This hotel is in a decent location, & great price point . Friends and I stayed 3 nights . One night the power went out, we had to switch rooms in the middle of our stay because the shower was stopped up. All these issues were rectified with compensation which we appreciated but I'd try my luck at another property before I came back to this one .

Stayed here for work, there was a convention across the street for a couple of days. Positives: Everyone and I mean EVERYONE who works here were SO nice, friendly and helpful. I didn't encounter a single employee that seemed unhappy or irritated that they were there. My room was huge and clean! My employer paid for the room so maybe it was an upgrade but it was nice! The bed was comfortable and soft. I was on the third floor and could hear the person above me but it wasn't too bad noise wise and that's a big deal for me. Negatives: The shower had very little water pressure. I have long hair and it was hard to wash out the shampoo. The parking. I tried to park in the valet but no one came to help me and I got confused and thought I was doing something wrong. So I left and parked in a garage around the corner which cost me $84 to park overnight for two days. with all the horror stories right now about Oakland, I didn't want to take a chance and try to find somewhere else to park for cheaper and even then I was concerned and worried about my vehicle the whole time since I wasn't able to check on it easily. If the convention continues to be held here, I would stay here again for sure and make sure to find valet.

I stayed couple of nights for business trip. The fact that they lock one of the two entrance (accesable with room key) give pretty unsafe location vibe. Partly updated rooms with carpet, sink, lamps, and wallpapers. But old rusty vibe with old fashion light switch, rusty/scratched up elevators, night stands with drawers that does not shut with bibles, rusty door parts and etc. Thus overpriced. Good service with front desk staffs and friendly housekeeper. Overall experience was ok and would not recommend/prefer to return.

The room is nicely designed and clean, has a nice tv, and nice bathroom. One bad thing is that the outlets are badly worn out had to use electrical tape to hold my charger to the wall with electrical tape.

When I came to check in, the front desk asked if I wanted a good view or quiet spot. I asked him for both and he put me next to a stop light that clicked all night. Guess it wasn't so loud with all the tire burn outs and honking. The room was clean and spacious. Be aware where they decided to put you in the hotel cause it's loud and I had to work at 6am every morning. The bistro is the best and friendliest. Food was great.

I enjoy my stay at the Courtyard. In general all the staff members were professional and welcoming. My room was clean and had travel sized bar soap, and lotion. The room included a coffee/tea machine and mini fridge. There is a café, pool and gym on the property. No microwave or safe. There is no self parking option. Valet was $53 a night after tax. Street parking is available, but this area is high risk for car break-ins.

Well..... I have stayed at Courtyard Marriott Downtown Oakland several times as it's near Alta Bates medical center. Every time I have stayed here in the past it was a good experience. This most recent stay will mark my last. The check in staff were very friendly. The room was in BAD condition. I tried to reach out to housekeeping, but it must have been too late. My wife just happened to have anti bacteria wipes in the car. We are the kind of people that are NOT germ concerned and DO NOT wipe everything down everywhere we go. We actually should probably be a little more concerned, but that's another subject. The surfaces in the room were so DIRTY! I spent 30 minutes wiping everything down. GOT THE PICTURES TO PROVE IT. I have never seen anything like this, especially during a PANDEMIC. When I checked out I wanted to mention it to the manager. Again the staff at the front desk was very nice. MANAGER WAS TOO BUSY TO TALK TO ME, TOLD THE STAFF GIVE HIM $30 OFF HIS PARKING. I guess this is the approach this facility takes when a customer has a sincere concern, throw a few dollars at it and tell them I'm busy. Well..... they lost my respect and my business. If a manager does not have 90 seconds to listen to a customer with a pretty serious concern, that's a pretty sad business model. So, I guess I'll be staying at this nice boutique place I found in Berkeley for about the same price next time.

They actually had a room ready and let us check in one hour early. To keep this review brief, I decided to just give the pros and cons and add informative photos. Pros: comfy king bed, big closet, large safe, microwave, fridge, keurig, quiet room, open balcony, San Francisco Bay Trail below our balcony, large bath with separate shower, Exercise room with no free weights, Quench water machine, EV chargers, snack/drink machines, morning breakfast/coffee served (worth skipping). Cons: No USB ports in the room?! Hotel is fairly close to the sketchy side of town (homeless camp 200 ft from hotel). No cold bottled water for rewards members, no pool, no airport shuttle, carpeting instead of laminate flooring, paid parking, our thermostat was really glitchy and would not work. Added benefit: your hotel key gains you access to the Executive Inn and Suites next door. There you will find a small pool/hot tub. There's also a small bar that opens at 5pm (happy hour 5:30-7:30) and you can order food as well. A Monday night stay was $325 and they charge $17 a day to park in their lot next to Hwy 880, not in a garage. I thought the rate was fairly high considering it's not the closest hotel to the airport and it's in the sketchy part of town. Check out the photos.

When I arrived at the hotel, if I recall correctly, I believe that I arrived early before the designated time to check into my hotel room. However, the woman at the front desk was nice enough to allow me to check in early into my hotel room. When I arrived at and in my hotel room, I liked my hotel room. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The hotel room had a microwave (which I did not use), but was a great amenity, nevertheless. The hotel room had a safe so that I can safely and securely store my valuables, which is something key that I look for when I stay at and in a hotel. When the safe was not functioning properly, I recall that I telephoned the front desk, and the woman that I answered the telephone promptly addressed the issue, and an employee from the hotel immediately arrived at and in my hotel room to repair the safe in my hotel room. The hotel is a relatively short walk from an eatery labeled "Brotzeit Lokal." This hotel did also serve complimentary breakfast, which was a huge plus. As a result, in general, and overall, I had a very positive experience at and in and regarding the Best Western Plus Bayside Hotel.

Super close to walk to all the things there, so which we loved. -Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms had a mini fridge and ours had somewhat of a living room situation. -Free breakfast that had quite a bit to offer. Negatives -Bed was extremely firm. I actually woke up sore the next day. -Wall's are very thin. We had some loud neighbors going on late into the night on a Wednesday. -Our room was SO warm. It was really cold out yet no matter how low we turned the thermostat the temperature never got below 74. We are people who like it cool when we sleep so between the firm bed and warm temp we didn't get much sleep. Extra note parking was available on site for $40 or you could parking in the Bay Street garage for $25. Given the positives I think we would give this place another try especially if the thermostat was working.

Ambiance: it is a beautifully decorated with much Oakland and City vibes. I'm not sure when they were established here but it looks brand new. The rooms are clean and spacious. Service: it's great. I'm writing this review based largely on how Hyatt House responded afterward. I would strongly advise others to think twice before staying here. While in the parking lot, I was robbed at gunpoint. This is something that one should ever have to experience, especially when visiting a new area or being displaced. The most concerning aspect of the situation is the apparent lack of security measures. There are no visible security presence or cameras in the parking area. This leaves guests feeling completely vulnerable. While filing a police report, I was told incidents like this are not uncommon in the area, which makes the absence of basic safety precautions even more absurd. Despite the severity of the situation, the hotel did not provide any meaningful support or reassurance afterward. Safety should be a top priority for any hotel. You get a seven dollar credit for your room to spend at the snack bar, but everything it's damn there at least eight dollars. You can get a bag of chips or a candy bar. They do offer complementary waters, coffee, and tea in the room and water refill stations on every floor. There's a gym on the third floor. The amenities in the room are lovely. Ample chargers because you know us Americans like our electronics at full blast. TV on the wall and a nice little desk to work at. A cool capsule closet. Sliding door for the bathroom and one of those European half open showers Aside from the price of everything, this place is perfection. Now I can't blame them on the price. America's gotten quite expensive for some of the things that are basics in other Asian countries. Four stars though because they could make some of the things a little bit more accessible if they're gonna make some of the other things that much more expensive. Everything doesn't have to be expensive and I think that seven dollar freebie when everything on the menu except for candy bars in a bag of chips is eight dollars, left a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth. All in all, I'll stay here again if it's close to a location where I'm doing work, but I won't just come out here on a regular night just because no matter how nice it is. Got to save my dollars but if you've got the money, please enjoy for the rest of us.

My checkin experience however proved underwhelming due to visibly unmotivated staff -- including the security guard -- tighten up folks (she was nicer than the receptionist at least)! Their preoccupation for chisme was off-putting (if not a complete ick). Past the grandiose & masterfully-designed lobby, navigation gets really complex & unintuitive thanks to the maze-like corridors ‍. Elevators were also slower than drip-coffee but extra roomy which was nice! Tap payment accepted. ROOM [King, City View, Fridge Microwave] -- https://youtu.be/xEqX_8QmGHs The layout was inviting & homey, comfortably accommodating multiple guests in seating & storage. It looked clean, felt clean, & the lighting was excellent -- as were many of the amenities. My biggest complaint with this room was its workspace. The tabletop dimensions were inadequate & the chair lacked good ergonomics. The AC system was also a nightmare; partly on the wall & partly controlled on the terminal unit. ‍ They're still using the flimsy, dirty, paper DnD signs here which is a pet-peeve... BED [King] -- good A recharging sleep experience. This mattress had the perfect balance of firmness & support. Comfortable in every sleep position. Sheets, covers & pillows were not on the same levels of quality, however... A very underwhelming set of dressings for such a fine mattress. Bed-side utility was a notable highlight, featuring generous power access with multiple outlets and USB ports within easy reach. BATH -- great High cleaning standards were on display, illuminating a perfect vanity install in this huge bathroom. The towel staging was also a really nice touch. Sink & shower water pressure were surprisingly weak. Otherwise it was a magnificent shower experience: Zero Degree bath products were provided, temperatures were consistently HOT, & the exhaust system was in peak condition. TV SOLUTION/ACTIVITIES -- ok The room featured an impressive 55" Samsung TV with reliable cable service. Its mount was respectable for the easily accessible ports. Yet, the overall TV solution could be much simpler, particularly regarding the dual-remote system, which was as cumbersome as the AC controls... Audio performance was also subpar, making it a struggle to hear movies at a reasonable volume. Consider packing a Chromecast/GoogleTV. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- bad Free & unencrypted WiFi providing dismal speeds. The wireless infrastructure was awful, with cellular dead zones in places like the bathroom. I wouldn't plan on getting much web surfing/work done in the rooms. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 2-5 Mbps download 10-22 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 15 ms latency 7 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- good Not DoorDash friendly. BIGLY Breakfast buffet in the morning Snacks for purchase in-room: microwave (mini) mini-fridge (small) coffee/tea NOISE -- great Perfect sound proofing. LOCATION -- good Smack dab downtown with phenomenal walkability to transit, stores, & eateries. I particularly enjoyed touring the Black Panther party museum & utilizing the nearby WeWork! There's an active security presence, but they were mostly on their mobile . Still the space & surrounding areas felt safe. Valet is $30/day;$50/overnight, while the garage a block away is $24/day. RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $119.98/night Was it worth it? Yes Best part: food & drink Minus the DREADFUL WiFi & apathetic customer service, this was a perfect stay. I seriously hope the wireless infrastructure can be tuned up (along with their training program...). I'd love to return & explore more room types. Its just very unsuitable for tech work. highly recommended if you can unplug for a few days. 4/5 @mrstaycation
