Came to get dessert and tried the mango bingsoo. While the menu says it is mango snow, it was actually just regular milk snow. Toppings in the bowl include mochi, mango jelly, and mango cubes. On top is some mochi, mango slices, and a scoop of passion fruit sorbet. There is mango sauce and condensed milk throughout the bowl. The staff spent a lot of effort to make the bowl pretty and did a nice job of mixing the ingredients so that you don't have toppings on top only. The shop seems cute and there seems like there would be more things available when the owner is in. They have lunch boxes that look good. They also have takoyaki on the menu but the machine is currently down. One thing that I didn't like is that the item was different from the menu description. I was expecting mango snow and mango ice cream or sorbet. It's not the end of the world but I picked this one in particular because it was supposed to be mango snow. While the bingsoo is large enough to share, I also feel it is priced a bit high for what it is. Might be because there aren't many other laces like this in the area but bingsoo is usually bigger or less pricey. Overall, a decent stop for dessert if you want something a little different. The Korean couple who work at the store are unbelievably friendly, and we had a great conversation with them. Each bingsoo is large enough to split between 2 people, but for those with an appetite, a single person can eat an entire bowl. "The Raven" is their specialty in honor of the city of Baltimore, but all the flavors sound so good. Each one is hand made with care and one can watch the process of ensuring that each bite has a different topping or flavor. I actually think i prefer the oat milk substitute! We tried the mango and loved the freshness of the mangos were spot on and wasnt too sweet and the sherbet complimented the ice very well. The shaved ice was pretty good, coming from hawaii we have shaved ice alot and the texture i like is more fine and melts in your mouth. The ice here was a little more coarser but still very good. It's been a year, to say the least. Pandemics and all. And visiting Mr Bingsoo today was a taste of what life can return to once everyone gets vaccinated. My partner had been excited to try this place out ever since we saw it's sign pop up in Fells sometime in late 2019 or early 2020. But that was the Before Times and, like many businesses, this one was aversely impacted by the coronavirus, only opening last week. Bingsoo is Korean for shaved ice and it is delicious. Refreshing and sweet (but not overly so), it is the perfect dessert for a summer day or night. Traditionally, shaved ice is made from either water or milk, but the owner said the mango bingsoo we ordered was their own take and used coconut milk instead. And altogether it was a great take. The mango was fresh and sweet. And mixed with the shaved ice, we thought it tasted of lychee (another Asian fruit, though the owner insisted he didn't use any). The mochi chunks added a nice chew and texture. Plus, the portion size was huge! Definitely eye-catching when laden with toppings. And definitely hard to stop oneself from eating - I managed to get brain freeze several times and had to force myself to slow down. We also got a red bean filled taiyaki, or fish bread. Perhaps somewhat deceptively named for those who haven't tried it before, fish bread is actually a dessert and more the texture of a waffle than bread (and indeed made in what's essentially a waffle press). Also, no fish are involved in the process besides inspiring its shape. Here, the crust was nice and crisp while the rest was soft - a good balance. The red bean paste - another classic Asian flavor - paired well as a sweet filling that reminded me of something I had in my childhood. We are both looking forward to returning to sample the many other takes on bingsoo, as well as drinking some of their bubble teas. This is a fine addition to Fells Point and I'm so excited that it's finally open and as good as I'd hoped it would be. read more

First off, the bingsoo portions are HUGE- definitely enough for 2-3 people to share! I didn't love the bingsoo itself- I found it pretty flavorless and couldn't get through even half of it. The ice on top has flavored powder, but all the ice underneath is just plain. There is also red bean mixed in so it might be better for people who like red bean! The ice cream on top was so delicious and creamy though-- I wish I could just order that! The restaurant itself is small but nice, it can probably seat about 5-7 people total. read more

Unfortunately, the day we visited the freezer was broken, so we could only choose the OG bingsoo. It came with red bean and some small mochi bits. They were generous with the red bean and the texture of the ice was also great. However, I was a bit disappointed because it didn't seem to have enough condensed milk or toppings in general. I've been wanting to try out Mr. Bingsoo for a while now! The place closes pretty early so isn't really an after dinner dessert place. We were in the neighborhood one hot afternoon and decided to stop in. We ordered the "Game, Set, Matcha" and the "MangO's", in addition to two macarons. The shaved ice was super soft and snow-like texture. It was piled high and then topped even higher with toppings. My favorite was definitely the MangO's which was super refreshing. I think the Matcha would have been better if they made some sort of matcha syrup to go on top of the snow ice instead of just adding powder. The powder just tasted chalky and didn't leave a pleasant taste in my mouth. My only gripe is that the snow really had no flavor so once you got through the top, there was minimal flavor left. I would recommend layering some snow, then syrup in between before topping it off with the fabulous toppings. All of the staff were super friendly.
