So glad I found Meraki Salon! I was looking for a place that accepts walk-ins for haircuts that were nearby. I was overdue for a haircut since my last haircut was around 4 months ago. Meraki Salon is only 5-minutes from my house and super affordable. Michael was able to layer my hair and made it look like it has a lot of volume. I've always hated choppy layers, so I was happy that Michael was able to execute the haircut to my liking. My hair now looks healthy since he was able to cut all the dry ends off. I have been seeing Michael for a year now. He is the best stylist for color and highlights. His work is fast and he is efficient. Makes me wonder why I had to sit in a chair for 5 hours before I started seeing him. Micheal is a sweet man and he is always appreciative to all his customers. His price is fair. First of all let start off saying I will never cheat on my hair stylist ever again!!! Every stylist has their on technique and their own expertise. Of course it's always scary trusting someone new with your hair. The only reason why I gave this salon a try is because of their good reviews and personally know two people who love their work. As for me IT WASN'T A GREAT EXPERIENCE! Actually one of the WORST at a salon. Michael brought me back to my high school days where someone says they can do it but instead they just used you as a practice doll head. This is how this guy made me feel. I literally cried myself home with no words to say to him. I really paid for someone to mess up my hair. This is the FIRST TIME in the last 12 years I've been going blonde that I've experience so much hair fall out during my session. I mean like chucks of hair falling out while being blow dried and brushed because of over process. Not only that, Michael left my hair looking like an albino Dalmatian on the virgin parts of my hair! I had to go home and cover up his mess! Sunday, I came in asking if they could touch up my blonde matching the length of my hair. I understand I have dark hair and it's a process to go light. I also asked him to stay away from my roots, he can do this by teasing my hair as close to the roots to stay away from my scalp because I get an allergic reaction when the bleach stays too long directly on my scalp(also because this will leave me a nice ombré blend). He said he knows what he was doing. I said ok and left him alone to do his job. I watched his technique the ENTIRE TIME WHILE I WAS IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR only from what I was able to see everything looked good. UNTIL it was time to wash the bleach out. While he was washing my hair out I heard him talking in his language to his coworker(Tiffany) that started to make me feel some type of way. I started to feel nervous and scared about my hair. Michael then started saying that my hair was so dark, he couldn't get it as light and he was scared that if he kept the bleach longer my hair will over process. Again, I said I know! My hair goes through sessions. It takes my hair two to three sessions to get my hair light. He goes "oh you know? Good!". He also mentioned that it would have been better if he bleached to my scalp. While he continues to work and add the toner and treatment hair, while laying on the hair wash station. Then it was time to dry my hair! FINALLY I'm able to see the process again, back on the chair again. First RED FLAG, Michael aggressively towel drying my hair. As a hair stylist they should know not to do this because it causes frizz and more damage especially with processed hair. While drying my hair he used a brush which is ok to do but seeing all the hair being left on that brush with every stroke. I just died inside. I was shedding like a dog! So much broken hair falling to the floor. Chucks being left on the brush! I instantly shut down sitting in that chair hiding my pain. This is definitely not the place for going blonde. It is not their expertise. I've been working so hard to grow my hair again to thicken my hair at my length not just at my roots. Micheal really damaged my hair giving me unwanted layers. I really wish he told me he just didn't know how to do this. Instead of saying he knows what I'm talking about because clearly he didn't know. Thank you for all the discounts but it still doesn't fix this problem. Because I had to change my hair color to hide this mess. The fact that he gave me discount after discount without me saying anything about my hair just told me he knew he messed up. read more

Came here to bleach my hair blonde. It took two sessions to get my results but it was worth it. The bleaching process took 2 hours each in both sessions. My hair lifted well and my hair was still in good health. I liked that Michael didn't take 6-8 hours to bleach my hair. It literally took him 2 hours to do my entire head and the price was a steal! He's pretty good at replicating the inspiration photo on your own hair. He also has good suggestions and advice on how to cut or color your hair. I recommend his salon! read more

BEWARE!!! MICHAEL IS A LIAR! I was a regular here for years. I switched between Tiffany and Michael for cuts and dyes. Michael is quick and consistent with cutting my hair. It was awhile since I got a cut from Tiffany, so the last two times I requested her but apparently she was sick one time and had a family emergency another. I referred two friends here and they both told me that after booking with Tiffany, they ended up getting a cut by Michael because Tiffany always had an emergency of some sort. Didn't listen to what I wanted. Assured me the haircut they gave was what I wanted - basically a bob with the ends thinned slightly. Styled it straight despite being clear I wear it curly so I couldn't get a feel for how it would look normally. Assured me my curls would add the layers I requested despite not looking layered at all. Now that it's dried naturally it just mades it shorter and thicker at the bottom only so my hair now looks like a triangle - EXACTLY what I didn't want. Plus it's near the Dollar Tree so I can run errands after and get a delicious coconut coffee at Phin Cafe (recommended by Cece, it's so bomb even if you get it less sweet!). It's also a good place to get work done on your laptop if you need that. All the times I've gone it hasn't been crowded and I'm able to get a table. I had my brows done by Cece a week ago and I am so in love with how they turned out!! Cece is truly talented in transforming your brows and she's such a delight to be around. The whole process was about 2.5-3 hours and it didn't feel like it at all. Time flew by! First of all ...if you want an appointment with Cece, she's booked out 9 months at this point. So be patient and the wait is sooo worth it. With all the pandemic madness, I appreciated how Cece had proper practice for sanitation and a strict policy that clients had to follow. Her studio is impeccably clean and she takes precautions to protect everyone. At the start of my session Cece did a consult, then she measured and created a template on my brows to my liking. I appreciated how she took her time to do this and gave valuable input on what would compliment my face. Just TRUST her, relax and let her make you feel beautiful! I had a microblade/shade combo done and it looks so natural and fluffy. Just the way I like it :) It was a tad bit painful at first (as expected) but nothing you can't tolerate. Cece walked me through the whole process and explained everything she did, before she did it. I can't emphasize how pleasant the whole session was and how amazing Cece is!! Got my haircut by Tiffany and I am soooooo happy with it! And I am rarely this jubilant post-haircuts lol this might be the first time I truly loved the results. I have really flat hair and needed some layers, and I also had choppy-ish bangs from a bad attempt at a home haircut hahah. I asked for curtain bangs and some layers to help give me some volume/shape. I am really shy when it comes to saying what I want, idk why. Maybe cause I also don't know exactly what to ask for haha but I showed Tiffany pictures of what I was hoping for and what she thought would look good for my frame. She was extremely sweet and made sure the haircut was exactly what I wanted and didn't finish until it was perfect. When she gave me curtain bangs, I was hoping for it to be little shorter but was too nervous to say it, luckily she was able to sense my hesitation and kindly cut it to the perfect length :) gotta love a hairstylist who listens to you, recommends what's good but still does everything you ask for in the end, all the while making you feel comfortable!! Cece is TRULY a master of her craft. You can definitely tell how passionate she is about her job by the amount of love and care she puts into perfecting her work. I came in for my eyebrows expecting to do the blade & shade having done no real research on the procedure beforehand, but after letting Cece know that I have oily skin, she recommended getting the combo instead as it'll look better and last longer for my skin type and with the amount of hairs I had. Then she began with the blading and finished off with shading. She said that each brow usually goes through two passes but because I do have a scar on one of my eyebrows, she made sure to go over it a few extra times since the dead tissue does not hold onto the ink as well (or something like that) and she wanted to make sure the color wouldn't fade in that area. I am so grateful for Cece's knowledge and expertise because my brows turned out AMAZING!! I cannot thank her enough for bringing my brows and face to life! 7 months ago I went to a professional salon and they gave me such a bad haircut I cried for two days. I went to Meraki for a haircut cause I previously went to get my eyebrows waxed and didn't realize it was so close to my house. Michael did my hair and HE WENT HAM. It turned out so amazing I could not stop telling him how happy I was especially because my previous haircut was so HORRIBLE!! He gave me exactly what I wanted and I am so so so so happy! I showed both places the same inspo pictures but only Michael was able to deliver. The professional salon also took an hour to cut and style while Michael only took 30 minutes.
