Terrible terrible scheduling and communication. Terrible. I had high hopes for this. Yan was first so accommodating that he said a cleaner will come at 5pm as per my request. Then, last minute cancellation cz the cleaner was sick he said. Then he said 9am the next day. I confirmed. I did not check my email (although I did leave my phone #) but Yan said if its possible to resked again to 10:30am instead of 9am. I replied only late at night. I had no computer access. I called in the morning at 8am, 9am , 10am on that day. I emailed, tweeted -- no reply. Is the cleaner in my house? What is my schedule? Will the cleaner ever show up? About half a year ago I used Mr Clean's service for the first time. Everything went smoothly, the confirmation, the prompt arrival of the cleaner. Everything! A few months later because of the service we decided to schedule another appointment. The service and scheduling again seemed very commendable - Yan offered us a discount for being repeat customers and set up the appointment for the following weekend. THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT NO ONE SHOWS UP. My roommate who set aside her entire day waited and waited at the apt. We received no phone call, no form of contact for an explanation. Over the course of the following week we left over 5 voicemails asking for an explanation and a reschedule, and finally Yan returned a call. He explained that there was a system failure, and he was happy to reschedule for a free cleaning service. Great, so we reschedule and confirmed the Saturday appointment (today) on Wednesday. Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. The cleaner is now nearly AN HOUR LATE, and no one has answered my phone calls. I've sent text messages to Yan's cell, called the business line and left voicemails, still nothing. Words cannot truly express my frustration as we scheduled this cleaning in hopes of having a nice and tidy apt for a party we're hosting this weekend. I bought a 3 hour cleaning on Urban Daddy. I called a few times to schedule and there was no answer. I left an e-mail and they got back to me a week and a half later. When I managed to communicate with them I scheduled a Saturday appointment. When I called to confirm they asked me if it was possible to re-schedule. I told them it took me a few weeks to make this appointment so I would like to keep my original date. One the date of appointment - NO SHOW. They didn't even call to let me know. A week later I rescheduled the cleaning for Monday at 6pm. Monday at 3pm they contact me if it's possible to start now. Unfortunately, I told them no since I work until 5:30pm. They cancelled again. I reschedule for the next day at 6pm. I get a text from the cleaner at 4pm that she's at my building. I texted that I scheduled for 6pm. When I arrived at 5pm at my building she was sleeping on the couch in my building lobby. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I scheduled for a 3 hour clean and she told me within an hour and half she was done. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They stole my money and did not clean my apartment. No one has returned my phone calls or emails for over a week now. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY. There are far too many companies out there to risk using this one. I attempted to buy a Groupon for $65 and contacted the company prior to buying to make sure they could give me an appointment within a week. At that time I was advised by "Yan Nygren" not to buy the Groupon but instead to go directly through them and they would give me a $99 Deep Clean Move In special for 3-4 hours of cleaning using their products. The emails were very courteous and thorough so it all seemed totally legitimate. The cleaner showed up over an hour late and when she did she was very sick with a flu. She did an acceptable surface clean of the bathroom and kitchen and living room. She cleaned most of the oven at my strong request although it was by no means thorough and she didn't touch the broiler. I had to insist that she clean the windows and help her with them, also providing the cleaning product and paper towels. She did not clean the bedroom at all. DEEP CLEANING??? I called the company to dispute the services before she left my apartment and there was no answer. I asked her to try calling from her cell phone and she refused stating that Yan was in Los Angeles and it was too early to call from the east coast. I've now emailed and called for over a week and there's been no answer or response. I did manage to get a hold of the cleaning person on her cell phone and she told me she no longer works for the company and couldn't provide any other information. This is the person I believe I was emailing with originally: Yan Nygren Mr.Clean's Cleaning Service 718-218-4498 This company is a complete scam. It is my belief that the positive Yelp reviews here have been generated by the company themselves or the company has recently changed ownership or something. Take note that the recent reviews are all negative. Something has gone wrong at this company. I wouldn't be surprised if they disappear altogether in the coming weeks. I have no desire to ruin a legitimate business but I don't want anyone else to get scammed by this company. It's the worse feeling. If this was a real company they would have returned a phone call by now to explain and apologize, regardless of offering me a complete refund which is the right thing to do. read more

Unreliable. I made an appointment approximately one month out for the day before I was to leave town to return with someone undergoing a major sinus surgery. The purpose of the cleaning was for the safety of the person who would be post-op upon my return. This company called me to cancel with less than 24 hours notice the day prior to my appointment. They offered nothing -- no suggestion of another company, no discounted reschedule upon my return to town, nothing. They put someone in physical danger by leaving me completely in the lurch with no time to schedule an appointment with another company. If I requested and paid for the COMPLEX cleaning, I wouldn't have to come back home and clean after the person that just left. Dusting was not done as promise, the person spent 2.5 hrs in the kitchen (which wasn't impressive at all) he rushed through the entire place in 30 min and left ( I only have a small apartment). And as he was leaving, he had the nerve to ask me for a cigarette!!! I didn't want to leave a bad review, so I wrote and email to them, but haven't heard from them. Yan booked my appointment quickly. Booked due to the great reviews and used an Amazon local deal. Felt that the women was nice however I would not use this service again. When she was done prior to the 3 hours ending the shower curtain was still wrapped around the pole, rug in bedroom rolled up, books from my night stand laying on my bed rather than back in place, dresser top was disheveled from dusting. Wow what an impeccable job!!! I was shocked because it was a tough cleaning job and boy did she work miracles. I needed some serious deep cleaning, the kitchen, bathroom and rooms to get my deposit back. After purchasing the voucher, the owner was great in communicating with me the entire time. I'm very satisfied with the owner's customer service and phenomenal job the lady did. The voucher price was a steal but they are worth every penny if I were to pay full price. The appointment was easy to make. My cleaner did a nice job (better than other companies i tried that cost more $), he brought his own supplies and was pleasant. Will be asking them to come back. The only reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is I expect a 1 bedroom to be spotless after 3 hours (our apartment was in okay condition). The apt was very tidy, but some areas were still missed. This isn't a poor reflection of mr. clean (it was better than most other NYC companies we tried) but it makes me wonder how my parent's suburban housekeeper does it all so quickly and throughly! read more

I joined Yelp just now to particularly single out extraordinary service and response by Yan and his team. The circumstance - my mom was landing at JFK from LA on Tuesday. I emailed Yan on Sunday, and obviously didn't expect that he would have any cleaners available on short notice, and he told me just as much. BUT: he contacted me within a few hours with one of his best cleaning ladies for Tuesday, just before my mom landed. To say that cleaning was thorough and impeccable would be an understatement! Every corner was dusted and we didn't feel rushed at all! Cleaning was finished in the nick of time, and I could bring my mom to a clean house. Quality of cleaning was way above par, and impressive on every measure. The service, I just haven't seen this level of personal attention by a cleaning service provider, ANYWHERE in Manhattan! Best cleaning service I have had in NYC. Made a last minute appointment for an apartment in Queens and got a booking for next day morning immediately on a Sunday. Super accommodative which is rare to find. The person I got was Yan. Yan obviously did a great job, I had nothing to pick from at the end and the best part is that the price (for $60 for two hours) is unbeatable. Will definitely come back again. This is the worst experience I ever had with a cleaning service. I agree with Ascenza M. I came by this cleaning service about 2 months ago from an Amazon local deal. I tried to call week after week but it went to voicemail or just kept ringing. I decide to email and Yan responded that it was due to the overwhelming response from the Amazon coupon no one ever picks up. I mean NEVER? i called throughout the day over a series of weeks and I NEVER reached someone. I schedule a cleaning through email for two weeks ago. Day of. I'm waiting. waiting. Waiting. No one is here. I send an email. Yan calls me back saying "I don't know where the cleaner is I think she is stuck under the subway, last time I talked to her she said she was on her way. I can come instead." First thing I think is. "if she is on her way why would you come instead." I said forget it we will reschedule. Today was supposed to be the day 11 am. at 10:50 he texts me. Sorry i woke up sick we need to reschedule. By this time I had I told him no, just expect a bad review coming your way. At this time Yan tries to say I can be over here at 12pm. I tell him don't waste your time if you're sick. He says is there anything I can do to spare a bad review can't i just come and we put this all behind us. I tell him it's way too late for that. I called four times, left two voicemails and have received no contact in return. 15-20 min late in NYC is no big deal, I could have even accepted up to an hour late as I work from home and mentioned that when I set up the appointment. Nearly 2 HOURS late with no contact??? That is just unacceptable. I called an 800 number provided on the website and the Facebook page and was told to call the 718 number. When I mentioned that I HAD called several times and that they were now three hours late the person on the other end of the phone said they would call and have someone get back to me. An hour later I had still not heard anything back. That is absolutely unacceptable customer service. Absolutely would not recommend them! I should have known from the initial contact when I left a message on the answering machine and two days later l did not receive a phone call back. I called again, left another message and then finally got a call back. I set up my appt 3+ weeks in advance bc I had company coming in. The day before I did not get a confirmation call, so I called Mr. Clean's again. Appt was confirmed for 9AM the next day and I asked for the cleaner's name, after a fumble I was given a name. A while later, I got a call from Mr. Clean's to see if the cleaner could start at 8AM instead of 9AM because it would work better for them. I said no bc our co-op does not permit working staff in the building until 9AM - co-op rule. The next day, the cleaner was a no show. I called Mr. Clean's at 9:30AM and left a message at the 718# and also on the owner's cell #. I proceed to call again at 10:00AM, 10:30AM and then my last call at 11:00AM - leaving voice mail messages at both the 718# and on the owner's cell#. At 11:30AM, I called Amazon Local and got a refund for my voucher - $45 for 3 hours of cleaning. Meanwhile, I am cleaning my apt for my company's arrival in 3 hours. Finally about 12:45pm, the owner called me and said he did not know what happened to the cleaner and why she was a no show. You would think as an owner you would have an employee check in with you at the start of the day and know where she is and where she is suppose to be, or if the employee didn't check in with you that AM then you would know there is a problem and contact the person that is expecting you. Or perhaps as an owner you would have your cell phone on to field problem related matters/emergencies. Having your cellphone off during business hours while you are running a company is poor business. What if an employee got hurt on the job - wouldn't the owner want to know about it? Anyway, the point is this business leaves a lot to be desired. The absolute disgust of a no show employee without any communication and "just a leave a message on the answering machine and we will get back to you whenever" mentality is not someone I want to hire or do business with.
