Cesar picked up and unloaded our Uhaul cube a little while back and I still sing his praises every time I think about moving. I signed up for the service online and at not a single point did I have a concern about the move. Cesar checked in immediately and kept me up to date on the logistical and planning side of things, and busted it out when doing the actual move. All items were treated with care and they trudged up the steps without even a grumble. Professional, courteous, and quick. I've never been so impressed with efficiency as I was watching them haul boxes. Rates were also very appropriate, and you can't put a price on sanity, which helps with the mental toll of moving. read more

These guys were awesome! Efficient, fast and professional. They did a great job in packing things up and arranging them in the moving truck. We only used them for loading the moving truck as we had additional help to unload once we got to our destination. I will definitely be keeping them in mind for any other local moves I may be doing in the future. Rp read more

I moved cross country using UHaul Ubox, and it was a pretty lengthy/difficult process overall, but the final leg was using Moving Labor Cesar it was a huge win and the best part of it all! They went to UHaul for me and transported both of my u-boxes to my apartment on a rented trailer, so i didn't have to deal with UHaul myself, then unloaded everything. They were punctual, friendly, fast, and clear communicators ahead of time. Everything the last moving company that I had was not. Very highly recommend! read more

Cesar is an absolute master in the craft of packing a POD. I hired him to help family members pack for a long-distance move and it was the best decision I could have made. Packing a POD is different from packing for a regular move, because you are trying to maximize every single inch while keeping your belongings safe and secure. It's like a large-scale game of Jenga. Cesar and his crew arrived on time, worked nonstop, had great attitudes, and packed the POD in such a way that it was truly a work of art when they were done. There was no damage when the POD was unpacked at destination. Highly, highly recommend these guys! read more

I have used Cesar and his crew six times in the past six years. I joke with him that I'm his most frequent customer. He has done right by me on every move! He has always been on time and one hell of a hard worker. Seriously - moving sucks but Cesar and his guys make it go quickly and do all the heavy lifting. His son Junior works as hard as his father - plus the others on his team have always been courteous and equally hard working. He does not provide the truck, so you rent a UHAUL and they do the loading and unloading. In my six moves, nothing has been broken or damaged. I also have an enormous piece of cardio equipment called an ARC Trainer and they have moved it into position despite it being bulky and heavy. Cesar is fair priced, especially considering the other moving companies that seem to have jacked up their rates. When you see the work ethic and effort, be sure to reward with a tip as I think they deserve every penny. read more

These guys are awesome! They contacted U-Haul for us to get the uboxes earlier in the day. I really didn't think all our stuff would fit into two uboxes. Right away when Cesar arrived, he asked us which items we would leave behind if it didn't all fit. I was amazed that they got nearly everything packed in the uboxes. Perfect for our cross country move! Can't recommend enough. read more

Cesar is the best! His communication and work ethic are top notch. We hired him to load a Estes Sure Move trailer. He arrived exactly on time, ready to work. I didn't plan properly in terms of how much stuff we had. Cesar filled up the first trailer, packed super well, but we had left over items. Again, no fault of Cesar's, he is like a third degree black belt in packing. He is amazing actually. I ordered another trailer for the next day, and Cesar was able to fit me in to his schedule. He really saved the day. You won't ever meet two harder working guys. Cesar and Junior went non stop and they knew exactly what they were doing. Just sit back and trust Cesar and everything with go well. read more

Absolutely wonderful service from beginning to end!! We used Labor Cesar for our 1 bedroom move in San Francisco and it was the best decision we made. They packed our U-Haul Uboxes with extreme care and efficiency. Cesar was very quick to respond to all questions leading up to the move, and made our moving day a huge success. His crew was friendly and a pleasure to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend booking them for your next move. read more

They're good. I was not happy that they charged me a whole extra hour when we went 5 minutes past the hour... they said that was their policy, though, so what could I do? When they had first shown up at location A, my boyfriend had offered them glasses of water etc., and I guess those precious minutes came at a cost to us. Grumble. However, they were friendly and honest and worked very quickly. I forgot to hand them my Yelp voucher but Cesar was really nice about it and honored it afterwards (which canceled out the extra hour they charged me, so I stopped being grumpy). read more

Definitely recommend these guys!! Last weekend I needed some last minute help moving and I'm so happy I found Cesar! It was so easy making a scheduled date and time for his crew to come and help load the Uhaul. The scheduled moving time was for 11AM, but they had called at 1015AM mentioning they were on their way and would get there closer to 1130. That was perfectly fine since we were still packing up some last minute things. The men arrived by 1115 and HUSTLED! They did not waste any time. I was moving from a second floor apartment unit and these guys were running up and down the stairs!! Cesar himself picked up the full-size foam mattress and carried it down like it was light as air! I was impressed!! When it was time to head out, the guys made sure that everything was secured and good to go. They followed me to the final destination, but kept it in their GPS in case he lost sight of the Uhaul. Once we got to the apartment, they quickly moved everything out of the Uhaul and into the apartment. They were considerate in asking which rooms we wanted the items placed. These guys are highly highly highly recommended! I'll be using them for my next move :) read more

Halfway through packing our moving truck to relocate from Los Angeles to Oakland, I realized I did NOT have the energy left in me to unpack the truck and haul all our belongings upstairs into our new home. I hopped on Yelp, found Cesar, called his cell and made an appointment with less than two days notice...the whole process took 4 minutes tops. The day of the move, the movers arrived on time (they actually got started early!) and got the entire job done in a quarter of the time it would have taken my husband and me. The two guys were incredibly friendly and efficient and took excellent care of our belongings. And the price was so fair that we have plenty of money to tip well...they deserved it! Great service, great price....there are honest businesspeople out there! read more

Cesar & company was great! I had a relatively small moving-appliances-around job, but it needed professional help (move a dishwasher and refrigerator down 30+ stairs to the garage, and bring the new refrigerator up the same stairs). The big moving companies won't touch this job as it's too small for them to roll a truck, but it's just the kind of thing Cesar and his folks do very well. I texted him on Tuesday afternoon, he got right back to me, we discussed the job, and scheduled for the following day. He sent an email followup that night, and on the day, he texted when they began traveling to my house. They showed up 15 minutes into the scheduled 2h start-of-work window, just on time given their travel estimate in the text message. Cesar and Junior didn't dawdle, but they cut no corners either. All the heavy lifting work was done carefully with the right tools (dolly, furniture tiedowns, plastic wrap, moving blankets), and with great care to avoid any damage to my appliances or my house. They tried to avoid any complications or delays, but when it became apparent that we had to take the front door down, and move an outside banister out of the way to complete the move, they had both the tools and the skills to get the job done quickly. Communication about planning, cost, and arrival was clear and immediate, no surprises. He fit me into his schedule immediately, and the work was skilled and trustworthy. I'd gladly use Cesar & his company to get similar jobs done again in the future! read more

We hired Cesar's crew to pack storage containers which were going to be shipped across the country. The crew was friendly and seemed to work quickly. At first, we were really pleased with our decision to hire these guys. We received the boxes at our destination only to find that many of the items were damaged due to poor packing. Many of the items--including; our dining table, HDTV, bed frames, and mirrors--were not properly wrapped in blankets. These items were then stacked (unprotected), which caused significant damage. There were plenty of blankets provided and even some left over but were left in the back of the container, unused. Needless to say, we are very disappointed with our experience. We wouldn't have bothered shipping the items if they were only going to get damaged. We have reached out to Cesar with no response. read more

Moving Labor Cesar - Nicely packed truck! - Movers Near Me - Oakland, California

We liked Cesar so much the first time, we hired Cesar again for our recent move from Foster City to San Leandro. They do not provide a truck anymore, so my husband and I went and picked up a 17' moving van from U-Haul an hour before our scheduled move. I hired 3 men for the move, and they showed up on time (actually, 15 minutes early). We were ready to go, so they got started right away. We had some pieces of furniture that could only fit through the interior doors of our apartment if you flipped and turned them a certain way. Cesar actually remembered from helping us move into the place and he told his guys to flip each piece of furniture the proper way to get it out the door. The move was scheduled to take 3 hours and it took 3 hours and 15 minutes. I hope now that we've bought a house, I will never have to move again. But in case I do, I would definitely, definitely call Cesar again. read more

These guys definitely work hard for your business. I booked 3 hours for them to help me load a 16 foot Budget rental for my move to SoCal. I was only about 80% packed due me being disorganized leading up to the day. I had encountered some delays picking up the truck and Caesars son and crew had shown up exactly on time. Once I showed up with the truck, these guys went straight to work. They came prepared with handtrucks, packing tape, shrinkwrap and handtools. They had me wait out by the truck and they basically finished the last 20% of the packing, including disasssembling the bed and bagging the mattress and remaining furniture with the storage bags I had provided. Even though I had a late start, they hustled and got almost everything secured in the truck exactly on schedule. They saved me a ton of stress by rounding up the remaining loose things I hadn't had time to pack yet. I was so happy with the quality of their work, I tipped all 3 of them $40 each on top of their fair prices. I only wish I could have taken them with me to SoCal to unload. Note: They did all of this without using the loading ramp, due to the rental truck being hitched up to an auto transport trailer, which I didn't feel safe unhooking due to my building being on a hill, and the lack of sufficient parking. This included several very heavy items, including a rolling toolbox that must have weighed close to 150lbs. They moved all of them without so much as a complaint. read more

I just used Cesar and his moving service...just this past weekend. The two men I hired were very punctual, polite and very professional. Mind you this was my third move and so this was the third service I used to help me move...so I was prepared for anything. The two gentlemen hit it off well with my PROJECT MANAGER for the day- Primo (Cousin) Benny! They took direction well, worked fast and were hard working. I only had one small issue...they weren't as equipped as others I've used as far as protecting and moving my heavy furniture. The moving truck did not have a lift gate or on ramp to keep for having to lift my heavy furniture (what if I didn't have other guys helping...it would have been torture to watch them lift a few heavy pieces). Nevertheless, I will be recommending them to friends and family. They still did a great job. read more

We want to echo the praises for Cesar's services! If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have met our moving deadline. Thankfully because of their quick availability we avoided paying extra at our former apt. We are penny pincher's and based on past moving experiences decided to skip the aches and pains of carrying our stuff as well as the truck rental logistics. We called Cesar and were able to schedule a same day move! They were finishing up a move and offered to squeeze us before a later one. He was upfront about the cost, which was based on the description we gave him about our 1 bedroom apt. located on a 3rd floor. He quoted us with a 20% discount: $96 for 2 hours and $60 for each additional hour. I emailed him the addresses and explained we had budgeted a maximum of 3 hours. He quickly confirmed. Both Cesar and Cristian arrived with their truck on time and cleared out our furniture and boxes within 1 hour! They were diligent and worked non stop. We were very impressed with how prepared they were (blankets, plastic covers, tape, hand truck, & bubble wrap). Since our move was from El Cerrito to Oakland the total time for loading, travel and drop off was 2hrs 45 min! We happily paid them $156 and added a well deserved tip;) We feel very lucky other yelper's reviews guided us to Cesar's services. A&A read more

Just met these fantastic guys two days ago. When booking them for two hours for unloading stuff from Upack Relocube, Cesar was extremely communicative, kind and prompt in responding my questions. On the moving date, Cesar took care of my urgent issues without hassles. My moving container was supposed to be delivered before noon on that day. I already booked them and crew was scheduled to come our place at 4 pm. The driver of the container never picked up our calls for 6 hours and made us to wait until 2 pm. I was a bit worried whether the container wouldn't be delivered until 4 pm. At 2 pm, I sought an advice from Cesar and he responded to me immediately saying that he would be able to see the status until 3 pm and then decide whether we have to postpone our schedule. He made me relieved. I was grateful for his thoughtful answers. Fortunately, the driver called me just before 3 pm and I informed him of the status. As scheduled, the crew arrived our place at 4 pm sharp and started unloading stuff from the container. Oh....these guys were extremely professional. They helped in setting up the bed, table, sofa and other heavy stuff like freezer. The stress of moving was finally gone within 1.5 hours. They were really fast! I would highly recommend for others. Personally, I thank Cesar and his crew! read more

These guys were awesome!! I moved here from PA and had a ABF U-Pack trailer shipped. The U-Pack trailer arrival date changed 4 times and Cesar was so accommodating! Once Cesar and his crew showed up, they worked so hard to get it done quickly and with a smile (literally). They are really hard workers at a very fair price, and very nice and friendly to boot. They were also extremely careful to make sure my piano and furniture were not damaged in the process. I will definitely use them again. P.S. When I was in PA I only had these reviews on yelp to rely on since I had no clue who to hire in California. Thanks for the yelp reviews because they did no steer me wrong with these guys! read more

I don't often leave reviews unless the service is great or terrible, but Cesar had SO MUCH attitude. Showed up two hours late. Threatened to leave when I asked why we couldn't leave the UHaul parked in its space across the street in a quiet residential neighborhood (he wanted it parked illegally), knocked over the slats on the couch frame without saying anything. But even those things matter less than the surly demeanor and general unhelpfulness. Just skip the added hassle and hire one of the many competent movers in the area who don't show up with a stick up their ass. read more

Cesar and Ivan showed up early and prepared. They got to work right away, and didnt stop til the job was done. They worked fast and hard, making me satisfied with the job they did (I have hired other movers in the past that get distracted, and when you're paying someone by the hour, you just want them to go go go). I was happy to see them taking 8 to 10 boxes during a single trip. They brought a traffic cone to even make it safer for them to get in and out of the moving truck on the street. They did a FABULOUS job wrapping up my 55inch flat screen (without me asking, and it took only minutes), they were just on it - packing tape and all! I would recommend Cesar to anyone, and would hire him again. Thank you Cesar and Ivan for making my move easier! You guys rock! read more

I had two experiences with Cesar and his moving service - one just OK (but typical for the moving industry) and one awesomely redeeming. Move #1: My bf hired him for an easy, simple move with very little furniture. It took exactly 2 hours and 5 minutes. We were charged for 3 hours. Granted, he made it very clear that they charge by whole hours, but some of that time was spent standing around their truck without letting us know they were ready to go. I believe this is the way they reconcile charging such a low price for the first two hours ($96 for two, then $60 for each hour thereafter). Even though that kind of blew, my bf still sucked it up and tipped them big because they were on time and they did a good job. Move #2: After seeing the job well done (and considering the other moving companies I researched charged 3x as much) I decided to hire Cesar for my move as well. This time though, we made it very clear up front that I wanted a heads up when it was approaching the 4 hours I had allotted. The move was much bigger - an entire one bedroom townhouse, complete with ridiculous amounts of furniture and an extra room's worth of clothes and shoes. These guys busted their asses. Turns out I had to take apart my bed in order to move it, which set us back a bit. When 4 hours was up, I told Cesar that I'd go ahead and finish it myself - the bed was the last part of my move and it was more than 80% done. Cesar sent his hired hand home at 4 hours on the dot and completed the bed for free. About 10 minutes overtime. Definitely made up for the extra hour we were charged, and most certainly worth his price tag overall. Final thoughts on our experience with Cesar: quality, cost efficiency and professionalism. Though a couple of my wine glasses were sacrificed in the move, a great deal of effort was made to protect items appropriately. I will definitely recommend this service to all of my city-dwelling friends. Last word of advice: bring lots of extra cash because you'll regret not having the amount you'll want to tip Cesar and his guys when they're done. read more

AMAZING. I've moved 3 times in the past 18 months. (Thanks Bay Area housing crisis!) I'm basically a moving expert at this point. The first time I moved I hired 2 guys from Commander...it was mega expensive (over twice of Labor Cesar) and they took foreverrrrrr. Never again. The second time I had 2 friends help...it was cheap, but again took forever and we were all totally destroyed at the end of the very long, tiring day. I was straight up determined that this time my move would not suck. And because of Labor Cesar, it was literally nothing short of miraculous! Junior and Victor, the 2 guys who helped out, are like Tetris level 97268425 champions. I never knew a moving truck could be that thoroughly and efficiently packed. They loaded everything into the truck from my 2bd house in Oakland, then we drove to my storage unit and loaded all that into the truck, then drove to San Leandro and unloaded the entire truck into my new place...in 3.5 hours flat. O.O That includes wrapping all my furniture with pads and tape and unwrapping it too!! I had a few friends there just in case, and we were all stunned. Started at 9am, totally finished by 1:30pm. I had no idea that moving could be this quick, easy, efficient, and painless. I'll never move without Labor Cesar again! Tl;dr - FAST, inexpensive, nice, awesome. Hire. Them. read more

Cesar and his crew were fantastic movers. We booked them for 4 hours in mid-October but they got everything unloaded from our moving containers in maybe 2 hours. I had misplaced some bed hardware and they helped open all our boxes (saving additional time later) to help locate them. They then assisted in setting up the bed and a crib. You can tell they've put IKEA furniture together before because it looked like they could do it blindfolded. These guys are professional, friendly, considerate with your belongings, and fast. I would definitely utilize their services again. read more

I called several moving companies on Superbowl Sunday about 4 hours before kick-off and Cesar was the only one who responded. After speaking with him over the phone, he sent me a confirmation e-mail in the afternoon and again the day before the scheduled move, as well as call me a couple of days in advance to confirm. DAY OF MOVE: This could have easily ended up a disaster but despite my crying for half an hour, I am still giving Cesar and his crew 5 stars. He called me about 15 minutes before I expected to see him and told me his truck broke down not far from my home. He apologized, told me his mechanic was already on the way, and asked me to consider my Plan B because he didn't know if he would make it at all. I didn't have a Plan B. I thanked him for telling me, told him I was sorry about his truck, hung up the phone and burst into tears. After a good cry, I loaded as much as I could into my Prius and headed to my new house to drop everything off. Two hours later, I got a call back from Cesar and he told me the truck was fixed and asked if I still needed help to which I shouted YES! Cesar had 2 other guys with him and they got to work right way. They were efficient, friendly, hard-working, professional, and worked great as a team. I think we were all relieved that the truck was back up and running - he and his crew I'm sure were happy to be working and not wasted gas to get to San Ramon to get stuck by the side of the road. And I was over the moon that he called me back to follow through and help me do what I couldn't do. So we actually had fun working together. They were really personable and just good people. I truly appreciated Cesar and his crew. Something crappy happened that was beyond his control and he still reached out with concern to help me with my move. I called a few other moving services and was lucky enough to reach Cesar on the first time I tried calling. He was very helpful and explained his VERY affordable rates. He gave me 20% off the first hour without me even requesting for a promotional rate. I had called on a Sunday and was able to schedule a move for the following Sunday. He quoted me three movers with a 14' truck at $80/hour with $68 for the first hour (aforementioned discount). He told me that he had to charge me $30 for gas since the move was outside of Oakland (Union City to be exact). If the move had been within Oakland, he wouldn't have charged me for gas at all. The day of the move was pretty smooth. Cesar and his two helpers arrived 15 minutes early and ready to go! The move was about four hours total. The only casualty was a scratch of a dresser, which Cesar rightfully offered to pay for. However, I told him not to worry about it since it was a small scratch and it was near the bottom rear of the dresser (an Ikea one at that). I was very impressed with the way they packed their truck of all the furniture and boxes we had prepared for them. The only issue that came up was that we were supposed to make another stop on the way to Union City to pick up another bed. He was pressed for time because he had a second move after me that day. Not a problem since Cesar offered to do it on another day. He said all he'd ask for is gas money. When the move was done, I paid Cesar in cash and added a well-deserved tip for each mover! BTW, he did help me move that other bed as we discussed. I would definitely recommend Cesar to anyone who wanted great service at a discounted rate! read more

Cesar was great! Had a very simple move of 8-9 items or so and this was perfect for what I needed. He helped me move furniture at the destination and they were done ahead of schedule.
