Five stars for the beer selection, 3 for the food, so it averages out. This is a newer place I got to try out recently. Despite the name possibly suggesting some sort of a taverny feel, it's a sports bar. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere, but maybe that's on me for having too high of expectations. They've got over 60 brews on tap, and a nice selection from lighter ales to heavier stouts and ciders and sours, too. They offer pricing for different sizes, which is nice, and the option to make your own flights. The food, however, wasn't so great. We only did appetizers, so maybe the 'meals' are better, but the fried pickles were soggy and the pretzel sticks were dry. The dipping sauces helped both, but neither was that appetizing. Our server was friendly and attentive enough, and prices were reasonable. I'd go back again for the brews, and I'd give the food one more shot. read more

I asked him for some recommendations for a beer, and he immediately gave me some thoughts about a beer that I might like based on my preferences. We ordered burgers that were amazing. They have a great beer selection that changes often.  As a craft beer fan, I was impressed with their selection as they had a decent amount beers that I have not seen in the area, mixed in with classics and local favorites.  They have the beer offerings high up on the wall with cute, hand drawn labels and then a paper beer menu that a bartender or server will bring to you.  I like that the beer menu tells you the price of the beer at it's full size (along with the size), the price during happy hour and the 4oz pour price.  I sat at the bar for an early dinner and got great service.  My bartender was friendly and was quick to check on me or ask about refills.  I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries - the food came out to me in 15 minutes.  I'm not a fan of shoe string fries and they were under cooked so they were soggy and limp.  I was really excited for the burger, which was unfortunate as it was very bland and the meat itself didn't taste like much.  If you decide to get a burger, take note that the burgers don't come with a side (which is fine, just unusual).    I haven't been here for any of the events, however I noticed they often host tap takeovers and live music.  I will definitely be back for the beer and live music.   At the time of this review, on Mondays you can get a plain burger and a 16oz beer (check the beer menu as not all beers come in 16oz pours) for $10..to check if that special is still current, you can go to their Facebook and they have the special listed as an event for each Monday that this special is running.  There are other specials listed on their website, however I noticed this one was not on there. read more

I really enjoy this burger joint. The menu is small, but also offers a variety so even if you're kind of picky you can find something to enjoy. I've only tried a couple of burgers, but that's just because the Brews-Chetta Burger is so dang delightful it's hard to order anything new! The California Burger was good too. I love that I can get different seasonings on my fries. The Cajun is my favorite! This is also a super place for great beer choices. They have something like a bajillion (or close to) beers on tap, including ciders! I highly recommend checking Mr. Brews out for a yummy burger and tasty beers. read more

Went for burgers, stayed for the beers! We had a group of 6 and they were very accommodating. We each tried a different burger and enjoyed several beers. Add jalapenos, cheese, mac n cheese, if they have it you can add it. One friend had hers plain and said it was the perfect amount of flavor. Overall we were all impressed and will be going back soon. Left my husband wanting more... in a good way!!! We were happily surprised for a burger place in a strip mall. Husband had a cheeseburger w/ bacon and egg (his signature) and really enjoyed it. Be sure to order a side of family fries or chips. I had the California bean burger which was good but the way husband made the burger sound I wish I had ordered that. The beer menu is divided by flavor which I really appreciate and wth ever changing 60 on tap (good Wi selection) how could you go wrong. What we did find surprising was the kids menu... no burger?! They want to be a family pub but felt a little more bar then hoped for. There is a nice a nice outdoor seating area that looks nice and I hope they have umbrellas for sunny days. Specifically said NO barbecue on the jalapeño burger because my boyfriend has a tomato allergy. The burger came out with barbecue all over it and I said for a second time that he has a tomato allergy so he can't eat it. They went in the back and "scraped" the toppings and barbecue off and brought it back. There was still enough barbecue on it to wipe off with a napkin for me to taste and verify that it was barbecue. What is so hard to understand about an ALLERGY. Do you not know what ANAPHYLAXIS is? How hard is it to remake a single burger when an allergy is involved? I was not very impressed with Mr Brews, it is small, loud and a chain. I was at first impressed with the huge beer selection until I ordered a flight and had to reorder 3 times because they were out of something I ordered, really frustrating. I don't like that it's a big chain either, I think I'd rather just go to the local brew pubs and tasting rooms. On the up side, it was busy yet the service was very good, and while the place is too small for live music if you actually want to talk, the band they had playing was quite good. I was pretty excited to check finally check this place out because they have 60 beers on tap! Mr. Brews is a WI chain (Appleton, Plover, a few in the Madison area) and I've never been to one, so I'm glad they opened one up in De Pere. The location is small, and wouldn't recommend going here with a big group. I was here on a packed Wednesday night, and there were a couple of big groups and it really held things up when people kept popping in. As I was sipping on my beer, I was really impressed with the service as they had three servers running all over the place, getting the drinks for their own table. That was good because there was one bartender behind the bar and he was busy keeping up with the customers at the bar and cleaning the glasses. The beer was great. Tons of selections from WI breweries. Was surprised by having a couple of beers from small GB breweries that doesn't distribute to many bars. The menu looked like it was mostly burgers. I didn't eat there, but the burgers looked pretty good as I was eyeballing them as people nearby ordered food. Can't wait to come again to try out the food...maybe during a sportsball game, as it looks like a fun place to watch a game. read more

So good! Glad we stopped by for lunch while our errands. It was so good we ordered takeout a couple of days later. Clean, fun and modern inside. Friendly staff. Nice variety of beers a ciders. Most importantly for me good vegetarian options! They have the impossible burger and so many great toppings. We also had to go back so soon to try more sides! Decent service consodering we went during a packer game, food was fantastic, but I do have a few criticism that if adressed would take this place from good to great. 1) too loud, the tvs are turned up so high that in the confined space its incredibly loud. 2) windows should be tinted 3) fries and chips need less salt or just dont add any 4) my burger (hangover) had too little sauce but was otherwise delicous Really good place to eat with very fair prices, but could be greater.
