Terrible, 100% awful. Charged me for an hour of travel time (half hour each way) morning of move without prior indication, not including travel time from the job. The two helpers he brought were very nice, but one was a young teenager in a longsleeve black sweatshirt and the other was an older gentleman that physically could not do the work. Took over an hour to park just in front of my apartment, wound up hitting my neighbors car twice, then tried to charge me for the hour of him attempting to park while other two just stood around. Took out a sign in front of my home, then threatened to leave all my belongings on the ground outside my home because walking items up to the 3rd floor was too hard. (Of course it is, which is why I hired movers!) I told him I wasn't paying unless all my stuff was upstairs. He finally called the police and they refused to come out for the civil matter. He finally agreed to take everything upstairs if I gave him $1000 cash and he had to have one of my neighbors help him because his "workers" couldn't. I said I would absolutely not do cash because I don't trust him so I went to get a cashiers check and he still insisted on half in cash so I got receipts. One day later (today) I notice a large, deep scratch on my tv. I message him because my stuff was supposedly insured. He told me making false claims is a crime and to not text him anymore because he's going to the cops with my harassment. For starters, they arrived at 9:45 and charged me for the full hour at $170. We just wanted the large items moved which I showed them but they took it upon themselves to pack clothes in closets, etc., to pad the hours I suppose. They damaged several pieces of furniture badly. They said it would be 100 for travel expenses and charged me 150. This was the first time I ever hired a moving company and didn't research very well. Professionals don't damage furniture the way they did. I would not recommend them. read more

First, they tried to overcharge us for the truck - $250 instead of quoted $150, claiming the size of the truck was larger - no way, jose! Second, they tried to charge us mileage from-to Hampton, not just for the move itself -no way, jose!. Third, the job that should have taken 4-5 hours at the most, took 6.5 hours because they like to talk too much. Fourth, and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard them say, - aren't you buying us lunch? What? - I tipped you well, boys. Even if I haven't, - what a heck?!!! Not to mention that these people don't even have their own trucks - they rent a $40 Budget 24' truck and charge you $150 plus mileage. Worst though was that things went missing after we started unpacking. Amazingly so, those MIAs were packed in the same boxes and bags. Although we didn't check the truck before movers left because the guys didn't appear the kind that steals other people's property, and so we can't prove they took it, but we don't have any guests, so I wonder how could our stuff so mysteriously disappear in thin air. Main office, of course, denied everything. Worst is that main office said they will call the police and file report for "harassing" them when we tried to resolve this outrageous issue. The guy at the office was also playing smart ass throwing fancy words around like libel and slander. LOL. All in all, I wouldn't recommend these people for their lack of loyalty to customer, abuse of trust, inability to admit wrongdoing and rude main office staff. What I would certainly recommend - check the truck before paying movers and make sure you check the bill before signing it. Oh, almost forgot, they don't even have receipts on company letterhead - they handed me a pink receipt slip you can buy at Staples. For your own sake -stay away from Movers and Helpers and hire a reputable Moving company, not these amateurs. read more

Chris called me multiple times until I finally took his call. He told me my move sounded like an easy job and it should be about $450- $150 for the truck and $100/hr plus $1/mile. I said Ok because it was cheap and I was just moving a packed storage bin to a condo. They showed up late because of snow in a Budget rental truck with 2 other guys. It took them 2 hours to load my storage unit onto the truck and another 2 hours to unload it. It must have been one guys first move cuz he clearly had no clue. They asked me to go to the store to get them drinks, which they expected me to pay for, but I made them pay. When I got the bill it was $675!!! They charged $150 for the truck, $425 for 4 hrs @ $100/hr, $90 for mileage (when they said mileage, I thought they meant from the storage unit to my condo, not Hampton to my town!!). They even charged me $10 for 2 rolls of tape!!! They taped bed rails together and a blanket around my table top. I'm certain that was not 2 rolls of tape worth! The huge mistake I made is Chris had me sign the receipt before he filled it in. I was tired and in a hurry, so I never thought anything of it, so I had no choice but to pay it because at the bottom he wrote "ATTN: customer agrees to the terms and content with service provided." That was not written before I signed it. Be Aware Everyone..... Don't sign anything before the job is complete. And definately don't hire these guys to move you. read more
