I requested a quote from Bekin's Yakima to move my household from Ellensburg to Maple Valley with a month of storage. When I received a quote for about $2800 I thought it was reasonable. My bad for not reading the fine print, this quote was to pick up my goods, take them to Yakima and store them for a month. It would be an additional $5500 to move my goods to Maple Valley. I was stunned. And, I have to pay the $2800 or they will keep my things and sell them! The Bekin's Yakima response was that I should have read the fine print!! I'm 78 years old and live on a fixed income. Nothing I have is worth $8300, I could have sold everything, bought new stuff and come out ahead. But, they have my family pictures, my Grandmother's crystal, my husband's Viet Nam medals and things that can't be replaced and don't necessarily have a dollar value. Finally worked out an agreement with a Vice President for a reduced total charge of $5484.99. I feel scammed! On the plus side the crew who packed up my things and the crew who delivered them were outstanding. I would give them 5 stars. I went with Bekin's Yakima because they had moved me from White Salmon, WA to Ellensburg for $1700 and did a great job. Go figure read more

Bekins representative responded promptly and gave me a quote to move furniture across town. They were going to call and verify the move three days prior. When we didn't receive a call we called them and were told we weren't on the schedule but we were in luck because there was still an opening. When they arrived their truck was nearly full and couldn't accommodate all of our furniture. We would have to pay additional to have another truck come out. The driver said we had more than they expected so it was going to cost double what we were quoted. I hear now this common practice for Bekins. I didn't use them and would recommend anyone needing a move to go elsewhere. read more

I received an automatic email notifying me that a representative would contact me shortly. However, I never received a call from a rep.

I am, furious with the moving team which packed our household goods in Spanaway Wa on Nov 10 2009. Once the representative from JPPSO ( Joint Personal Property Shipping Office) left, the crew seemed to morph into the movers from hell. They left my American flag in the dirt and rain in my driveway. as if that weren't enough, they packed things which were not supposed to be packed, but also neglected to pack things which were supposed to be packed. They had one crew member in particular, who made a very derogatory comment, which I overheard and called him on. to be perfectly honest, I can not imagine that I am the only who has had a negative experience with this company. read more

Very hit and miss with place, in my way in to town they unpacked me. Great service, on my way out 3 years later they packed me, and now as I unpack... 60-70 percent of items are great, packed well and marked appropriately... The other 30-40 percent are mislabeled boxes with my items just tossed in them any way but securely.... They took time to wrap a small empty box in paper but some metal and other personal objects not so much.... I wanted to like them, the crew is friendly and the lead guy very professional but some of they're people not as professional or caring.... Also a lot of the things they took apart were wrongly labeled to what they went too so I had to play find the right screws for the right pieces... Also they took all of my cords to every electronic and tossed it in one box and failed to label what any of it went to and then one of them decided to throw a spoil of thread in the box too so in transit it would tangle around every cord in the box... read more

no stars to these unprofessional packers. let it be known yakima county absolutely do not use this company. they do not communicate to each other so when a new crew comes in halfway thru the job they start packing what i specifically said not to pack!!! they dont know how to pack properly. the driver of a different company had to tell them to take the stands off my tv before packing or they will break. really??? are these guys not trained before heading out to a job? this is peoples livelyhoods in their hands packing their life up into boxes and moving, do they not understand the importance behind that?? and they truly need customer service training in their office because as we called to explain our frustrations about packing stuff that wasnt supposed to be packed and got loaded up on the truck the lady kept pointing fingers at the driver and not taking responsibility of her packers. when i tried explaining she wasnt understanding that this happened before the driver even came she hung up on me!! no joke!!! how and why would you ever hang up in your customers thats rude and very unprofessional. i was not yelling or calling names. i was frustrated and wanted her to understand but she didn't want to hear it and hung up on me.
