valet parking is located right at the entrance

I stayed at this hotel during a recent business trip. I was originally a bit nervous because one hears so many bad things about Oakland. However, my stay at this hotel was delightful. The hotel was beautiful and modern. My room was also trendy modern and had a very relaxing vibe. It had a mini bar, a coffee machine and nice quality toiletries. There is also a gym where you can also find a purified water fountain where you can refill your bottle. The hotel is located close to restaurants where you can walk to. The street where the hotel is located is safe and very clean. They also have Valet parking, at $66 per day (with taxes) and In-N-Out privileges. However, once I had my car parked by the valet, I never drove while I was staying at this hotel because I was concerned about break-ins. Since I was part of a larger group and we would go out dining in the evenings, for transportation we would use Uber because there are many locations in Oakland, where it is not safe to park your car because it might get broken into. We also have some nice group dinners at Drake's and at Nido's garden. This was a nice change from our usual stays at San Francisco hotels. The staff at the Kissel was also very attentive. I enjoyed meeting the older gentleman who helps with the luggage storage, he cracks very funny jokes! I would definitely come back to this hotel, overall a very good experience.

I was in the neighborhood and stopped by this spot for a drink. The ambiance was amazing, definitely a place to take cute photos. The bartender and server were super friendly and attentive. My cocktail was good but 30 bucks for a margarita was not something I would do on a regular.

I had higher hopes for this hotel. It is in a prime area which is great. I called about valet before hand and its around $55 car $75 bigger thats crazy knowing the risk of parking in that area. I will say the lobby and restaurant/bar is nice. The front desk was really nice as welll. My reservation needed to be changed and they assisted quickly. They do charge you a resort fee i believe its $17 but $10 you get to spend on drinks or snacks my one iced tea was $10. But still makes sense to use it. The room was pretty small for a king. I did like the shower. I get using colored makeup towels but mines did look like they had bleach on them. Some of the furniture looked dated. They do provide water in the room since they have a refillable station thats a plus.OMG the refrigerator was so small i couldnt fit my apple juice in there. I just wish the rooms were as upscale as the lobby.

I stayed here for 2 days. Overall it was a nice experience. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating especially when I was asked to extend my stay for another day. If it is your first time ever at the hotel they give you these coupon cards for a certain percentage off the drinks. Also another coupon was for a bag next door. Unfortunately I did not go get a drink since I was alone (social drinker here), so I'm not sure if the drinks are good or not. The room was spacious since it was just me and neat. Now the AC did take awhile to kick in, so you may want to crack a window open. It wasn't much helpful to do that since it's summertime in the bay. You need your key card to work the elevator. Also they require a deposit so if you booked with a third party you would still need to pay a deposit. I believe the deposit was around 150-165 if I'm not mistaken. I admit I'm not too much familiar with the bay but this hotel was around some eateries. I do suggest maybe having a car for more conveniency opposed to walking. I'll stay here again, the only downfall was how long it took the AC to kick in because I was baking like a baked potato in the room for some time. I'm not sure if it was because it was hot overall and everyone had the AC running at the same time or what. I would stay here again. I like the location and also the room overall I had a "mini city view somewhat", for the price it wasn't bad to me.

    Beautiful night from my patio!

They actually had a room ready and let us check in one hour early. To keep this review brief, I decided to just give the pros and cons and add informative photos. Pros: comfy king bed, big closet, large safe, microwave, fridge, keurig, quiet room, open balcony, San Francisco Bay Trail below our balcony, large bath with separate shower, Exercise room with no free weights, Quench water machine, EV chargers, snack/drink machines, morning breakfast/coffee served (worth skipping). Cons: No USB ports in the room?! Hotel is fairly close to the sketchy side of town (homeless camp 200 ft from hotel). No cold bottled water for rewards members, no pool, no airport shuttle, carpeting instead of laminate flooring, paid parking, our thermostat was really glitchy and would not work. Added benefit: your hotel key gains you access to the Executive Inn and Suites next door. There you will find a small pool/hot tub. There's also a small bar that opens at 5pm (happy hour 5:30-7:30) and you can order food as well. A Monday night stay was $325 and they charge $17 a day to park in their lot next to Hwy 880, not in a garage. I thought the rate was fairly high considering it's not the closest hotel to the airport and it's in the sketchy part of town. Check out the photos.

Everything was what I remembered it to be except that this visit was relaxing! I was on the 3rd floor right across from the elevator which was convenient and had a beautiful balcony to enjoy the relaxing view! The room was king bed with water view and there's everything you need to make your stay comfortable, refrigerator, safe, microwave, coffee maker, sofa, large desk, coffee table, drawers and a separate closet, separate bathtub and shower. I also had a mobile massage from my CMT and later that night, enjoyed a nice bubble bath in the tub! The only thing missing in my room was a usb outlet on the bedside table. The outlet was on the desk so you could plug in your cube or charger. Complimentary breakfast the next morning 6-9 am weekdays was good with scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, cereal, instant oatmeal, fruit, bagels, muffins, waffle you can make, coffee, tea and juices. Parking is $15 per day. Another tip is that you are able to use the pool and hot tub next door as they are sister hotels (Executive Inn and Suites). Next door as salmon/steak dinner most nights except Sundays and holidays and they also have a bar. I would recommend this hotel to any visitors coming to Oakland.

Ambiance: it is a beautifully decorated with much Oakland and City vibes. I'm not sure when they were established here but it looks brand new. The rooms are clean and spacious. Service: it's great. Walked up to the front desk and I was checked in within five minutes. There were a couple of people in line but, I hardly waited. There is a restaurant in the hotel and may I say you should order their five layer chocolate cake? It's delish! This hotel also has a lovely event space. One con for some people might be that you can hear the music from the event from the lobby to the second floor. I didn't mind it though. I'd stay here again. Note: parking fees are different whether you are doing self parking or valet. We chose Valet! Great service!

You can do mobile check in on the app and there is also a mobile key. I am a Diamond member and while I would not say it was the friendliest Hilton I've ever experienced it certainly wasn't bad. My quibble. The door on some of the rooms are overcut. The airgap at the bottom seems like a bit of a security issue. Although one could say the lack of one could also be viewed as a security issue from another angle. A couple conferences were in town at the same time I was staying here so the bar area was a touch overcrowded with the normal tech business. Some of the drinks were wandering out into the main lobby area. Where they sat for a couple hours with stray napkins, etc. It seems like a basic commuter Hilton for people who for whatever reason find themselves with the necessity of staying in Emeryville or get a better deal than springing for SF. The bed was comfortable. The room itself was clean. Check in and check out were smooth and unremarkable. The room had a tub. My preferred getting clean option! If I was a tourist I would probably be a little underwowed. But I'm not, so it was just fine. If you are a tourist considering this hotel know it's nothing fancy but it is near the shopping mall that is Emeryville and for that reason everything will be pretty easily accessible. 4/5 for lobby cleanliness but otherwise perfectly serviceable. We came back from watching fireworks at around 9 o'clock and the bar was supposed to close at 10. It had already closed by the time we got back there we were hoping to have a quick drink. We are also very disappointed that nobody knew anything about a shuttle that could have taken us down to the end where the park was so we could watch fireworks. I think that the staff was friendly enough, but didn't have a lot of knowledge about what was going on. It would've made it a lot easier for us if we've had the information about the shuttle so we didn't have to carry our chairs over a mile to the park. The street also was closed which we were not informed about. The refrigerator barely kept our food cold. I was very disappointed in this place.

This is something that one should ever have to experience, especially when visiting a new area or being displaced. The most concerning aspect of the situation is the apparent lack of security measures. There are no visible security presence or cameras in the parking area. This leaves guests feeling completely vulnerable. While filing a police report, I was told incidents like this are not uncommon in the area, which makes the absence of basic safety precautions even more absurd. Despite the severity of the situation, the hotel did not provide any meaningful support or reassurance afterward. Safety should be a top priority for any hotel. Upon my arrival, about an hour after check in is allowed, I was told by front desk staff that my reservation had been moved to another hotel (a completely different hotel chain). And, hadn't I received my notification? No, I had not received anything of the sort. Very stressful. (No one cared in the slightest at the AC Marriott.) Because I was moved without my knowledge or consent, AC Marriott covered the cost of the 1st night of my booking. Ok, great. Of course, I immediately contacted Marriott customer service. As I no longer, past that evening, had a place to stay. While customer service was clear on Marriott policy, she was not particularly empathetic to my situation. Brushing it off more as, "these things happen". And, explaining we overbook all the time. It usually isn't a problem. (Well, it was a problem for me at that point in time.) Also, it was specifically stated to me directly that it doesn't matter if I'm a bonvoy member or not because it's a free loyalty program, so why would I matter. While it's true Marriott did their part within the contract to honor the 1st night of my reservation, it was poorly handled by Marriott. This isn't treating your clients well. The other major brand name hotel (not a Marriott property, take your own guess) staff explained the situation much more clearly & were far more helpful in the stressful situation caused by Marriott's poor business practices. Past the grandiose & masterfully-designed lobby, navigation gets really complex & unintuitive thanks to the maze-like corridors ‍. ROOM [King, City View, Fridge Microwave] -- https://youtu.be/xEqX_8QmGHs The layout was inviting & homey, comfortably accommodating multiple guests in seating & storage. It looked clean, felt clean, & the lighting was excellent -- as were many of the amenities. My biggest complaint with this room was its workspace. The tabletop dimensions were inadequate & the chair lacked good ergonomics. The AC system was also a nightmare; partly on the wall & partly controlled on the terminal unit. ‍ They're still using the flimsy, dirty, paper DnD signs here which is a pet-peeve... BED [King] -- good A recharging sleep experience. This mattress had the perfect balance of firmness & support. Comfortable in every sleep position. Sheets, covers & pillows were not on the same levels of quality, however... A very underwhelming set of dressings for such a fine mattress. Bed-side utility was a notable highlight, featuring generous power access with multiple outlets and USB ports within easy reach. BATH -- great High cleaning standards were on display, illuminating a perfect vanity install in this huge bathroom. The towel staging was also a really nice touch. Sink & shower water pressure were surprisingly weak. Otherwise it was a magnificent shower experience: Zero Degree bath products were provided, temperatures were consistently HOT, & the exhaust system was in peak condition. TV SOLUTION/ACTIVITIES -- ok The room featured an impressive 55" Samsung TV with reliable cable service. Its mount was respectable for the easily accessible ports. Yet, the overall TV solution could be much simpler, particularly regarding the dual-remote system, which was as cumbersome as the AC controls... Audio performance was also subpar, making it a struggle to hear movies at a reasonable volume. Consider packing a Chromecast/GoogleTV. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- bad Free & unencrypted WiFi providing dismal speeds. The wireless infrastructure was awful, with cellular dead zones in places like the bathroom. I wouldn't plan on getting much web surfing/work done in the rooms. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 2-5 Mbps download 10-22 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 15 ms latency 7 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- good Not DoorDash friendly. LOCATION -- good Smack dab downtown with phenomenal walkability to transit, stores, & eateries. I particularly enjoyed touring the Black Panther party museum & utilizing the nearby WeWork! There's an active security presence, but they were mostly on their mobile . Still the space & surrounding areas felt safe. Valet is $30/day;$50/overnight, while the garage a block away is $24/day. Cons - The tv never worked. I even called down to the front desk and it rang 10 times + but no one picked up. I tried everything on the remote and with the random cords hanging out. The containers in the bathroom had 2 shampoos and 1 conditioner. I was hoping there would be one container for body wash so all I could use to wash my body was the bar soap by the sink. The windows were filthy and need a washing on the outside...it's definitely been a while. The room was clean with the exception that the bath tub looks like it has leftover stuff on the bottom of the tub but its stains but it still looked very funky. The rep who checked me out was definitely not very friendly. Pros - Check in and check out were easy and quick. The location to my company was convenient.
