They missed that deadline too. Since that September 23 call, I've received no update and have been unable to get a response for nearly a month and multiple calls. As of October 16, they still have my deposit and two units have not been installed. Taking half the payment, missing repeated commitments, and then going silent is unacceptable. This company is a scam and the owner is not trustworthy.

Their name and phone number is shown on my thermostat, so i called them when the A/C wouldn't work yesterday. The girl who answered the phone asked for my address and if they installed the unit. I said Yes they installed it and gave her the address. She then informed me that they couldn't help me. She said they were too busy to do service requests. They only do new installations and warranty service! Not that they couldn't get to it for x number of days or weeks. Just that they couldn't service it at all. I knew it wouldn't still be under warranty since it is 4 years old, but i never heard of a company that just refused to service a product that they installed. Very disappointed.

They came, assessed and won my trust and business. We religiously care for and service our furnace as I don't want it to fail in the dead of winter. After looking at our furnace, Care told us that they did not see a need to replace it - that it checked out tine. We also had them service the AC unit which, knock on wood, has a been a gem and never yet failed us. They not only did the service, they made recommendations on how to maximize the cool air where it was wanted by shutting off the areas where we don't need it! I wish I would have known this was possible 25 years ago! As I freeze in the north side of the house while the hubby sweats in the south side. I work from home and my office is in the cool part and his TV room is in the south. We get direct sun that heats up that room quickly. Bottom line - this company is the bomb. One I look forward to having service our HVAC needs in the future.

After looking at our compressor, condenser, and HVAC, the technician told my wife that we needed a new compressor at a minimum, which would be $10k and suggested we replace our HVAC for an additional $6k. As I was away from home due to work, she called relaying this information to me. I requested she get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion. She contacted another company that came out and within 3 mins of being there he showed my wife that the breaker had been flipped off, which is why the condenser wasn't working. He also told my wife that there was nothing wrong with our condenser or HVAC other than it needed Freon. This person from the 2nd company told my wife that since our unit took R22 freon he could not service it as he did not carry R22. He was very nice, did not try to sell my wife anything but told her that the only way he could fix it was to replace the unit with a newer version. He suggested we reach out to another company that carries R22 as it would be far cheaper. We contacted the person that originally installed the condenser and HVAC and he came out. He put 3lbs of R22 freon in and it worked great after that, only charging us $450 for the service, freon, and repair. The person from Guaranteed Heating and Cooling deliberately shut off my breaker to my condenser and tried to sell my wife a overpriced system that I didn't need. They tried to take advantage of a woman, thinking she would not know any better. If it wasn't for my brother-in-law stepping in, they would have probably gotten away with it. When my Brother-in-law called to request her money back for the service call since they were blatantly dishonest, the Guaranteed person tried lying to him, saying he just spoke to me, her husband. When my brother-in-law called him out on the lie, because I wasn't even in the country at the time, he tried to back out and said he was talking about another customer. This tells me they tried this an another customer that day as well. DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL SCAM YOU!

I'm looking for a quote of at least $1000.00 because the shutoff valve is behind my hot water tank and the tank would have to be removed. George give me a firm handshake and proceeds to look at my tank. He asks one question, who installed this I said 5 star two years ago. He goes to his truck to look at his tablet then makes a call to the office. When he returns he says we will have to replace your tank and we will reroute your water lines and put on new shutoff valves. At no cost to you. That sound you heard was a heavy sigh of relief and me picking myself up. The very next day Richard shows up all friendly and big (he played ball for West). Him and his helper got the job done cleaned up and left. Job was done beautifully and I would say over and above. It has been a long time since I have seen a company go out of their way to make a job right with no questions asked. Yes I am more than pleased. Highly recommend 5 Star and I thank them so very much. BEWARE - THINGS HAVE CHANGED -- I have used this company for years and years. They always use to be…read moreprecise, honest, and competitive. But unfortunately something has changed drastically and I will never be using them again. We had an emergency with our furnace and they came right out on a Sunday. Upon them diagnosing the problem, they quoted me over 1500 for a service to fix the issue, and also quoted me over 7700 for more future service on the furnace. Mind you, this house is 900 sq ft and a brand new furnace installation is half this price. My husband asked about the ridiculous cost and the tech told him its a lot cheaper if we were to do it ourselves, so we asked for the part numbers we needed. He told us he does not have the part numbers available. We were not happy with the exchange so we reluctantly called a competitor, HVAC MECHANICAL SERVICES (614)286-7682 (ps-call them and thank me later). They came out the next day and fixed the issue for $584. I called the manager at Canal Heating and Cooling and I explained how we were happy, returning customers and are very upset with the outrageous quotes, the lack of transparency on part numbers and labor rates, and the over inflated future maintenance costs. I also mentioned his competitors rates and thoroughness. I asked for a justification prior to writing this review to see if there was a mistake. He simply said, we use flat rates, are a bigger company and the smaller companies (his competitors that we uses) can charge a lot less, and that he offers the warranties on the parts he replaces; he also goes on to say that if we were to move forward with the future maintenance, by the time they got to the heat exchange ($3300), his techs would then suggest a new system. Does all this sound like a honest company; charging a long- term loyal customer 4x more than his competitor with no justification. Then trying to quote over 7700 in maintenance on equipment that costs a fraction of that to replace brand new with a manufactures warranty. This company use to have morals and loyal customers, but it seems since it has switched to five star, those days are over. I will never do business with them again. Doing right by the customer, being honest and transparent, and not price gauging goes a long way.
