A 3rd ECM was shipped out but before it arrived Heffner had the 2nd unit programmed & installed it. After 8 days I was concerned with all that Heffner had to deal with that along with a new taillight being replaced was going to be OUCH! Heffner Automotive came through & the entire bill was less than the car rental. Being on the road & working in the pipeline industry we've come to expect the worst case scenario from auto repair to fast food. Unfortunately it comes with the territory. Two weeks prior a coworker took his truck to the dealership & in 8 hours (One day in the shop) his bill was $2207 for some front end work. Heffner Automotive in Lebanon, Pa. is damn good & a very trustworthy shop to take your vehicles.

The staff there are friendly, explain what problems you're having, go out of their way to help you, and are honest and reliable. I could give a number of examples but two always stuck out to me. I had just got a new car and I had the inspection done there. When I picked the car up Bob (the owner) came out and though I could tell he wasn't happy to bring it up, informed me that he had made a tiny nick in the vinyl on my dashboard with the razor they were using to remove the inspection sticker, and he offered to replace the entire dashboard vinyl because of it. It was such a tiny nick that to this day if you asked me to find it I'd have no idea. I never in a million years would have noticed it and I still don't even knowing it is there. Even though he didn't want to bring it up, he did, because it was the right thing to do, and that's one of the many reasons why I trust them. Another example of why these people are wonderful is that at one point my car was making strange noises and I had to leave for a week or two on business with it. I was worried it would die on me during the trip. It was I believe a Saturday (Sunday?) and the repair center was closed, but the guy at the tire shop, which was still open, could tell I was really worried so he offered to take a quick look at it anyway. I brought it in and he checked over it as carefully as he could, gave me an idea of what it was, and said I would probably be fine for the trip. It was, and I got it checked out when I came back. He didn't have to do that at all, but it made me feel a lot better and reaffirmed my faith in their business. I have always been happy with their work and their integrity.

Charlton messaged me back within 15 minutes. I explained that my throttle dashboard light came on, and Charlton said I might need the $70.00 diagnostic test to turn it off and determine the throttle problem. Charlton also asked me about the size of my engine. I scheduled an appointment and canceled it because the throttle light went out. Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing. I appreciated the messaging that helped me determine what my vehicle needed. What's valuable? The excellent customer service in fielding my throttle concerns is worth noting.

I've parked in the same spot every single day for the past two years with no issues. I got home from work around 8 PM, parked as usual, and when I went outside at 8 AM to leave for work, my car was gone. They towed my vehicle 10 miles away and then charged me $300 to get my own car back. The person who claimed to be the manager was extremely rude during the entire interaction. He told me my car was towed because my permit "wasn't shown," even though it absolutely was. He also admitted they towed another car because the permit was "hidden," which tells me they are not even properly checking for permits before towing people's vehicles. When I questioned their pricing, he said that if I needed a tow from the side of the road it would be a "different rate," but refused to tell me what that rate even is. Completely sketchy and suspicious behavior. The fact that they can't or won't provide the standard roadside tow rate raises more concerns about the legitimacy of the $300 charge. I also asked for an itemized receipt and proof that my permit supposedly "wasn't there," and they refused to provide either. That alone says everything about how they operate. This was completely unnecessary, stressful, and expensive--especially when my permit was visible the whole time. Their behavior shows a lack of care, professionalism, and accuracy when towing from residential areas.
