Do not go here for laser hair removal. He repeatedly went over my tattoo, which is something even the most basic laser technician would know not to do. The laser is attracted to dark pigment which is why you stay away from tattoos. He severely burnt me and probably ruined parts of my tattoo. I'm not sure if he just has no laser training and just bought a machine or if he's just careless with his treatments. Either is unacceptable from a laser technician and I won't be returning. read more

I had read the NY Magazine article that listed this place as one of the best in NY for hair removal, so I thought I would give it a try. MPM is about 30% cheaper than Pulse Laser, where I had lasered my back (with incredible results). It's probably best to level set that I'm a white guy (American euro mutt) with dark hair. I've also been told the Candela technology they use at Pulse Laser works well for that combination. That said, I showed up to MPM with the best intentions and my chest and belly shaved. The process was incredibly painful -- nonetheless, I knew that this was part of it. So here I am, a week later - the hair is already growing back and I've got about a dozen in grown hairs! MPM states they use a Diode laser and I do not recommend. My chest is itchy and in the beginning of that awful growing out stage. Candela all the way baby - I got rid of my back and shoulder hair in 8 sessions over 2 years. I go back once every winter for a touch up. Pulse Laser also has candy at the reception desk. I I had wanted to try sugaring for a while now. I researched places, and this one seemed to fit my needs. First off, the studio is lovely and clean. My technician, Oskar, was profession, through and FAST. Yes, it was weird at first, but 1 minute in Oskar had reassured me about the procedure and calmed me down, plus it was 1/2 over. It took more time for me to get prepared then for the sugaring then for the sugaring itself! That's how quick it was! And it only "hurt" the first "pull".Oskar made sure that all the hair was gone. I feel much better about myself now when I bend over and look in the mirror! Thanks Oskar! I'll see you in six weeks! I was interested in sugaring as I have very sensitive skin, and the sugaring paste is all-natural and free of harmful chemicals that are usually found in wax. Plus, it is far less painful than waxing. The discomfort is minimal and very short lasting. I had a great experience here. Oskar is very professional and friendly, and makes you feel very comfortable. He frequently pauses to ask how you are feeling and if you would like a break, something to drink, etc. He cares about your making your experience as low-stress as possible.
