Kind of spendy but prompt and efficient in their work. Work was done in a quality manner.

There was water in my basement, which appeared to be coming from the water heater. I called three different plumbing companies, and all but MP Plumbing had a wait time of more than a day to assess the situation. Jake Wantland stopped by on his way home from work! He explained everything in detail and what needed to be done. The next day, he arrived with a new water heater and showed me the rust running down the back of the old one. He installed it using earthquake protocols. Upon inspecting the water heater after installation, he noticed that the sump pump was not working correctly. He removed the top, and the problem was immediately resolved, allowing it to function as it should. Jake has an incredible work ethic and is open and honest about what needs to be done and why. read more

A huge shout out to Jake, who saved us during a major cascade of household problems. It started with a power outage, which caused our fridge to fail, which lead to the delivery of a new fridge, which started spewing water onto our kitchen floor once the water was turned back on. Jake got here quickly, helped us figure out and fix the flood, and showed us a couple of other areas where we might be at risk. I called this morning inquiring about a water heater replacement. The scheduler was very nice and answered all my questions. She scheduled my install for the same day. I was called by Micheal and was told he was on his way. Needless to say, he was very professional and knowledgeable and a very nice guy. I have used MP Plumbing twice now. I have found them to be responsive, professional and reasonably priced. My most recent experience involved two leaking contact points on my water heater. Michael was scheduled to come out the same day. He replaced all the necessary components and brought the heater up to code. He explained everything he was doing and was very professional. The water heater was not a make/model typically installed, and Steve at MP went the extra mile to call the manufacturer's representative to discuss the repair and make sure the it was in line with the manufacturer's requirements so as not to impact the warranty. So I called this place at 1:01pm today and they scheduled me for a 1/24/23 appointment. They also said their plumber might have a time window free up today, if so, would I be home for him to stop by. Of course, I replied. Our garbage disposal went out on us and had been leaking. Definitely something we wanted fixed ASAP. Well I got a call at 1:15pm from the Gene (the plumber) saying he could be by in 20 minutes. He just left (it's 2:17pm) after replacing our garbage disposal in under an hour. He was friendly, informative, fast and efficient. He had everything he needed, even special parts and tools that he grabbed from his work truck. He replaced our older disposal with a newer one in no time flat. We couldn't be happier with how quickly our needs were addressed. We'll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs. read more

This driver almost forced me into oncoming traffic as they aggressively cut off a number of people in Lake Oswego on 3/26 at 4pm after flying through a red light. Wow! $250 for a 15 minute drain cleaning. Ridiculous. We have used MP Plumbing for many years and have referred them to friends and neighbors, however, we will NOT be doing so anymore. Their rates have skyrocketed. No upfront cost was provided when we placed the service call and when we asked if the technician could do a quick drain cleaning of an additional drain he said it would be an additional cost. He also arrived after the 4 hour window we were given for the service call with no apology. We will not be calling MP again. Their rates are out of control and their service is terrible. read more

A couple of my faucets were dripping and I debated whether or not to hire a handyman or a plumber. I'm very happy I called MP Plumbing. Before the appointment, I was asked to send photos and videos showing the issues, which allowed them to ensure they had the necessary parts while on-site. Jordan came out, quickly assessed the faucets and rebuilt them, while working efficiently and professionally. He also replaced a handle to a faucet and had the part on hand. The price was reasonable, and he was patient in answering my questions. He also gave me recommendations for brands of new faucets should I decide to replace them. This review is due to terrible scheduling practices only, we did NOT talk to an actual tech or receive services. Those folks might be awesome, for all we know. We called at 4:30 on a Saturday, so I was surprised and pleased when someone answered! I explained about our water heater leak and the woman couldn't offer an opinion about its level of seriousness, which I totally understand. She said she would put an emergency page out to the techs, asking them to call us. (GREAT!). Then she explained the after hours rates (at least $380 for a visit) which was fine. Then she collected my address and phone info. Fine. But then she said I needed to agree to pay the $380...so I tried to clarify "you mean we talk to the tech on the phone and agree to pay the rate IF they can fit us in and show up, correct?" No...she was very clear that they could very well just show up, without calling first, and we would have to pay the full rate. She'd tell them we'd like a call first but was totally up to the tech whether they'd call and whether they'd come. Or if they were too busy, they wouldn't ever call and they wouldn't come. Scheduling and calling is up to the tech. We went back and forth a few times because I couldn't believe the company would really leave us in a lurch of total un-knowingness, committed to pay IF they showed up but with no idea whether they would call or show! It just can't work like that - a client needs to know if a company can fit us in and if they can't, we need to be free to call someone else. She was 100% clear that we would be locked in to using and paying them but would have no idea whether they would come. I gave up in disbelief. We called Stan the Water Heater Man, who acted like one would expect: the dispatcher messaged the tech. The tech called us. Tech was too busy to come today but we made an appointment for Tuesday. Tech also reassured us that our water heater wasn't going to explode in the meantime and gave us tips for containing the leak. Which is how these things are supposed to work! read more

I've had two leaks fixed by MP Plumbing, a water heater serviced and some issues with the water heater due to a poor job on the initial install by the previous homeowner. MP Plumbing is responsive, the techs have been consistently pleasant to work with, and the prices seem reasonable for the work being done. They are my go to plumber for sure. read more

So the other evening (well actually some 5 months ago -- never actually "submitted" this review), I realize I have a burst/cracked water pipe under my house. NOT FUN! Called up another plumbing company and they were booked, so ended up finding the folks at MP. Torn on how to rate them... The good: They had someone come out to our house that evening. Plumber came out and was unable to do the work until next-day, but didn't charge us for coming out that night (was a minimum fee) nor were we contractually obligated to go with them. Plumber also said as our pipes are CPVC, they can become brittle easily, but when asked point-black about replumbing, stated might go another 10+ years before a break (so potential to up-sell was not exercised, which was awesome). The bad: Apparently our house has apartment-sized water pipes, and therefore is not something they "stock". Next morning, got an appointment and same plumber came out (with needed supplies). While he was here, he eventually had to leave to go get some additional parts. (Hey, things come up -- but still not a "good" thing.). Pricing of materials was also quite high (although if its not materials they stock but rather have to source elsewhere, everyone wants to get their cut...) Finally, I was billed for 4-hours of labor, but I swear plumber was here for no more than 3-hours (start to finish), yet was again billed for a full 4-hours. I didn't argue the point as I didn't actually time when the plumber arrived and when plumber left, and was ecstatic to turn my water back on. Bottom line: I should have denoted arrival and departure time. (Arguably they, and any other business that charges like that should as well and include it on the bill.) Would I use them again? Really unsure... I like that they didn't try to upsell, and while plumbers clearly aren't cheap, seemed very expensive (and time intensive) for what was done relative to speaking with other folks with plumbing issues... read more

Last week, I had a huge puddle in the cabinet under my kitchen sink. Oddly enough, this was the first time I've needed a plumber in 14 years (knock on wood), and when I went looking for someone, I was shocked at what plumbing costs, and at how long the wait can be for someone to come out. Wowza! MP Plumbing's rates seem about the same as the other companies I called. The wait at the first places I called was weeks (or longer) but one of them recommended MP Plumbing. Even with MP, the wait was a week. Joe from MP came out today, and I explained the "symptoms" of what was going on (water coming out of bottom of garbage disposal, but not the sides or the top or around the sink). He got to work super quickly to replace the garbage disposal. While he was under the sink, he noticed something that the people who had the house before me hadn't done to code (anchoring the drain hose from the dishwasher to the underside of the sink by the faucets to keep water from a stopped up sink from draining into the dishwasher), and fixed it. The visit was $140 for the one hour, $60 for the time it took to drive from Clackamas to my place (argh, but I guess that time costs them, too), and the materials. After Joe stopped the clock, he took the time to answer a couple questions about other plumbing problems I am saving for another time (mine was his last call of the day). Five stars because Joe was very courteous, obviously really knew what he was doing, and worked quickly. I feel confident that the problem has been solved. And if there are any issues, the work is guaranteed for a year. read more

My experience was good. I called at 10am on Friday and the plumber was able to arrive by 12:00. Fixed the faucet in my shower that had been installed by a friend improperly. The price was a bit high but it was an emergency situation since we had to shut off water to the entire house. read more

Last review I wrote was when we used MP plumbing on a real estate transaction for a client. I was so impressed that I know I needed some plumbing fixes around my residence so gave MP a call. Thoroughly impressed with the plumber-Mike-. Just very happy to find a honest plumber who gets the job done at a reasonable price. Thought I needed to snake a drain and Mike showed me how to pull the stopper and fixed drain issue without need of snaking. We also identified that the leak I was concerned about was from the appliance and not the plumbing. They also gave me $25 off for my first time utilizing their company. I called July 27, 2020 to have an estimate for completing a new bathroom. On Sept 3 after 13 emails, a site visit, and several phone calls, I was told they would definitely get a quote within 3 business days. After 4 days, I called and told it will likely be another week before they could provide a quote! They are missing several people this week and uncertain when they could get me a quote. This what I have been told since July! Another plumbing firm came out and provided a quote in 30 minutes. I should add, we have used MP Plumbing several times for my self and family members. I have called upon MB plumbing for many years since they did the plumbing for our basement remodel. I had a shower fixture that had steadily been growing hard to use; the diverter left a spray coming from the faucet and the lever was becoming stiff and hard to turn. I described the issue over the phone and Mike talked to me quite a bit to identify the maker for this fixture since there were no identifiers. It had been replaced prior to our buying the home in 2006. He offered some options and he called some suppliers to try to identify a replacement. The appointment was set for the next workday- a Monday- Gene arrived promptly with replacement in hand. There was a glitch with the faucet diverter and he made a quick trip to a nearby supplier and returned with the piece needed. The fixture was in perfect working order in a very short time. On a whim I picked MP plumbing. I needed a plumber and fast. Two of our three toilets were making some crazy noises and the constant trickling of water was driving me nuts! My water bill also started creeping up. I did a quick yelp search, held my breath and called. (we've had issues with plumbers in the past). MP had a plumber out to me in 1/2 an hour. Laramie came in took a quick look and knew exactly what the problem was. I had colorox tabs in our toilet tanks! NEVER EVER use those. Turns out they eat through the toilet parts and cause problems. Lesson learned. Laramie rebuilt my three toilet tanks in about two hours. He was extremely nice, explained everything and kept my house clean. I highly recommend MP plumbing. read more
