    Chicken Amwala

I was working around the area and found this place in Yelp. Went in and got a table, asked the very polite server which chicken entree he would recommend, he replied "with or without curry", and I chose with, of course. He recommended the chicken with mango curry (Chicken Amwala in the menu). Omg... it was so delicious... This was the best Indian food I've had in my life. I would eat the mango curry every day if I could. Crazy good. The restaurant is so far from my home, but I will drive to eat here again. As a bonus, the place is super neat and clean, service was great, everyone smiling, not a single bad note.

Spectacular spectacular Indian fare with exemplary hospitality. Who knew this would could ever be a thing? In the new wing of the old Winn Dixie plaza, really? There's serious eats here that make so many others look and feel and taste like they're calling it in. I mean I don't know how they're doing it, but they do it. And that's all that matters. I went in thinking this would be mid at best on a curious yelpie foodie adventure and now I'm rethinking whether or not my favorite Indian place is as good. They're that good.

Went out for dinner after prepping for a conference. A little hesitant to go to an Indian restaurant in Deltona but don't be fooled, they know what they're doing. In this small restaurant their dishes packs a punch. The goat chettinadu was surprisingly different from anything I've tasted. Seems like they had southern Indian/kerala regional dishes. Great place to stop if you're craving Indian cuisine!!

Food is so delicious one of the best hidden spots in deltona be here around 2 years but I believe a lot of people are messing out of they have never been. Great staff and the music is peaceful

We wanted something different and found this gem. Great service and great food. Would definitely return.

The staff was very friendly. Dont be fooled by the strip mall it's located in - The interior is gorgeous! I ordered Madras Chicken and Chili chicken, along with some garlic bread to go. The food was so fresh and hot. The flavor was WONDERFUL! I will definitely be back.

Great food and great service. The space is small, with some tables outside, but the flavors have no limit. I ordered several things, two curries, a chicken biriyani, samosas and garlic naan. It was a nice meal, and thankfully the flavors and quality were all present. The weakest point was the dessert, but since the food was great, I am not taking it into account. Please read the menu before coming, take this as a friendly tip.

This place is amazing! From the wonderful server to the awesome food! The Phaal was delicious it was not spicy enough for me so they brought out minced habaneros. The server was so sociable and welcoming! Everything I ordered I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The Naan was so soft and delicious and the butter sauce on the side was omg. They samosas and the sauces I cannot say enough! The masala and Phaal were so delicious The place has limited seating but it was not loud it was a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back. I cannot wait to try the other foods.

The food was so amazing and the service was so nice. It was my best friend and i's friendaversary, and we were both craving some good indian food, this place did NOT disappoint. we stayed for a while eating, talking, and drinking tea. even the next day the left over food was just so good and flavorful, we will definitely be going back!

This is a local gem. The food is Authentic Indian cuisine, with good service, and excellent food. My favorite dish, by far, is the Butter Chicken. You just can't go wrong! The garlic naan pairs perfectly and the medium spice level is more than enough for my spicy-food-loving palate. The chicken tandoori is also pretty good.

The restaurant was cute and had a really good vibe to it. I called and placed an order for pick up but it seemed my order wasn't started until I arrived so I ended up sitting in the restaurant for about 20 minutes waiting for my food. The food being served smelled great, but my food didn't taste as good as it smelled. I prefer The Great Indian Kitchen in DeLand. 3 stars because of the long wait and disappointment with food.

The only thing that wasn't what we thought was the lychee martinis. There were no lychee's but the pour was strong. We ordered some mango juice and it made it good! All the food was fresh and flavorful. Everything came out hot. The best naan we've ever tasted. We had to order two baskets! Tried the chili fried corn! OMG we have never tasted anything like it. It's hard to explain! The vibe and decor is everything!! Me and my daughter were grooving in our chairs the whole time enjoying the food and their cultural music. I may not know the name of everything I ate, but I do know that it was all absolutely delicious. They were clearly working with a small staff for a very busy lunch crowd, but they did a wonderful job keeping everything stocked, clean, and running smoothly. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, which always makes the experience even better. The variety really stood out. There was a great salad selection, fresh fruit, and several desserts to choose from. On the hot bar were multiple dishes including veggie samosas, butter chicken, a few different curries, warm naan, and a green paneer dish (likely palak paneer) that was especially good. One of my favorite bites was a rich, creamy korma, and the rice pudding (kheer) was the perfect way to finish the meal. This wasn't our first time dining here, and it's been consistently very good every visit. If you're looking for a flavorful, satisfying Indian lunch with plenty of options, this buffet is definitely worth it. We'll absolutely be back.

I recently visited Ammrit Indian Cuisine and had an overall positive experience. It's easy to see…read morewhy it's popular in the area. The menu offers a wide range of traditional Indian dishes, and I really appreciate that they allow you to customize the spice level to your preference. That makes it accessible whether you're new to Indian food or someone who enjoys a little heat. The daily lunch buffet is also a big plus, especially if you want to sample different dishes in one visit. The food itself is good and well-prepared, with solid flavors and generous portions. That said, it does feel like the kitchen leans toward catering to the general market. The spice profiles are toned down, and while that makes the dishes approachable, it slightly softens the authenticity you might expect from a more traditional Indian restaurant. One subtle indicator of that broader appeal is the wine list -- something you don't often see emphasized in more classic, traditional Indian establishments. That being said, Ammrit strikes a reasonable balance. It offers familiar, comfortable Indian cuisine that works well for a wide audience while still delivering recognizable flavors and quality ingredients. If you're looking for dependable Indian food in South Daytona with flexible spice options and a welcoming atmosphere, it's definitely worth a visit.

The consistently high ratings led me here for lunch and I was not disappointed. The interiors are tastefully modern and welcoming, with plenty of seating and pleasant decor. I started off with the mango lassi (4/5) which was delightfully refreshing without being too sweet. For meals, we went with the paneer makhani (4.5/5), chole bhature (5/5), vegetable malabari (5.5), and butter naan (4.5/5). All the meals were delicious and prepared using high quality ingredients, with no weak spots. I'd rank Bombay Street Kitchen among the top 2 Indian restaurants I've been to in the state (most Indian restaurants I've been to in Florida have been pretty underwhelming and average). Happy to round up my overall rating as service (5/5) was quick and friendly. I look forward to returning to Bombay Street Kitchen and would recommend them to others looking for delicious Indian food in Orlando.

The Lamb Kabobs were excessively oily and badly overcooked. The Bhuna Gosht was mostly bones and fat, and the meat itself was chewy and clearly not properly marinated or slow-cooked to tenderness. The Chicken Chettinad was equally disappointing -- chewy chicken with poor meat quality and lacking authentic flavor. The only highlights of the evening were the cocktails and the Kale Chaat, which were both actually very good. What's most surprising is seeing this restaurant associated with the Michelin Guide despite such inconsistent and substandard food execution. Based on our experience, the kitchen quality simply did not justify the hype or pricing. Ambiance is nice. Good lighting, classy looking tables, some nice, chill Indian music playing softly in the background. Good stuff. Service was good. Our server was very friendly and did his best to answer our questions. We needed some allergy friendly food, and there were a few questions where he just didn't know and made a best guest. That's fair, I guess, but that just needs to be better. Food came out timely and nice and hot, the tandoori chicken sizzling up a storm. Now for the food. I started off by getting a Vegetarian Special Appetizer (A combination platter with samosa, aloo tikki, onion bhajiya, mixed pakoras and chili pakoras) for the table. These are always fun, because you don't always know what you're eating. Samosas are always wonderful, and the onion bhajiya is like a better latke. Get this if you like to sample things. Then I had a Lamb Biryani (Lamb and basmati rice cooked with saffron and spices, garnished with cilantro, nuts and raisins). If you're a biryani fan, I'd probably pass on this one. Not a great example of biryani. Very little saffron and other garnishes. There are other great things on this menu. Of course, I had to get some Garlic Naan (Light bread made with fresh garlic, herbs and cilantro). A+ delicious. Light, rippable, soft, garlicky, good for grabbing food like you don't have silverware and adding flavor and texture to every bite. The Chicken Tandoori (Chicken marinated overnight in yogurt with fresh Indian spices and grilled in a clay oven) came out last and on its own, sizzling like the center of attention like a steak fajita. Chicken was well-cooked and very tender. Lots of good flavor, but maybe a little too salty. Overall, this was a very good introduction to Indian food for a few of my co-workers. I'm glad we came. It was a nice visit.

We ordered the Thali expecting a well-rounded, flavorful Indian meal--but what arrived at the table was far from it. The food was served cold, which immediately set the tone. Naan, which should be soft, warm, and slightly crisp on the edges, was instead leathery and overly chewy, almost as if it had been sitting out far too long. The Thali was supposed to include chicken biryani and chicken curry, but both dishes missed the mark entirely. The chicken served was dark thigh meat, which in itself isn't an issue when cooked right--but here, it lacked any depth or proper preparation. More disappointing was the complete absence of flavor. Indian cuisine is known for its rich layers of spices and aromas, but everything on the plate felt bland and lifeless, as if the spices were an afterthought rather than the heart of the dish. Adding to the disappointment, the interior decor felt very dated and gloomy, lacking the warmth or vibrancy you'd hope for in a dining space. The bathrooms were also filthy, which only made the overall experience worse. Having dined at several Indian restaurants, we know what a good Thali should taste like--balanced, vibrant, and satisfying. This was none of that. It felt rushed, poorly executed, and lacking the care that defines authentic Indian cooking. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing enough that we won't be returning.
