Wow - just WOW! I had one of the most incredible dining experiences this evening at Moxie's. This restaurant is great to go to if you want the complete package of great food, awesome drinks and good dessert. The service was absolutely amazing, and our server Jenna was one of the best I've probably ever had. I initially ordered the chicken enchiladas but wasn't a huge fan as there -quite literally- was too much cheese and it felt overwhelming. I didn't complain though and pushed the plate to the side, however the manager (Saarah) noticed and came over and offered to replace my meal with something else at no cost which was delightfully unexpected. I opted for the beef vindaloo but got it with chicken instead. I am always hesitant to try ethnic food at "American" chain restaurants but my gosh, the vindaloo was on point - I think any person who is South Asian would be extremely proud of that dish! It was spicy but had such an amazing flavour, and the naan bread was different but super yummy. I can't wait to go back here and would highly recommend the food! You can tell that the employees here really care about customer'satisfaction with the food and they are truly kind, genuine people who do their job well and create a lovely dining experience. read more

Service was good once the staff decided amongst themselves who was going to wait on us. The Nashville chicken appetizer was very good. The burger should be an embarrassment to Moxie's. The patty is about the size of a McDonalds patty but less flavour and more over-cooked. For $17.50 you should at least get a burger as big as the McDonalds Angus burger. Very disappointed. Terrific customer service even in the midst of a pandemic. They accidentally gave us the wrong order (beef burgers in place of vegan) and more than made up for it by compensating us entirely for our next order. The ambiance was good and the place looks great. I lot of good looking people serving and eating. The food on the other side was OK almost not good. I got the Bucher Sandwich, the meat on it was terrible. Hard to chew really.The other plate was good my fiance liked it, but it was very spicey for my taste. The draft beer selection was all common beers nothing special. The best was the local bottle beer Boneshaker by Amsterdam. I will not come back. Our waitress was good! Sorry didnt get her name. I want to like this place but I just can't. The drinks are not good. Beer & wine obviously fine but so what, you can have a beer or glass of wine anywhere. The margarita is huge but has only 1oz of tequila so it tastes like a slushy. The white sangria tastes like pop reminiscent of Tahiti Treat. Terrible. The food is mediocre at best. This is my first attempt at a live review! Trying something new on Yelp. Saturday night: 8.10. We've just entered the restaurant and checked in with the hostess for a table (reserved). Wait time was about 5 minutes after that. 8.15 we're now shown to our table which is very very sticky. I would complain to our server, but can't seem to find anyone interested in taking our order. 8.23 server is finally here. As I lift up my arms I begin to feel the pain of the sticky table clinging onto my arm hairs (I'm brown....this is a real problem). Need to see just a dessert menu so server will return 8.25 now we're cooking! Dessert ordered: mini sticky toffee pudding and the small white chocolate brownie. Will return soon with food updates. Better talk to my wife in the mean time and put down the phone! 8.39 dessert is here! See picture. The sticky toffee pudding was quite delicious and the almonds added were great for a bit of crunch. However it was a bit cold and I was under the impression that this was a warm pudding. The white chocolate brownie has always been a staple favourite of mine so I don't have anything bad to say. Just wish I had ordered more! There was a lot of extra whipped cream which dominated the plate and had I entered it into my calorie tracker, my app would have probably exploded. Oh well. 8.47 bill was brought to us promptly and we were ready to leave. Overall a very busy and noisy moxies...then again it was a Saturday night. Went here Friday night, first time ever visiting a movies. My prejudice of moxies was that it's an average restaurant, overpriced due to good looking waitresses. I must say, the food and service was great. Most of the waitresses were indeed very good looking, but more important they treated their customers well and provided good service. Food was great, Only room for improvement is that they should serve bread with the soup as standard practice, not as a separate appetizer. read more

We ordered a bunch of dishes including Calamari, chicken wings, tuna poke, ginger teriyaki rice bowl and Korean fried cauliflower. Everything was perfect. However, our waiter did NOT check on us at all. She even forgot to get us cutlery it was soooo annoying (why does this always happened at restaurants?!!!). Went to Moxie's and ordered my usual (the Peppercorn steak). Moxie's make an amazing peppercorn steak but unfortunately, for whatever reason, my last 2 visits, the steaks just didn't turn out right. The great thing about Moxies Pickering is that they'll go above and beyond to right their wrong but after this last visit I vowed to give Moxies a rest (no longer attend). It just ruins my outing when the food isn't right. I was set in my mind not to come back but was served by an amazing, sweet and energetic waitress who identified herself as "Melissa T". She was so amazing, professional and fun to speak with that she made the whole bad steak experience go away. Terrible experience less than 1 week ago. We sat in the "indoor patio" area, music too loud, crumbs all over the booth seats (so dirty ew), and menus were wet with brown-ish liquid.. looks like some dirt that wasn't fully cleaned off. It took over 45 minutes for 2 simple meals.. tenders with salad, and a sandwich with fries. When brought out, it didn't have everything we asked for (I wanted 2 dipping sauces, they brought 1, boyfriend wanted hot sauce on the sandwich, there was none). The waitress didn't even check up on us, we just sat there 10 minutes being ignored. Boyfriend asked for ketchup, she forgot about it and we had to ask again later. No apology, no cares at all, nothing. Also asked for salt and pepper, there was none on the table. Found a random piece of sundried tomato in my salad and a small piece of onion (not supposed to be in the ceaser salad). They don't give coasters, we got 2 napkins only and had to wipe the table because the drinks were dripping of condensation or whatever. It was just overall a terrible experience, bad service, overpriced very average food we waited forever on.. we could've gotten the same thing at Popeyes in 5 minutes for a fraction of the price. Went to Moxie's Grill and Bar for the first time and am happy to say we all had a marvelous evening. The food came out in a timely fashion and since my husband mentioned that he had egg and chicken allergies the manager went out of her way to make sure that he was given the item he had asked for. The food here can be decent depending on what you order. The pasta is good but the fish tacos are the worst I've ever had. I find it overpriced for the quality of food. I could get better food elsewhere for the same price. The service also really depends on the waiter you get. The first waitress we had was extremely rude, the second waitress was nice. After a poor customer service experience across the street, it was refreshing to deal with an obviously professional crew here. The prices are on the higher side but the quality of the food is worth it. You wouldn't think a beef dip or backyard burger would be much to speak of, but the taste and volume of food were exceptional. The restaurant has two parts; one for general audiences, as well as a considerable portion (itself split in two) set aside as a lounge. We were seated in an area that will likely be open air in the summertime, but which was sealed off with flexible wind breaking clear plastic. The heaters permanently mounted in the roof made the area surprisingly comfortable. Smart move. read more

I'm a big fan of Moxies end this location is the best of the best. The good, service and drinks are excellent. I've tried most of the food on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. The dry ribs and mosaic dip are amazing and consistently excellent. During our most recent visit Dimitiz made us feel welcome and provided excellent service and was engaging in conversation about environmental issues. Half price glasses of wine on Tuesdays are a treat deal as are half price bottles on Wednesday. Keep up the good work. read more

Our family went last night for a late dinner last night. They ran out of ribs which I thought was odd (also was my partners first choice). As a result, she ordered the chicken enchiladas and I ordered the loaded burger. When bring out the enchiladas, they told us they ran out of salsa. As a result the enchiladas were cheesy and bland (I should also note that the manager did not charge us for the enchiladas as we hardly touched them). My loaded burger was overloaded with the sweet bbq sauce which overpowered the burger. Overall a pretty disappointing dinner. read more

The music had such profanity (b..., f..., n....) every songs had those lyrics, couldn't believe my ears that Moxie's would allow such music. This location is great. The atmosphere is fun, clean and the staff are welcoming. We've sat in the dining room, bar area and bar itself. Each area offers friendly and prompt service. Their nearest competitor Jack Astors is always understaffed and you feel it as a result. East Side Marios is gross, no other word to describe a badly managed restaurant which servers who hate life and food that tastes like its been microwaved. My favorite is the Beef Vindaloo which gets you full without that feeling of having eaten too much. read more

Came to meet with my girl for her birthday. It was pretty busy on Saturday but we got a back table in the bar. The atmosphere is very different than the other moxies I've been to with wooden planks and red booths. It definitely is more of a causal feel than the others. It has a great outdoor patio that's enclosed so that you can still enjoy it during the winter. The service was pretty slow but honestly it was the first whole week they've been open. We got the mosaic dip which was nice and creamy. It wasn't too overpowering with the goat cheese. We also shared the white chocolate brownie which was actually baked properly and warm throughout. I do hate how they plate it now though with the chocolate sauce on the bottom drenching it and lack of ice cream. I'd come back for sure as the waitress was really nice and it's local to my house. This was my first time going to a moxie restaurant at 1815 liverpool rd, in pickering I went with my husband today to have dinner we sat by the bar side but our view next to us was the kitchen where we can see everything through the glass window. My husband ordered a burger with side of fries didn't finish his food because the burger was overly salty so he told the waitress who kindly took back the plate. We can see through the glass window one of the chef checking the food which was my husband plate he ate from the same burger spit the burger into his hand took his same hand that he spit into did NOT wash it check everyone food orders as they were there leaving the kitchen he was pushing his hands into there food im assuming to check if people's food was cooked properly this will be my first and last time going to this restaurant. read more

I have been a Moxies customer for 5 years, I've always had good service (except for once) but Dimitri has surpassed all service standards with flying colours! He is an oustanding waiter, very likeable, alert, aware and professional! In that same note, the last time I came with three of my friends we had a female waitress who did the bare minimum and was not satisfactory at all. Moxies is usually a 5 star experience for us, but upon our last visit were sad to discover that the wild mushroom ravioli was taken off the menu! Apparently because it wasn't "popular" enough. We also could not help notice a price increase. The food at Moxie's is great I don't have any issues there, I would give 5* if it would be only about the food. On the other hand, due to the service I am giving them only 2*. This is the 3rd time I am at the Pickering location and in no way or form it is a match to the Sheppard Location. My daughter's and I all have celiac disease, so we ordered the gluten-free burgers with the gluten-free buns, and a side of salad. The manager was wonderful - she came over and advised us that it was safe to eat (no cross-contaminates), but the fries were not, as they were cooked in the same oil with other gluten products. The burgers were absolutely delicious, just wish we had some fries. :) Will definitely eat here again and again. read more
