Just ate here for the first time. Wife and me went on a Sunday morning around 11am. Place was pretty full, but, there were still some empty tables; we were seated right away. I'm sure this won't last long once they are more well known. So, if you want a Sunday breakfast place that doesn't have a long wait, get to them soon! Place was clean. Service was fast and friendly. Food was good. Wife liked their turkey sausage. She won't go back to new places if she doesn't like their turkey sausage. So, glad she liked it! She had a two egg meal and enjoyed it all. I had their #2, which was 2 half pieces of French toast, eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage. I got their normal sausage. It was good as well. Prices were pretty standard. Breakfast is always kind of pricey compared to what it could be made for at home. But, that goes for all breakfast places. Overall, I have nothing to really complain about... Other than on my receipt there is a $1.50 charge for "open food"? Not sure what this is. My wife thinks maybe it is because she brought her own hot sauce. We asked what hot sauce they have for the hashbrowns, they said only Cholula. My wife likes her Louisiana hot sauce. She had a bottle in her car so she went and got it. Did they charge us $1.50 for getting our own hot sauce? That seems weird. Hot sauce is free there. It's not like we brought in food or drinks. Anyways, I'm just confused what that charge is for, didn't notice till I was uploading pictures here on Yelp. Give them a try! read more

an amazing little breakfast spot in hoffman estates. from decor to food to hospitality, Mr Breakfast has everything you want out of a brunch spot. the selection of food was amazing and everything was tasted great. my gf and I each got their frappuccinos and my goodness. they were tasty and truly a cheat meal in a drink, but well worth it. with our drinks we also shared two dishes. the popeye benny (eggs benedict) and the andouille sausage skillet. both popped with flavor and it was all so good. i just moved out of my parents house so i won't be able to walk over here for constant brunches. however, if i'm ever back in the area, i'm definitely coming to Mr Breakfast. read more

Gluten-free pancakes are easy to make, but I have never had any like the light, fluffy, incredibly delicious pancakes I got this morning from Mr. Breakfast! These might be the best pancakes I've ever eaten, gluten-free or otherwise, and served fast and friendly! On the side I received one over-easy egg, which was also absolutely perfect. I got the order to go, picked it up way late, and it was still surprisingly warm and scrumptious. This breakfast was one of the highlights of my road trip. Went here today (Father's Day). The place was very crowded and we waited for 20 mins. We had to go back to the hostess twice before they realized we were next in line and ushered to our table. The waiter looked hassled and he came by and took our order after 10 mins. We waited for 30 mins for the food to arrive, nothing. When we checked with the waiter, he came back after 10 mins with wrong items. When we said that was not our order he took it back and came out after 10 mins and said they messed up the order and took our order once again. We waited for another 30 mins and nothing. At this point all of us were starving and everyone who came after us were served. I went to the hostess to talk to the manager, that was when our waiter came back and said he was the manager. By now we were about ready to leave and Jeff the manager said the food is ready and he will bring it. Said they will take care of the delay and adjust the bill for the wait. So after 2 hours of wait we got our food. Hallelujah! The food itself was above average and presented decently, hence 3 stars. Jeff offered to take off one coffee from the bill as a compensation for the 2 hour wait. I told him to add it back. For the mess that they made, if I were the manager, I would not have charged anything. In the end, I felt it was a Father's Day weekend and Jeff looked very tired. So I decided it was unfair to judge when a dad had to work on Father's Day. So I left after giving him a hefty tip. Absolutely terrible experience. Arrived for Sunday Mother's Day breakfast at 9:10. Were seated at 9:30, ordered at 9:40. So far, so good. At 10:20, we observed our server (who had not checked on us since the order) pull up a screen on the POS, say something frantic to another server (who seemed to also be the manager), the walk back into the kitchen. I could see her showing the cook line a ticket which I believe was ours. At 10:30, the table next to us who had been seated at 10 was served their order. We flagged the manager down who said that the kitchen was busy with online orders and offered us chicken and wild rice soup while we waited. Who eats soup before eggs?? We were finally served breakfast at 10:40. Food: my mother and I both had variations of eggs Benedict with hash browns. Potatoes were served lukewarm and completely without seasoning. I didn't even get a butter flavor. English muffins were pancake thin and looked like they may have been pressed on the griddle. Turkey on mine was dry. Avocado was slightly underripe. Hollandaise was yellow and without discernible flavor, certainly not lemon. No paprika. Eggs were cooked well. read more

Stopped at Mr. Breakfast this morning for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. For the most part, they offer your standard breakfast/lunch joint fare. Some of their offerings have a little twist here or there. We started with coffee, which was quite good. They are proud of their biscuits and have a right to be. I opted for the biscuits and gravy with a couple of eggs over easy. The biscuit was enormous, but light and buttery in flavor and the gravy was the real surprise. I make my own biscuits and gravy, so I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to reviewing restaurant versions. Many times the "gravy" is just some generic white, pasty, gloppy generic white country gravy that the restaurant has crumbled some patty or link sausage into just before ladling it over a couple of sad biscuits. Not in the case of Mr. Breakfast. The sausage gravy has a real homemade taste and texture to it. It's thick, but not too thick. It's savory without being salty. And it really tastes like the sausage and gravy have been mingling together for quite a while. Definitely recommend Mr. Breakfast. We'll be back. read more

We arrived and were seated immediately even though the place is not huge and seating is limited. Unfortunately I think we were seated at the one table that they don't want to use because we were on the "floor." It felt like we were the last so we got the least. It's ok though because we are taller people. The server immediately acknowledged us and circled back around when he was free. It was not a long wait. We received water right away and an offer of coffee. We ordered and though our server and he was not well versed in the menu but he did a good job. The food came and it was perfect. We used to come to this location when it was a Chinese restaurant, and they really renovated it well, it's nice and bright, the place look fresh and clean.
