton Hill neighbors. While there are some bargains there, the majority of items are up there in price (1 apple can cost a dollar). I do appreciate that it is always clean and that it is always open. read more
