Please don't skip Mr. Baker the pastries are some of the best I've had. And I've eaten them in Paris France! I take advantage and stop by every time I'm in Riverside. The cofre is also made perfectly! Staff is super friendly and patient, the inside is clean and roomy great to do some emails and drink my coffee!
Order a variety of items to try when I visited my family in Los Angeles. Ordered my favorite white chocolate macadamia latte with oatmilk which has the best flavor[not to bitter/not too sweet].Tried an assortment of tart pastries and all where very delicious. Crookie is our favorite and in general all pastries are homemade and delicious. Prices are little on the high side but worth it on occasions unless you are buying for yourself. A spot we love to hit often.
This cafe is located right on Magnolia Ave and there is plenty of parking. Upon entering, I noticed everything was bright and clean. Plenty of seating as well. The workers seemed friendly. There are tons of bakery options displayed. We decided on a few from each category which included a slice of chocolate cake, pastry, cookie, coffee cake, lemon bar, and pecan bar. We also tried their matcha drinks: matcha latte and strawberry matcha. So, the items were tasty but I feel they weren't as fresh as I'd expected them to be. The coffee cake was stale but I'm thinking it'll be better if warmed up. The lemon bar was good and the pecan bar was actually my favorite. Not too sweet at all. Cookie was 7/10, pesto croissant was 6/10 and slice of chocolate deluxe cake was 8/10. The matcha drinks were good and I love that the matcha was watered down. You can taste a bold flavor. We hope to come back and try more!
Found this place on Instagram while searching for a place to get matcha nearby. Was pleasantly surprised by their large selection of pastries and desserts. Their strawberry matcha was absolutely fabulous. There were way too many goodies to choose from, we just filled up a box and took it home to the fam. It was a bit pricey for what it's worth but everything tasted fresh and not too sweet.
Came upon this place randomly on a Tuesday morning around 11. Decided to stop in and give it a try. Located on the corner or Magnolia and Banbury drive. There was plenty of parking at this time. The inside is a clean minimalist look. It's super spacious with lots of seating. They have an amazing assortment of pastries and desserts. We bought several items to try. The total for everything seen in my photos was around $38 which included a vanilla latte. All of the items we tried were delicious. The croissants both savory and sweet were my favorite. I love a really well made croissant. The Ham and Cheese Croissant and Strawberry Croissant with the cream filling were two of the ones that stood out to me. They also warm up the savory pastries! Their tarts are excellent, I'd recommend the pistachio, if you are a fan of pistachio. Overall I'd say this is a great spot for a sweet treat. Customer service was great! I'll definitely be returning for more. PS: They also have Doggie treats! :)
New place - clean open inviting place with lots of pastry choices - and drinks - nice place to sit and enjoy your sweet snack- but... I got my cake to go - unfortunately cake was dry and did not meet my expectations based on all the aesthetic pieces I seen out on display- I think I just made a bad choice and will give it a try a 2nd time around - and maybe get a little something to eat there ! To be continued..... for now it' is a must try!!!!
We came here on a whim and I am so glad we did! I was waiting for my husband to get a haircut across the street and I decided to come in here for a drink and a sweet treat! I came in with a stroller and there is a lot of room for a stroller and even the seating accommodates a stroller. They had so many desserts and items to choose from, it was hard to pick one thing! They have cupcakes, all different types of croissants, macaroons, cookies, cakes, banana pudding, muffins, premade sandwiches, cake pops & so much more! I decided to get a chocolate chip cookie and they asked if I wanted it heated up and I said yes please! It was delicious! The employees who took care of me were kind and quick! My strawberry matcha was made so quickly and it was delicious! I have to say one of the best I have ever had! I plan on coming here every time my husband needs to get a haircut!
New bakery in town!!! This location is on Magnolia and it happens to be on the way home for me after working out at LA Fitness. HAHAHA. So I tried it and it was quite a good experience. They offer a wide selection of fresh pastries, cakes, and desserts. I got one of their buttery croissants and a slice of Black Forest chocolate cake. I figured why not treat myself as I had already gone and worked out for an hour. Let me tell you it was worth every bite and calorie. It is definitely Asian inspired as all the sweets are light, fresh, and tasty. Not that heavy sugar creamy taste that non Asian bakeries are. As for prices, they are quite decent. I also got a cappuccino that paired well with my buttery croissant and chocolate cake. The staff were friendly and welcoming when I stopped in and introduced their store and also gave some good recommendations. I wasn't in the macaron mood but looking at the various flavors I will definitely stop by again and try it. They even had pet treats for sale as well so its definitely pet friendly! Glad I stopped in as the overall service and variety make it a nice local spot for dessert, coffee, or a sweet celebration treat. Decent size parking lot in the front and lots of indoor dining tables where you can sit and enjoy your treats and with the wi-fi password, looks like its an OK to study or watch movies here.
I was on a little pastry adventure and decided to stop by Mr. Baker and Uncle Fluffy since they're only about five minutes apart. Mr. Baker has a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. The bakery is in a big white building on the corner, so it's easy to spot. Inside, there are tables for dine-in on the left, while the counter and dessert display cases are on the right, along with additional seating. They have a great variety of treats, including whole and sliced cakes, macarons, tarts, cookies, scones, and more. Everything looked beautiful and well made. The bakery was also very clean--the tables, floors, and display cases were all well maintained. It was hard to choose, but I ended up getting a chocolate tart, strawberry tart, two macarons, a coconut pineapple cake slice, a turkey jalapeño croissant, four chocolate chip cookies, two dog treats, and a tiramisu matcha latte. The total came to about $45, which I don't mind paying if the quality matches the price. My toddler ended up eating the chocolate tart, so I guess that was a hit. The tiramisu matcha latte was just okay. It came with a cute little biscuit cookie, but the drink itself wasn't anything memorable--it reminded me of something I could get at Starbucks. The coconut pineapple cake was delicious--very flavorful, creamy, and layered with pineapple and pieces of coconut. I haven't tried the macarons or strawberry tart yet, but based on how everything looked, I have high hopes. Overall, it's a cute little bakery with a great selection and a clean, inviting atmosphere. It's definitely on the pricier side, but if the quality is consistent, it's worth checking out.
First time visiting Mr Baker Bakery. It has its own parking lot so it wasn't hard to find parking. First impression when entering the store was that it was clean and they have a nice area for people to study or hang out to have sweets. There was a diverse amount of pastries that look good and a good selection of drinks. Prices for them is a little pricey, but the cake slices are big. What I tried: - Napoleon cake- Cream on it was rich, but with the bigger slice, the taste of the cake has more flakiness. Wasn't good for me. - Tiramisu Latte- This drink was good and wouldn't mind getting it again, but could have been better with more espresso flavor. Overall, I wouldn't mind trying this place more and maybe see if there is anything else I would like.
I visited Mr. Baker in Riverside, and it's a really nice café if you're looking for a place to grab pastries or sit down to study. One thing I will say is that their pastries are really good, but they do lean a little on the pricier side. That being said, the quality is definitely there and everything looked really fresh and well made. I also tried their Matcha Tiramisu drink, which looked really good at first. The presentation was nice and it seemed like it would have a strong matcha flavor. However, after mixing it and taking a few sips, it mostly tasted like milk. I even asked if they could add a little more matcha, and they were very nice about it and added more for me, but it still ended up tasting pretty milky overall. It was a little disappointing for a drink that costs $6.50, especially if you're hoping for a stronger matcha flavor. Even though the drink wasn't exactly what I expected, the staff were really kind and accommodating, which I appreciated a lot. The café itself is also very spacious and open, making it a great place for people who want to study, work on their laptops, or just hang out for a while. The environment feels calm and comfortable, and there's plenty of seating so it doesn't feel cramped. Another thing I really liked was how cute and aesthetically pleasing the food and drinks look. It's definitely the kind of place where the presentation makes it fun to take photos before eating. If you enjoy taking tasteful aesthetic pictures of pastries and drinks, this is a really nice spot for that as well.
Basque cheesecake! First time trying Mr Baker. Lovely welcome helpful staff very friendly. Lots of choices for pastries, cookies, cupcakes, whole cakes or by the slice. Savory croissant rolls spinach artichoke, ham & cheese, jalapeño. Spacious interior with seating areas great for large groups to hang out. Parking in front or on the side of building.
We somehow managed to avoid this place for months upon its recent opening. But today, the willpower came to a crashing halt. The pastries and cakes are a sight to behold, and the interior, while fairly stark in decor, has more than a few tables to seat yourself and nibble. There is coffee, too. We usually go nuts in a place like this. Our freezer is well stocked. But shockingly, I chose only one pastry, a huge Pistachio Cruffin. My decision was based on observing another customer buying two of these behemoths. Unabashed, I asked if she had tried them before. Not only did she respond with a sheepish "yes", but her eyes got bigger as she confessed this is her son's favorite and he can eat one of these singlehandedly. That was all I needed to hear. I am currently nibbling on my half (since Mr B decided I should share) while writing this, and I totally get it. It is 5-star good. It fulfills my dream of an elegant croissant. The creamy filling with chopped pistachio, is dreamy and not overly sweet, something I really appreciate. It has a $7 price tag, but is worth it in quality, not to mention quantity, since it is so sharable. Based on this introduction, I would not hesitate to give more of their freshly baked goods a try. There are other creative renditions of croissants in their display, some sweet, others savory, not to mention gorgeous cakes (whole or by the slice), muffins, pastries, cinnamon rolls, and cookies. Pricey, but good. You really should check them out.

I only went here because Isabella's was closed. The pistachio cupcake was not good, probably old, definitely not worth the $5. Tres leches slice looked nice but no flavor. Hopefully the macaroons are decent enough considering I just spent $30 there read more

Decided to to try this new cafe with my gal friend. Wow such a wonderful selection of desserts. It was so hard to choose. They also have delicious coffee drinks. I can't wait to come back and try something new. The cafe is spacious, clean and service was very attentive and quick. read more
Sad to see a classic like Dragon House in Riverside close but was curious to see what has taken it's place. The renovation made the place unrecognizable as a former Chinese restaurant but there was hardly any room for customers to enjoy their coffee and bakery treat. Lines were packed but we decided to try what the fuss was all about. It was a recent opening which probably accounts for the crowd but it seem to also mean they were understaffed. Tables were not cleaned. A little trash on the customer side of the floor. I didn't see a single staff member clean the dining room the entire hour we were there. Cakes were very attractive but were a bit freezer burnt. The filling was still frozen and did not have any distinguishable flavor other than sweet. I couldn't taste a hint of coffee or chocolate in the cappuccino cake since the filling wasn't defrosted yet. I couldn't even cut through the cake with my fork with the frozen-solid filling. The cake itself was defrosted but was dry. It sucks the moisture out your mouth. Espresso tasted like hot water. Maybe that's what they used to flavor the cake. read more

The inside is very clean, the staff are friendly. There's good parking. I ordered a matcha latte which was a big disappointment. It pretty much just tastes like sweetened milk, no matcha flavor at all. However their pastries are pretty good. If you are big matcha fan maybe ask for extra matcha when ordering. read more

The raspberry tart was PHENOMENAL! I ordered a few things to try a variety and everything was a banger. I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews but I'm so glad I did. Everyone was very attentive and the place was beautiful inside. I ordered 2 iced coffees, the tiramisu and the macadamia. I preferred the tiramisu and my fiancé preferred the macadamia but both were delicious. We also ordered the turkey jalapeño croissant, rose macaron, pistachio macaron, and strawberry cream croissant. Again EVERYTHING was a banger. This place is a must try. read more

Great bakery... but crap attitude by this girl. At the time I walked in there was no line and I got major attitude from this girl... lie she got irritated I wanted to place an order. for being newer to the area you would think customer service would be ALOT better .. glad I came and ordered when I did. We started out with chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate tarts. The chocolate tarts were excellent. The chocolate chip cookies left a lot of room for improvement. The service was absolutely delightful. The clerks were all pleasant. The cafe is clean and tidy. There is a very big variety of treats to choose from. The ambiances okay. Some of the guests are a little rude you have to look aside of that. read more

Spacious, has outlets, and free WiFi, overall great place to get some work done. Servers are nice and friendly. The drinks were ok, we got the tiramisu latte, where I could not really taste the tiramisu. I also tasted the white chocolate macadamia latte, and it was nothing special. The Tiramisu Latte I had was fantastic. Their baked goods were good. Not overly sweet which is how I like it. The line was long considering this is a new establishment and there is a lot of hype. My wife and I waited about 30 mins total waiting in line then waiting for our drinks. The cashier had great service but they should definitely have another register to move the line along quicker. Ambiance was very disappointing. Not really decorated or music playing. Over all my experience was so and so. I might go back in a month or so after the hype has settled. read more

Honestly, this place is just OK. The match is absolutely horrible. Don't even bother trying it. The coffee is pretty good. I would say that this place is more for aesthetics rather than actually good drink drinks and it's definitely not worth the money.. I will say the pastries are pretty tasty but honestly for priced. The macaroons are packaged so that didn't really convince me about the quality of this place overall either although the staff is super friendly and the place was pretty clean. read more

Pastries and Cakes: 8/10 - we tried a bit of everything; however, things were crispy and air, which is good. i ordered the fruit danish and matcha croissant, my slight issue is the matcha it taste like powder form, very grassy. The cakes (cheesecake ones I ordered) were delicious, very moist and flavorful. Drinks: Strawberry Matcha Latte (7/10) - the strawberry "foam" (i believe) taste very much like nesquik strawberry milk (at least for me); it was still good, but not the best. Tiramisu Matcha Latte (3/10) - the drink was very questionable; it just tasted like watered down matcha, no flavor of tiramisu. i might have to explore with their matcha again, but the matcha drink was very grassy as well. They do get busy, but their service is good. I came today to try and to see if it was a good study spot. It is an okay study spot; however, there aren't that many tables to sit with your computer and to charge. The noise level from the crowd will be loud so if you do come here to study, bring headphones or earphones. read more

Stopped into Mr.baker and have been here a few times and loved the service! However this last time I came in they made my drink iced instead of hot when I mentioned this to the barista with the bright pink hair she has major attitude as if I messed up on the coffee. It wasn't a big deal I just wanted it hot. Honestly not coming back due to her attitude. read more

Very excited to have a bakery/cafe like this in riverside. Tbh I was quite disappointed with the visit. I tried a few of their pastries and the strawberry matcha. The matcha was so bad, you could see the grains of matcha and it was excessively sweet. The strawberry part itself was yummy but the matcha was so bad I couldn't even drink it. I would not recommend it!! The line was long so the workers started taking our orders while we waited which was a good idea but as I got closer to the glass display I realized how incredibly dusty the glass was that it made me feel so disgusted I wanted to cancel my order. The glass looked very dirty which made me feel like they probably aren't very clean here. The cheesecake I tried was okay the croissant was nothing special but the carrot cupcake was great! Extremely SLOW SERVICE. They business only has one line, one cash register and one person taking orders. For a new business, this is awful. The owner should visit 85 Degree Bakery to see how organized and fluid the lines move and customers are served. Due to the long lines, I definitely will not be a repeat customer. After waiting in the long line for 35 minutes, we finally ordered three pastries. A slice of red velvet cake, a cup cake carrot cake and pistachio cup cake. I was truly disappointed with the quality. There has been a lot of hype regarding this new establishment however after my experience, it's definitely not worth the long wait time and very expensive proves. The three items I ordered totaled $16.45 cent. $$$$ read more

This place is great. Those complaining of parking and other things should rate this place. It does not accurately describe the pastries and service. 10/10 on customer service and pastry quality. The coffee is great as well. The pineapple coconut cake is so good too. It took me back to 1985 during my childhood birthdays. Thank you!! read more

They have pretty good baked goods, but the two times I have gone I have found a hair in the pastries. The first time I went I saw a hair through the glass and let an employee know. This is the second time I went there and the hair was baked into the cupcake. read more
