When my mother in law asked me to help her find a brow artist, I wanted to find her THE best in San Jose. I was referred to MP Studio by my hair stylist and coincidentally their studios are in the same plaza! My Phan's Instagram has tons of beautiful brows on all different types of women. I reached out by text and she is quick to respond with answers and concerns. My was booked out for two months and recommended Annie (IG:annietransj) I booked a micro blading session with her for the week after. MIL loved how they looked at the time of the session but when it healed we could tell that there needed to be a touch up session because there were parts in her brow that didn't pick up pigment. A touch up is an add on cost and is disclosed in the terms and service so be sure to understand that if a touch up is needed. During the touch up My advised micro shading would be a better idea for this second session. We are so happy with the results and really pleased with the professional experience we had with My and her team. My definitely changed the way I look at Microblading. I've always been scared of the fact that someone would be touching my brows bcos I'm scared of how they would turn out. I have very short and uneven brows so I make sure I make them all pretty and fill them in before heading out, even just to go to the grocery store. She added me on IG and was able to see most of her work on her page. Honestly, Microblading has been around for a while, and I never thought I would even consider getting mine done, until I came across My. It has been about a year since I've continuously on-and-off searched for someone to redo my brows. I originally had my brows tattooed by another artist using the ombre/semi-permanent technique. I came to know My through a coworker of mine. Once I found out about microblading, I was interested in having my eyebrows done but didn't know anyone, or anyone who had their own eyebrows done. So when my coworker got hers done, I quickly interrogated her about where she got hers done, and by whom! I hopped on that so fast, and got an appointment with My! She did my eyebrows last may/june (2017) and it completely changed my face. I have naturally very blond eyebrows, some scarring, and uneven hair growth. It was never a huge issue but definitely something I was willing to invest in. My exceeded my expectations, and made my eyebrows look better than I ever thought they would. Getting my eyebrows microbladed was life changing for me. I got my first session with me done in 2021 and my brows are almost done healing from my first year touch-up. Today I just got my Lip Blush done and I am currently so pleased with the service that I got from Nini ! She was VERY DETAILED. She is so sweet and she DOES KNOW what she is doing ! She kept checking my lips to make sure they look perfect. A handful of my friends got their brows done by My Phan and they are all happy. I've had my brows done a few times and my experience with My is by far the best experience. The whole procedure was painless and my brows are amazing. I had really uneven brows before and My was able to help even out my brows more. My first session I was really nervous and My made me feel very comfortable. After it heals, the front of my right brow shrink down a little smaller after the scabs came off which' were expected. I've had my brows done before and it's always that side that shrink a little more. At the touch up, my added about 1mm to that side and now it heals perfect. It's always best to do two sessions as recommended. I love how carefully My is. She always recommend going safe which I love. It's easy to add and hard to remove so My always say go natural first to see how I feel and add more if needed instead of regret it. I love baby step because this will be permanent on my face. After My finished, she asked me if there's anything I want to fix and there's absolutely nothing I can add to make it better because she already checked twice before asking me. You can tell she really love her job and put her all into each set of brows. I never use Yelp before but my experience with My was so great, she truly deserve it. If you're deciding to get your brows done, definitely do your research on the procedure, set your own expectations (before/after care, how skin types affect outcomes etc) and find an artist that suits your style (microblading vs. shading/ombre etc). That being said, I would 150% recommend My! I had my first session with her over a year ago when she first started microblading. I remember being very nervous going in - but My talked through and explained every step to me and I was extremely happy with the results. I went from having 3 brow hairs to a set of full, very naturally colored and arched brows. So natural that even my own mom couldn't tell I had gotten them done! Since then I've moved away to SoCal, but I still flew back to see My most recently for my 1yr touchup. I decided to go with less of an arch this time and she was very patient with me as we went through the brow shaping process in the beginning. She also recommended I go with an ever-so-slightly darker color to help with color retainment. Her rates have gone up since her promotional days, but I can assure you that her work is worth it and she is totally deserving of it. IMHO My's work is better than a handful of local artists that charge close to 2x her rates.
