The massage/bodywork element to her work was exceptionally therapeutic by itself, but I'm really glad that I decided to have her curate a full, intentional retreat. Erin is incredibly intuitive and a gifted healer. I felt very open with her. After only a brief discussion, I found her suggestions for activities while I was there so personally and insightfully tailored to what I was going through. Her recommendations really helped me get lost in "deep time." Checking in with her at the end of my time on Orcas to discuss what I did and the significance I found in it was helpful for me to process it, and our visits framed my trip in a meaningful way. If you want an intuitive soul to help you traverse a meaningful transition in your life, I couldn't recommend Erin more highly.

I tried medications and supplements, chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, hypnosis, biofeedback, psychotherapy, dietary changes, allergy treatments, sleep studies, and, out of desperation, more unverified anecdotal therapies than I can count. Earlier this year I began working with April, specifically for Ketamine injections in conjunction with acupuncture and talk therapy. If my brief story is similar to yours, I highly recommend you consult with her to see if her compassionate style combining psychedelic medication, ancient Chinese medicine and deep reflection opens a deeper self-healing embrace.

This business offers colonic hydrotherapy treatments for cleaning out the large intestine. A closed…read moresystem is used, meaning that warm water is injected into the rectum via a tube and then that water mixed with waste is returned directly to the sewage system via that same tube. I have received several treatments now and they seem to have had a beneficial effect -- my digestion has never been better. I have become much more regular in my bowel movements and I rarely notice any bloating or discomfort in my abdomen. These were symptoms which led me to try colonic treatments initially. Apart from that, the treatment is administered professionally and in a manner which causes no embarrassment. If you have digestion issues, I recommend giving it a try.

I admit to trying a colonic at the Healthy Digestion Centre out of curiosity, wanting to find out…read morewhat it was like. I was very pleasantly surprised. The whole experience was easy, not at all awkward or embarrassing. It was an experience I enjoyed and I eagerly signed up for more sessions. The two practitioners are Michelle and Michele. They are both excellent at working the hydrotherapy machine which circulates water into the colon. They also keep up a good conversation during the 45 minute session and the time passes quickly. On a technical note, the machine is of the closed type which means that the poop and water flow out together through a tube straight to the sewer system so that there are no odours. It is fascinating to watch the lumps pass by through the transparent tube. As to whether the colonic treatments have actually helped my digestion, I am not sure but I think they did. Both practitioners deserve a 5 star rating and I look forward to visiting them again.

She worked on it with a combination of hot stones, her hands and other tools - tuning forks, different bells that are new to me - and for the first time in ages it is pain free and I have full range of motion back. If you're used to "traditional" Swedish or other massages, some of what Roxanne does will be unfamiliar and seem a bit strange. If you can trust that she knows what she's doing (which she does) and experience it, at the very least you will have tried something new but likely, you will feel the benefit. If you don't want those things however - just tell her! She listens well and constantly seeks education on new techniques and healing massage therapy approaches. She also checks in throughput the session to make sure the pressure and other aspects are comfortable and acceptable. Besides that she is kind and generous with her time and knowledge. Her studio is comforting and cozy too. I can't wait to go back.
