Your website clearly states the estimated length of each laser treatment (for example, full legs - 20 minutes, stomach line - 15 minutes), so I had certain expectations regarding the quality and thoroughness of the service. I arrived early for my appointment and was the only client in the waiting room. After waiting about five minutes, the technician brought me in on time. From the start, there was very little communication. She only asked the standard questions about retinol use, antibiotics, and similar medical information, but she never explained the treatment process or what to expect during the session. What concerned me most was the treatment itself. The technician did not mark or properly assess the treatment areas, and it felt like she was simply guessing rather than being precise. She didn't pause to check that every area had been treated evenly. When I asked her to lower the air pressure because I was uncomfortable, my request was ignored. This location is not the same since the previous technicians left. The level of professionalism and attention to detail has noticeably declined. There was no welcoming atmosphere, no effort to make me feel comfortable, and no sense of structure. What was especially frustrating is that there wasn't a single other client waiting, yet the technician still rushed through my appointment. The session was completed much faster than expected, and I honestly do not believe all of the treatment areas were covered properly. Laser hair removal should be performed carefully and methodically. The technician should be checking that every section is treated evenly rather than rushing through the appointment. As a paying customer, I expect a thorough treatment that matches the standards your company advertises. I left feeling like my appointment was rushed and that I did not receive the quality of care I paid for. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future clients receive the level of service they deserve

I've had many different technicians over the years, some better than others but all of them are professional when doing the treatments. The front desk staff in particular provides great customer service and are very easy to contact when I need to schedule or reschedule an appointment. I've had laser on most of my body and now I only need to go every couple of months for maintenance since some areas do grow back due to hormones. They use Cynosure laser and this has been very effictive for my skin. Getting laser was the best investment since I really don't ever have to worry about shaving anymore. They always have different promotions available so the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you're interested in laser hair removal.

I could've done that weeks ago, and I would've just bought a 50% off package with the holiday deals and booked my first session if I didn't need to first come in for a 3 minute consult. The front desk staff was nice (though I have no clue what their names were because no one introduced themselves) and I was seen on time, so two stars for that, but three stars off for wasting my time. I've been preparing for weeks to begin laser treatments - no waxing, no sun, only shaving, etc., and now I'm unsure whether I should bother going back or find a different provider. UPDATE: Following my consultation, I received an email soliciting my feedback. I provided it and expressed that I had a poor experience during my consultation but remained interested in purchasing a package and working with a different specialist. No one acknowledged or responded. It now seems I'll be purchasing services elsewhere since Laser Spa doesn't care enough to earn my business with a simple response to an email. The location really is convenient and I prepared for many weeks for the treatments, so this is highly disappointing.

I don't write reviews. Never have. Until now - I feel compelled to write about my experience at Spark. I'm an attorney in NYC and the social-networking aspect of my job requires that I spend time doing business development with clients for the occasional golf outing. Also, as time is a commodity, my friends and I at my firm coordinate getting quick workouts in to catch up as otherwise months can go by and we never have an opportunity to touch base. With that said, and without getting overly-detailed, I was VERY hairy and was always extremely self-conscious about changing and showering in locker rooms with clients and peers. So, I decided to undergo hair removal treatments and did considerable research into treatments and locations where I could get treatments. What my research revealed was that ultimately it is the skill of the technician and the equipment used that are the two variable factors that need to be understood. I learned that there are hundreds of laser treatment locations in New York City, but most use old, sub-performing equipment that have negative side effects and are not as effective. I called a few places and found that many locations, including high-end spas, do not have their personnel undertake the correct training with equipment and classes to understand the underlying science of the equipment. In short, many places hire untrained personnel and teach them to just zap you with old equipment they get cheap. Once I realized what the industry was like, I decided to forgo all the hassle and just went to one of the most expensive, highly-rated spas in New York City. I called, prepaid 6 treatments, showed up and was amazed to find (a) that the equipment, which I checked the manufacturer and model number right there and then, was two generations old and (b) the technician had been working there for a year, but had never undergone any official training or certification. She learned "on the job." I left, spoke with the manager, explained my concerns and asked for a refund, she said no. I asked nicely again. She said no again, so I walked out. The next day I sent them a demand letter for my money and putting them on notice I would sue for fraud. I got my money two days later. So, next steps, I started reading reviews and contacted some clients who wrote Yelp reviews about their experiences. After considerable time researching and speaking to some people, I decided to go with Jen at Spark. And it was the best choice I could have made. Honestly, I found the whole process embarrassing and invasive, but Jen was always incredibly responsive to my unreasonable behavior fueled by my embarrassment of getting the majority of my body treated, including sensitive areas. She never rushed me and genuinely brought across that she is interested in helping me and all of her clients to be truly happy with the services she provides, a far cry from the cattle call-like aspect of most businesses in New York City. The best part, she is incredibly affordable, especially when compared to some of the luxury spas in New York City. This is an instance in which marketing and higher pricing fools individuals into thinking they are getting better service, they are not. Jen has undergone training, is certified, Spark's equipment is the most effective and the establishment is professional in every aspect. I recommend Jen and Spark Laser Center wholeheartedly. Happy to answer or respond to any questions or comments. read more

Let me start things off by saying that I am (was, rather) a very hairy man, so of course I embarked on a quest to find a clinic that actually works. After about 16 sessions in numerous locations all over NYC, Long Island, and even Jersey, I was disappointed in every one of them. That is until I came across Spark Laser. Located conveniently in a good-looking commercial building in Midtown just south of Central Park, it was extremely easy to find for me, coming from Queens. As I entered the clinic on the 11th floor, I was greeted by the clinic's Director, Amna. As she escorted me to the waiting room, I sensed a very "homie" feeling within the clinic. While the clinic itself is smaller than your average clinic, it has a very intimate atmosphere. It is in impeccable condition: the cleanest, most well-organized clinic I've been to. Amna then brought me into her own office to discuss my hair issues. Right away, I knew she's extremely knowledgeable in her field as she presented me with all the information and data on just exactly the kind of procedure I need, information that I wasn't even shown from the previous clinics I went to. On top of that, her clinic has the latest technology in laser hair removal, so it made the treatments even more easier, and even exciting (some of her stuff looks like they're straight out of Marvel Comics). Amna is the type of person who always goes above and beyond for her clients, providing legendary service, and she has shown that while doing my procedure for the last year. On top of that, her prices are fair; you know the old saying, you get what you pay for, and for the quality of her service, it's worth every cent. I would recommend Spark Laser to anyone who needs quality laser hair removal, and for those who are into hydrofacials, skin restoration, and anti-aging (I never age) - she's an expert in that as well. read more

I've been going to Spark Laser for 2 years now after $50 Spa Week promotion. This place is one of New York's best laser centers. The market is oversaturated with discount laser spas that just don't yield results. Unlike these places, Spark Laser is clean, chic and has the latest laser hair removal machines. The cooling jets on their lasers lessen the pain so each zap is more bearable. Originally I went to Spark for an IPL facial for my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark acne scars), but the clinic director Amna informed me that this wouldn't be a great choice for my skin tone. I really appreciated the honesty because it just showed me how the staff here cares about delivering results over money. Other places would have just let me get what I wanted and let me deal with the aftermath. On top of that, on my first visit, I was offered a free test patch for laser hair removal on one of my underarms. I was very impressed with what I received as a new client- but I was completely sold when the hair on my underarm stopped growing for a month and significantly lessened in density with just ONE treatment! Since then, I've been going to Spark Laser for facial rejuvenation (which includes laser treatments and a TCA peel), laser hair removal and most recently a hydrafacial, Every treatment I've gotten has been 100% worth the money. And the staff there are so sweet, caring and informative. I honestly love going here. My skin has never looked better. I'll definitely continue to go here to keep my face in check, and I look forward to removing hair from less desirable places on my body if you get what I mean. Another plus, they offer the most yummy Kava tea and cookies! read more

Spark Laser Center is A GAME CHANGER!!! I had my eyes on Spark Laser, several weeks prior to my consultation. The office is conveniently located on the same floor as my masseuse. One day, I found myself watching the informative video playing in the office and BAM! The video had PEOPLE OF COLOR explaining the benefits of laser and the positive results. After watching that brief clip, I knocked on the door and was introduced to the one and only, Amna. Amna listened with great detail and compassion as I explained my hardship as a woman of color who had to deal with hearing from other businesses that laser hair removal wasn't a process available for "MY TYPE OF SKIN". Not to mention, I have PCOS and one of the symptoms is Hirsutism. Hirsutism, is a condition where I have excessive facial hair. It was tough to explain all of this to a stranger but Amna ( and even Jaime ) welcomed my testimony, shared their stories and informed me that Spark Laser was for me! I only had three sessions so far but the results are life changing. My face and neck are so much smoother, those areas are lighter ( my 5'o clock shadow is disappearing ), less ingrown hairs, and the quantity of hair has been reduced DRASTICALLY. It feels sooooo good to not have to shave my face every day. It feels soooo good to laugh with my head tilted back or let my boyfriend grab my chin ( something I could never do out of fear and/or embarrassment ). I look forward to my future sessions and I am already forever grateful to Spark Laser and the impact they have had on my life. read more

I love these ladies-they are true professionals. The place is clean and tidy, they are excellent at keeping a schedule and communicating with you, and most importantly, they do a great job with the laser treatments. They are competent and well-trained, and you always feel like you're in good hands which is important when you're doing something as potentially hazardous as lasering. Sure it costs a good chunk of change, but lasering usually does. They are actually priced comparably to other laser centers in Manhattan, and I doubt that anyone else does it good as them. Some people may do it cheaper, but I wouldn't trust them with my skin as I have been burned before. If you are considering lasering, you should at least check out the ladies at Spark. They won't disappoint and they offer complimentary touch ups between sessions which I highly doubt any other laser place offer that of no charge. Don't be fooled by the ads found in local NYC papers that offer cheap laser hair removal services at a fraction of Spark's prices. I cannot imagine going anywhere else to have this procedure done because I know I'm receiving QUALITY service and results with personalized care. read more

I was very skeptical about having anything done to my face- as I've never even used moisturizer- and never thought I would actually pay money to try to improve the way I looked.Originally I approached a dermatologist- who gave me a five minute schpiel about all the things I should have done- and gave me a brochure of expensive options. I looked up skin centers and was impressed by all the positive reviews about Spark. They were right! Amna- who immediately put me at ease- spent a lot of time consulting with me - and explaining what she thought best. The office-located in a lovely building- very clean, white lobby with pure, positive spiritual vibe.Customers are treated like royalty with delicious chocolates-tea,and even wine! Very professional, outstanding, caring, thorough practitioners- first gave me a facial- and then a laser treatment. I can't lie- it did sting- and it did take some time to heal- but I would give Spark a 10- in every way. My face looks and feels better than it has my entire adult life! I have been going to Spark laser for almost a year now after I got a Gilt City discount. This was my first laser session ever, so I was a bit nervous about the pain people talk about and even the burns I've been warned about. I did a lot of research on laser machines and laser places. I can confidently say that Spark laser is really one of the best. Amna is the best! She ALWAYS takes care of me and does whatever she can to help me out with prices & appointments. I started out with Jen, who is wonderful, but now the new technician, Mariam is just as excellent and thorough when it comes to removing all the spots. I will be honest, my underarms did not get the same results as my other treatment areas after 6 sessions, but Spark is working with me to make sure I get the best results. I have been coming to Spark Laser for a few months now. I was trying to find a solution for my scarring and breakouts and tried many places before but ended up Wasting money. Thank god for Spark laser!! Since I've been doing the hydrofacials here, my skin has improved dramatically and all my friends have been asking me what have I been doing to my skin, it looks so good!! I used to have more visible acne scars and constant breakouts. My face also looked dehydrated. Now the scars are much lighter and I also feel like there's collagen in my face that I look much more "refreshed". I also have fewer breakouts. They also have amazing clinical skin products I got that really helped a lot with my skin. They also don't try to sell you what you don't need and just want to advice what would help with your situation. I love coming here. Hands down the best service I've ever received for all my skin care needs. I don't really have problematic skin, besides dryness and sensitivity, however, I had a huge cystic pimple on my cheek that I kept trying to pop. Amna's advice: "Leave it alone!". I received a hydra-facial that left my skin glowing for weeks and sure enough my pimple went away and left no scar on my face. The facial process in itself was very relaxing, and resurfaced the brightness to my skin. I also had laser-hair removal done here and was very impressed with how effective the treatment was. In addition, Amna introduced to me to the best facial wash and serums I have ever used on my skin. Spark is by far my favorite place for making me feel more confident about my skin! Spark Laser Center is a one of a kind renewing experience. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the best part is that you are educated on anything you ask. Procedures are explained clearly as well as what is being done to your skin in clear words so no worries because all questions are answered, if there are any. The place recently moved from a smaller office to a nicer, more comfortable place as well which is a plus. The workers are also very nice people who greet you well and know what they are doing. This is not the old laser or years ago that was incredibly painful. I have had hair removal and barely felt a thing- seriously. The new machine is state of the art and comes with a cold blast hose at the end of the laser, so if anything you feel a bit cool but for me there was no pain. The technician is very professional, had over a decade of experience and is meticulous. I have had arms, legs, underarms and bikini. Thrilled with the results. I have also done spider veins and surprised how it worked. I didn't realize how bad they were till they were gone. These felt like a little sting but went away fairly quickly. Having done laser in quite a few places over the years, I can't imagine ever going anywhere else again.

I always did them back home when I was traveling to see my mom. I Decided not to go back home this year so my search for a good facial started months ago. I was reading a lot of reviews of different places but they always had something shady that didn't sounded good, till I found this place. I decided to give it a try and I am not sorry ! This place is a little gem hidden in the middle of a crowded neighborhood (116 , Harlem) . Their webpage is extremely easy to navigated , you make an account and request an appointment. They have several estheticians , you can choose whoever you like or whoever is available at the time you want the appointment. It was my first time so I didn't care who were gonna doing my facial. After you request the appointment they reply really fast. They have several types of Facial with enhancements if you like something extra, just read and decided which one you would like , if you need something else the esthetician will say something regarding your needs and you can change it or not , it is up to you. Adriana did a great job , she is a really sweet girl who will treat you like a queen. Its a great place to pampering yourself , I will definitely be back. Recommended !!!

I am going to share a story with you, bcs we're homies and I feel like I can tell you this, even…read morethough it is an embarrassing childhood memory. When I was about 12 or 13, I was standing in line to get a CD signed. Probably Korn or Green Day. Lame. Anyway, I was with a couple friends, and one of them suddenly squinted at my face and then laughed and pointed and said really loudly, "Oh my god, Hannah has a beard!" Somehow, puberty had snuck up on me in a place where I wasn't expecting. My chin. But this wasn't the peach fuzz most girls are used to, this was a small scattering of dark, thick single hairs. Totally visible from a distance. Because God decided to bless me with almost translucently pale skin and mega dark hair. So, that night, I started plucking those bastards and never looked back. Thanks for listening. Anyway, as the years went on, I noticed something: if I skipped plucking for a while, the hairs were coming back with a vengeance. No longer the small scattering, it would be a veritable patch of hair. Waxing would yield the same results: my lip would stay light and fuzzy, but my chin just wanted to channel it's inner billy goat. Yay. Sexy. My beloved waxer at Harmony Spa recommended I look into electrolysis. She rents out her space to Khatuna, owner of Oxy Bella. So let me be clear: These are two totally different businesses operating out of the same space. They don't even share the front desk. Khatuna is AMAZING. This is professionalism and knowledge at a level that you just don't find a lot these days. She did a free consult, where she looked at my chin and discussed my heritage, my hair growth patterns, and my current strategy for hair removal. Plucking, ladies? It's a BAD THING. Apparently it can stimulate the follicles and cause even more growth. Khatuna begged me to tell everyone I know that if you're plucking, you should stop. And that was the thing I liked most about her. She was super honest, and very interested in teaching, not just treating. After our sessions, she sat with me and we talked about my progress and what I could expect. The electrolysis itself? Well it didn't tickle, that's for sure. It kind of feels like a bee sting. The needle going in isn't that bad, but then it feels like it gets super hot for a split second, so it's like a little pinchy-burny sensation. She works on a timer, usually 15 minute sessions. And trust me, 15 minutes is about all I could handle. Price came to about $75. Cash or check only!!! I've done two sessions so far. After the first, I had a tiny bruise on my chin--the result of my paleness and anemia, probably. It faded after a couple days. Both times I had mega redness, but that faded within an hour or less. Best of all, my skin was so smooth and even and lovely! After a while, the hairs that weren't killed the first time came in, and I just had them taken care of. I did not touch my tweezers between treatments! I may need a couple more sessions, but then I should have a permanently hairless chin!!! I feel so much better about myself and I'm really glad I found Khatuna. I'm already thinking about going to her for more sessions (permanently hairless bikini, anyone?) Highly highly highly recommended. If you've ever considered electrolysis, I think Oxy Bella is the place to go. And if you're plucking your face, STOP!

She would literally get mad at me and sort of yell at me whenever I was in pain during the sessions. She would get mad that I didn't show up an hour before my session so she could set a numbing cream. Because I have two hours of my life to dedicate to a single appointment, right?
