Moving to Deltona from Winter Park, we noticed there wasn't a diverse type of restaurants here. Located in the Deltona Plaza, Mr. Chef Indian Cuisine opened today, April 17th, 2024. We love good Indian food and had to try it out! You can call into order or order directly on their website. Ordering on their website is an absolute breeze. The menu is very easy to read and understand and it is laid out in a very aesthetically pleasing manner. The prices are what I would except and very in line with food in this area. It's definitely pricing that I would expect from an Indian Restaurant. I placed my order online for paneer, butter, masala, butter chicken, butter naan, and garlic green chili naan. Next to the butter chicken, I asked for it to be spicy. The website said that it would be ready in 30 minutes. About 15 minutes or so after ordering, we were packing up to leave the house when I received a call stating the food was done. Upon arriving, the restaurant was easy to see in the plaza as it has a large red sign. It is on the far right side of the plaza. I went inside to retrieve my order. The inside is very clean and modern. The lady behind the counter was very nice and the service was quick. The food smelled divine! I couldn't wait to dive in after opening it! Everything was so delicious! The butter chicken had spice, like we asked for. It had great flavor. Both of the naan's were delicious. The garlic green chili one definitely has some heat behind it - the flavor is amazing. The paneer butter masala was very mild in spice but incredibly flavorful. I'm so happy that Deltona has an Indian Restaurant now and even more excited that the food is so delicious! We'll definitely be back! read more

I enjoy their food, as always. However, with the main dishes, although the food is tasty (i.e, the sauce and the meat), veggies are completely lacking. Each dish should have peppers, onions, etc available as a choice. read more

Excellent Indian food in Deltona!! A much needed presence in this community where we lack a lot of variety in cuisine. I've dined with Mr. Chef twice now. Once to-go and once dine-in and I've been impressed each time. The food is delicious and portions generous. The pricing is great especially considering I get two servings from one meal. The portion is enough to eat dinner and have lunch next day. That's great especially in the current economy. The service each time has been excellent as well. You can tell it's a family run business and they care deeply about making this restaurant shine. I plan to continue coming back and I'm really hoping the rest of Deltona and the surrounding areas get wise to this place because they really deserve to thrive. read more

I picked up dinner from Mr Chef Indian Cuisine tonight. I am thrilled to finally have Indian food nearby! The place I love in is Altamonte Springs which is too far to drive when you have a craving. I placed the order via their website with no issues and they even called me to let me know my food was ready early! I ordered Mango Lassi and Tikki Massala. I'm a wimp when it comes to heat and it was perfect for me. The Mango Lassi was quite tasty. Of course you can't have Indian without Naan bread which was perfect! I will definitely be back, probably more than I should. Check out the latest new small business in Deltona! It's great to see all the new independent places opening. Very solid Indian cuisine. We have been several times and will keep coming back. We've ever style and each dish has been very good.

The food was great and the service was even better. The staff were very friendly and helped me navigate the menu as I'm a novice to Indian cuisine. My family and I got the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Marsala (med spice). It was perfect. FYI- don't sleep on the Garlic Naan. One order is perfect for 2 to 4 people. Went for the first time with my 17 yo who ever had Indian cuisine and my 4 year old who definitely didn't. They went out of their way to make him things the way he likes it and introduce new food (butter chicken) for him. They even made mixed vegetable rice that they don't have on a menu so he can eat and he loved it! My 17 yo daughter had curry for the first time and she was excited about and said she would come back for more. I had curry as well as spices I can get it and I was pleased with my meal. We also had an order of garlic naan bread and it was extremely good. Wait staff was very pleasant and everyone checked up on us often and was very friendly. Thank you we will be back. First off, I am so glad there is an Indian restaurant close by in the west side of Volusia. I always compare the food to my favorite in the area Royal Rasoi to get a baseline. The food is good at Mr. Chef, with the flavors milder than my goto in Lake Mary. I'll be back for sure but give this one a 4 star when compared. Still very tasty though. read more

I was super excited to see that this location was under construction, since there is no decent Indian food in the area. When I dropped my dry cleaning off the other day, I was pleased to see that Mr. Chef was open. I ordered takeout this evening. The staff were super friendly, and the ambiance was relaxing. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready to go. The chicken vindaloo was perfectly flavored, and the naan bread basket was tremendous. I can't wait to try out more of the menu! read more

So excited to have a place like this in Deltona! The service was super speedy and the staff were super helpful with the menu. We got the tikka naan as an appetizer and it was so delicious and hot like it just came out of the oven. I got butter chicken level medium (I would def do spice level mild next time the medium was a little too spicy for me) My husband got the tikka masala spice level hot and he said it was super flavorful and had a good amount of heat. We also shared a garlic naan and it was so fresh and delicious. Mr Chef is fairly new to Deltona and when they announced their arrival, many people poo-poo'd an Indian restaurant without even stepping foot in there. They said it would never take off. Well, THANK GOD, they were WRONG! Mr. Chef is FANTASTIC! We had dinner there. I had Butter Chicken & my husband had the Phaal Curry. WOW! We have a favorite Indian restaurant miles away, but Mr. Chef is now our "go-to" for Indian food! We had the Onion Pakoda and the Vegetable Pakoda as well as Butter Naan bread and Garlic Naan bread. My husband is British, so he knows all about curry. Well, HE said this was THE BEST curry he ever had! And I agree! Both entrées came with the most tender Basmati Rice! We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces and STILL took a container of left-overs home.
