Have booked overnight stays here a couple times when in town for meetings or events in the downtown area. I appreciate the easy check-in at the bar with a free coin for a drink of your choice. The modern, sheik and multi purpose integrated lobby gives a vibe of community. The colors, paintings and furniture is unique and inviting by today's standards but the rooms are extremely small. I've stayed in a fair amount of hotels, these rooms are very minimum which I understand is what the aim is but I prefer a larger space. A couple of parking options, location, price, 24 hour gym, patio floor and flair are what gets the 4 stars.

We loved staying here. I found a great deal on HotelTonight and the reviews had 93% we got free drink tickets for the bar and we were close to everything. The staff were helpful and the rooms were clean. I did not know about Moxy hotels until now but I would love to stay at another location. Special shoutout to the bartender Leilani! She gave us great service and recommended some cool spots to check out for our day in San Francisco. Thank you Leilani! All the spots had some amazing views We loved the artwork, decor and games. We played foosball, connect 4, and enjoyed their second floor rooftop patio. This was walking distance to coffee shops and food. I highly recommend this place. Great value and great quality I loved it. We were pleasantly surprised

You are welcomed by the atomic smell and hip atmosphere of this chic Marriott Hotel. Recommed to valet your car or park in the patrolled lot catty corner. You get two free drink tickets upon check-in. Staff are friendly and hotel is clean. The rooms a small with minamist vibe. There is a rooftop area, gym, a few games and plenty of seating in the lobby. Views are not great as the area is not the best. I have stayed here several times when I attended concerts at the Paramount as it is walking distance (about two blocks). I have always had a good experience at the Moxy!

So reading ahead of time some of the reviews I had mixed feelings. But we needed somewhere close to the Paramount Theater and this is literally 5 minutes away walking. It was a Tuesday night, so we got the room with a king size bed for pretty cheap. Around $120 for the night. It is Oakland, so having a parking lot to park your car that is gated and locked is def a plus. I didn't have to worry about any break ins as I've read it's been an issue in the city. There is security at the entrance, they did a great job being present and even saw them kick someone out who wasn't a guest. Workers were nice, bartender at night was super friendly and made some amazing drinks. He even created something for my wife since she's a picky drinker, and she loved it. Food is very limited, but we had the pizza and I will say it was amazing for just a bar pizza. Luckily DoorDash and Instacart can bring you anything you need directly to the hotel. Ambience and decor is awesome, really makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. There's music playing, couches to sit in, tons of games to play. Just a nice place to relax. Rooms are a little small, but the shower was huge, and for one night not a big deal. The rooms are definitely furnished for their size, almost all the space has a purpose. Where I probably won't have a reason to go back, if you find yourself in Oakland definitely recommend.

This is a nice hotel. Great ambiance. Has a few nice sitting areas with a foos ball table. A stage to relax and chill. Has a nice bar inside. However the bar is only open Thursday evening through Saturday. So if you arrive a different day of the week no bar service. Rooms are nice Love the decor. No closets tho. But beds are comfortable. Big screen TVs and most rooms with a good view of the city. Has an outside balcony area on the second floor to sit out and relax as well. Parking is in a private lot across the street that security monitors and locks and only they can let you in and out so keeps your car safe. Just needed a drink after a meeting on a Wednesday. Lol. Enjoy

Stayed here for a few nights and loved it. The crew, interior design and rooms are all amazing. I would definitely stay here again and again. Also; they have parking right across the street that is safe and secure. I highly recommend the Moxy, in Oakland.

We booked this hotel because of location that's so close to the paramount theater. Really reasonably priced hotel with fun quirky atmosphere. Upon checking in they give you a free drink ticket for beer wine or a drink from their little market. Staff was great and offered recommendations for things near by. There was a DJ and games in the lobby which was really fun. Room is very small but comfortable. Each floor has a supply closet so you can help yourself to towels, toiletries, blankets etc. Our only issue was that even though we set the air to 65 degrees our room never got cooler than 77 degrees which made it very uncomfortable and hard to sleep. I'm hoping that was just our room. Despite this we will probably give this place a try again because of the reasonable price and friendly staff.

This review is for the bar area only, not a hotel stay. The bar itself is not very big, however the bar area is big and has plenty of space and seating. There's unique art and a small room with seating where you can take pictures. There's a foosball table and a few table top games such as connect 4. The bartender Betty makes thee best drinks and even whipped me up a signature drink of her own creation. Both were outstanding. She seriously makes the best drinks I've ever had in my life. Unlike most cocktails that taste like alcohol and something, these drinks have layers of flavors that entice the pallet. I don't know how she does it. My cocktails were $14 a piece and well worth it. There's a cute little snack bar with free apples and goldfish crackers and other things you can purchase. There's also a small offering of local patisseries. Parking can be challenging though.

Check-in and out process was easy. I like that the check out time is at 12 pm, too. Staff were friendly and you get a complimentary drink for your stay. I was able to get an early check-in luckily! They have some nice working areas in the main lobby. Rooms were clean and nice. Bathroom was well lit and had nice interior as well. You get to grab any towels or other bedding's in their stash closet. I didn't get a chance to check out their gym but won't be opposed to checking into this hotel in the future!

Love the moxy hotel chain! Stayed here for one night while visiting family in the Bay Area. Due to the short stay I was not able to use their facilities! I loved how the check in is a bar such a cute concept. On check in they also gave a free drink ticket which I thought was pretty generous. Big plus for this hotel being dog friendly. They also have a parking lot that they monitor that's across the street. They charge an extra fee per night. Surrounding area not so great but hotel is super cute and modern!

This is hands down of the cutest and hippiest hotels I have stayed in a long time. While this easily should be a 5 star review I am deducting one star due to the shower not getting hot enough. Another thing which was a downer was the desk chair, it wasn't comfortable especially if you have a lot of computer work to do. Amenity and Restaurant/bar 5/5 Check in and valet parking a solid 5/5 Cleanliness of hotel and room 5/5

    The lobby

Stayed here one night. The place it self is a vibe. Very cute & fun. Check in was easy & smooth. The staff were super friendly & helpful. The room was clean and comfy for two people. Check out was easy and fast. I didn't stay long enough to use the other amenities. Cons- the parking lot is a bit sketchy. You park across the street in a lot. It's also about $50 to use their parking lot and there's not any other safe options to park anywhere else. The parking lot fee is also not mentioned anywhere. I didn't find out about it till after check out when I saw the charge. The elevator was also broken.

Color and creativity dance boldly in the lobby and throughout the establishment. This fun and funky hotel infects everyone with a spirit of excitement. So many cool features and games to name in a post. The tiny rooms have me rethinking accommodations; do I really need that much space in a hotel room...?!!? Maybe not.

They actually had a room ready and let us check in one hour early. To keep this review brief, I decided to just give the pros and cons and add informative photos. Pros: comfy king bed, big closet, large safe, microwave, fridge, keurig, quiet room, open balcony, San Francisco Bay Trail below our balcony, large bath with separate shower, Exercise room with no free weights, Quench water machine, EV chargers, snack/drink machines, morning breakfast/coffee served (worth skipping). Cons: No USB ports in the room?! Hotel is fairly close to the sketchy side of town (homeless camp 200 ft from hotel). No cold bottled water for rewards members, no pool, no airport shuttle, carpeting instead of laminate flooring, paid parking, our thermostat was really glitchy and would not work. Added benefit: your hotel key gains you access to the Executive Inn and Suites next door. There you will find a small pool/hot tub. There's also a small bar that opens at 5pm (happy hour 5:30-7:30) and you can order food as well. A Monday night stay was $325 and they charge $17 a day to park in their lot next to Hwy 880, not in a garage. I thought the rate was fairly high considering it's not the closest hotel to the airport and it's in the sketchy part of town. Check out the photos.

The most concerning aspect of the situation is the apparent lack of security measures. There are no visible security presence or cameras in the parking area. This leaves guests feeling completely vulnerable. While filing a police report, I was told incidents like this are not uncommon in the area, which makes the absence of basic safety precautions even more absurd. Despite the severity of the situation, the hotel did not provide any meaningful support or reassurance afterward. Safety should be a top priority for any hotel. America's gotten quite expensive for some of the things that are basics in other Asian countries. Four stars though because they could make some of the things a little bit more accessible if they're gonna make some of the other things that much more expensive. My checkin experience however proved underwhelming due to visibly unmotivated staff -- including the security guard -- tighten up folks (she was nicer than the receptionist at least)! Their preoccupation for chisme was off-putting (if not a complete ick). Past the grandiose & masterfully-designed lobby, navigation gets really complex & unintuitive thanks to the maze-like corridors ‍. Elevators were also slower than drip-coffee but extra roomy which was nice! Tap payment accepted. ROOM [King, City View, Fridge Microwave] -- https://youtu.be/xEqX_8QmGHs The layout was inviting & homey, comfortably accommodating multiple guests in seating & storage. It looked clean, felt clean, & the lighting was excellent -- as were many of the amenities. My biggest complaint with this room was its workspace. The tabletop dimensions were inadequate & the chair lacked good ergonomics. The AC system was also a nightmare; partly on the wall & partly controlled on the terminal unit. ‍ They're still using the flimsy, dirty, paper DnD signs here which is a pet-peeve... BED [King] -- good A recharging sleep experience. This mattress had the perfect balance of firmness & support. Comfortable in every sleep position. Sheets, covers & pillows were not on the same levels of quality, however... A very underwhelming set of dressings for such a fine mattress. Bed-side utility was a notable highlight, featuring generous power access with multiple outlets and USB ports within easy reach. BATH -- great High cleaning standards were on display, illuminating a perfect vanity install in this huge bathroom. The towel staging was also a really nice touch. Sink & shower water pressure were surprisingly weak. Otherwise it was a magnificent shower experience: Zero Degree bath products were provided, temperatures were consistently HOT, & the exhaust system was in peak condition. TV SOLUTION/ACTIVITIES -- ok The room featured an impressive 55" Samsung TV with reliable cable service. Its mount was respectable for the easily accessible ports. Yet, the overall TV solution could be much simpler, particularly regarding the dual-remote system, which was as cumbersome as the AC controls... Audio performance was also subpar, making it a struggle to hear movies at a reasonable volume. Consider packing a Chromecast/GoogleTV. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- bad Free & unencrypted WiFi providing dismal speeds. The wireless infrastructure was awful, with cellular dead zones in places like the bathroom. I wouldn't plan on getting much web surfing/work done in the rooms. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 2-5 Mbps download 10-22 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 15 ms latency 7 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- good Not DoorDash friendly. BIGLY Breakfast buffet in the morning Snacks for purchase in-room: microwave (mini) mini-fridge (small) coffee/tea NOISE -- great Perfect sound proofing. LOCATION -- good Smack dab downtown with phenomenal walkability to transit, stores, & eateries. I particularly enjoyed touring the Black Panther party museum & utilizing the nearby WeWork! There's an active security presence, but they were mostly on their mobile . Still the space & surrounding areas felt safe. Valet is $30/day;$50/overnight, while the garage a block away is $24/day. RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $119.98/night Was it worth it? Yes Best part: food & drink Minus the DREADFUL WiFi & apathetic customer service, this was a perfect stay. Tbh nice that it refreshes the air! I wanted to use the tub but noticed that tub was a bit dirty. Found glitter on the bathtub floor, pink mold on the grout. Once I went into the bath, I noticed that the rim of the bathtub has little specks of hair (and they certainly are not mine bc my hair is tied and I did not shower). I wiped it clean before I got in, but I would have hoped the staff would have cleaned it before hand : (

Cons - The tv never worked. I even called down to the front desk and it rang 10 times + but no one picked up. I tried everything on the remote and with the random cords hanging out. The containers in the bathroom had 2 shampoos and 1 conditioner. I was hoping there would be one container for body wash so all I could use to wash my body was the bar soap by the sink. The windows were filthy and need a washing on the outside...it's definitely been a while. The room was clean with the exception that the bath tub looks like it has leftover stuff on the bottom of the tub but its stains but it still looked very funky. The rep who checked me out was definitely not very friendly. Pros - Check in and check out were easy and quick. The location to my company was convenient.

She even showed concern that our room might be too far from the elevator (we're in our 70s). I assured her that the walking was good for us. The door man, Biz, was super attentive. Justin who worked at the Bistro really knows customer service. And those are just to name a few. Every single staff person we met greeeted us with a friendly hello. The hotel is very clean, in a great location and even offered a canteen where you could purchase snacks and some frozen meals. We will definitely be back.
