    Carne Arepa
    Elizabeth G.

We got a carne arepa at the Hoboken arts & music festival. The arepa was great and actually had a lot of meat in it, and the people working the stand were very kind. I just think they're a bit overpriced. The carne arepa was $14

This was a more than pleasant surprise to see this Colombian food truck with fresh made corn cakes made as a grilled cheese. The chicken was shredded and held the garlic dressing with a different non-spicy flavor. My friend tried the original and was equally enjoying her first ever Colombian style - of a sorts - maize arepa. You could tell they are not regular store bought Latin Supermarket type corn cakes. The cashier and cook greeted us with big welcoming smiles. They definitely know how to serve you and make you feel curious to try their food. This food truck's fire engine red and black logo pulled me right in. And when I confirmed my own suspicions this was a Colombian establishment, I looked no further to satisfy my tummy. We also had their passion fruit and mango drinks that were indeed refreshing. So do some vallenato dance steps and boogie yourself over to a great food festival treat the next time you see them pop up as a food vendor at your next event. June 8 2024 was a gorgeous, sun filled day at the NJ Motorsports Park in Millville! They said they'd be back down here again next year.

I tried this at a street market in Harlem and holy cow the pernil arepa blew my mind. It was so good I wish they had a location near me because I would go all the time to get more.

I had an amazing arepa with cheese and pepperoni. Great taste and it was big enough to be a bit filling. I would recommend to give them a try if you can, they do pop ups at locations. I love when they are a part of midnight market! (A foodie party)

Overpriced and poor quality. Food was fair at best. Customer service is lacking. Will not be ordering again.

I was treated very, very well in helping me choose today's lunch special selection. Everything was outstanding; a nice portion of pork, ribs, yellow, rice, and beans, and as other reviewers stated the empanadas must tried! Plenty of leftover go home. I also had the plantains plus a sugar cane drink with lime that was outstanding.

Mana is a nice space with a huge mural painted on one wall with several tables spread out in the restaurant with a comfortable distance between them. To the right is the counter where you order and pay. The restaurant is clean and welcoming and I would have been happy to dine in had I not been running errands. The food is mostly laid out on a steam table behind the counter. I saw different kinds of chicken, pernil, potato salad, green salad, empenadas and more. I wound up ordering yellow rice with black beans and a baked chicken leg. I also ordered a side of Maduros and a chicken empanada. Here's how I found everything (keeping in mind I took it home to reheat before I ate it): Chicken Empanada Unlike most empanadas I get nowadays, this one seemed to have been fried, with a crispy, yellow outer shell. The crunch was fantastic and I really liked the flavor. The chicken inside was super tasty and I immediately wished I had ordered another of these. Maduros I LOVE a good plantain but they are surprisingly hard to find. I would say if I go to five restaurants with them perhaps only two will have really good ones. Maduros should have a nice chewiness, maybe even a bit of caramelization on the outside with a wonderfully sweet flavor. I am happy to report that Mana has exactly this and it was great! Chicken & Rice with Beans The rice with beans were good and had some veggies mixed in. I've had better and I've had worse, so this falls straight in "B" territory. The chicken was the same - tasty, well cooked, moist but the flavor was average. Flavor-wise this is a good dish (not amazing). That said, the *serving size* was tremendous and there was enough rice for me to have over two meals and for that it deserves high marks! I really enjoyed the food from Mana. Sure it's not the best ever, but it was good and priced reasonably. I'd definitely go again.

If you're a fan of Hugo's, you'll absolutely love Caído de el Cielo. The décor is Soo cute, creating a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. While the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license (though you can likely bring your own), they serve a delicious chicha morada, refreshing lemonade, a variety of Peruvian sodas, and your typical American soft drinks. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming staff and excellent service set the tone for a great dining experience. The portions are generous, too! We kicked off our meal with the "Trio Causa," a traditional layered potato dish seasoned with ají amarillo and lime, filled with chicken, tuna, and seafood, topped with pickled onions. It was super yummy! For the main course, we had the Arroz Chaufa, a seafood stir-fry rice dish that stole the show. This dish is loaded with seafood- crab, large shrimp, mussels, and calamari, enough to easily share among 2-3 people. We also tried the Lomo Saltado, and wow! The sauce was incredible, and the steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking, but don't let that deter you from experiencing this wonderful place. If you love Peruvian food as much as I do, you won't want to miss it!

Parking is a bit challenging though and their AC was not properly working at the time of my visit (a bit uncomfortable). Among the dishes we tried are as follows: Their Anticucho is phenomenal, it's a beef grilled heart served with fried-boiled potatoes and corn. Choritos a la Chalaca was good, its mussels marinade with lime, served with red onions, tomatoes and cilantro. Lastly, the Jalea was good as well, these are deep fried seafoods (fish, crabs, mussels, etc.) served with onion salads. I will definitely go back next time to try other lists in their menu specially their ceviche. Well recommended Peruvian place!

We ordered two margaritas during happy hour (Monday-Thursday, 11 AM-5 PM) and they were solid, especially at 50% off. The bartender was clearly juggling a lot but still managed to keep the drinks coming and the service pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the start. After waiting about 30 minutes for our bandeja paisa and already feeling pretty hungry, we ordered beef and chicken empanadas to hold us over. They were flavorful and came out fairly quickly. When our entrées finally arrived, both steaks were cold and overcooked despite requesting medium. The chicharrón lacked seasoning, the rice was cold, and the beans were underwhelming. Overall, the service at the bar was fine, but the long wait and disappointing entrées took away from the experience. At $28 per dish, I expected better quality and temperature. While the discounted cocktails were a plus, the food simply did not justify the price and we probably won't be coming back even though we live nearby.

10/10 - Truly the best Colombian food around!…read more Sabor de Mi Tierra is absolutely top notch. We've been coming here since the pandemic -- they opened just a week before lockdown, and we supported them with takeout back then. Once we were able to dine in, we've been coming back nonstop ever since. The food is incredible, hands down the best Colombian food in the area (and honestly much better than Noches -- less salty, more flavorful, and always consistent). Everything is on point whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My go-to is the carne asada con arepa y queso, and my wife always gets the huevos rancheros. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is just as amazing as the food. Every single server is kind, welcoming, and so sweet. Our favorites are Liliana and Jennifer -- total sweethearts. The owner, Carlos, is wonderful too. Every time we walk in, we feel like family. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively. I was greeted promptly by a friendly young lady at the front and she suggested that I try the beef empanadas. They only cost a few dollars so I went ahead and bought two. So as I walked to the car, which was conveniently parked in the lot behind the restaurant, I immediately unwrapped my empanada. At first, I thought it was going to be like other empanadas that I've tried which have a crispy shell however these empanadas are similar in a way, but are very different in texture. These empanadas are a bit softer on the outside and have a denser inside filling which include potatoes and beef and it was quite delicious. I thought I could eat both of them, but after one I was full. I will definitely be back to the restaurant since I'm always in that area and it's literally five minutes from where I live. I can't wait to try other items on their menu.
