I've gotten massages all of my life and this was an excellent massage. She was very intuitive about where to pay attention to on my body so I didn't have to explain my needs, at all! My girlfriend really enjoyed her experience too. Her massage area was clean and very welcoming. I'm in the personal care industry so I know what to look for and what to look out for ;-) While there were no fluffy bathrobes or cucumber water to distract you from a mediocre massage that a lot of over priced spas perform, it was a relaxing, thorough massage. I will be back, like every time I go to San Juan kind of going back! Her prices were incredibly good as well. A don't miss sort of experience.

I am relatively new to getting massages but I have gotten a handful of massages at a variety of…read moreplaces, including at a massage school, professional spas in Oahu, Lanai and Las Vegas and with Melissa at Healing Elements Haleiwa. My experience with Melissa has been the best of all of them. It is very easy to communicate with her what you need and want and want and she does a great job. Haleiwa is a little far for some people (myself included) but I try to make a North Shore trip out of the day and it is always worth it. The cost of the massage is very reasonable, plus as a teacher I get a discount. You don't get the frills of a fancy spa here (but I'm not sure that's worth the extra $100 anyway) but you do get an awesome massage!

She uses amazing aromatherapy oils specifically for your issues. She used some techniques that I had never felt before and really worked out a lot of my knots! It is very small but zen! She is also very knowledgeable about pressure points. Unfortunately I just moved back to California or I would go to her every month! Oh yeah and her sister is a teacher so she gives discounts to teachers!!!!!

My boyfriend and i came here last month for a weekend getaway, i wanted to do a surprise massage…read morefor him, this place a little cheaper than the other local salon. I would give the spa 5 stars because overall our experience there was great, they let me set up an appointment on sunday, where they are normally closed. We had Kenny and his wife do our massges and from what me and my boyfriend concluded, they were great massages and they were very professional. i dont like talking during my massages and from what my boyfriend said and what Kenny did for me they were very focused into the massage and not chatty. they both did some work with hot stones and it was a first and they were a nice surprise and felt great. the only thing i had a little issue was when i first tried scheduling the appointment, the week before coming to San Juans, the first lady i talked to wasnt the spa director but she was very nice and gave me as much information as she could until the spa director herself would be able to get in touch with me. I didnt get a call back that day so i had to call again the next day, where i couldnt get a hold of the salon after multiple calls until i left a message. the director was helpful in the information she gave me but she did seem to be rushing me trying to get my appointment down and my information, so that was little odd for me.

I was here with my sisters wedding...Shawna for hair and Annette for make up are amazing. Dana runs…read morethe place, but the quality of her work was not nearly that of Shawna for updos. All the bridesmaids but one had Shawna do her hair, and Shawna ended up having to fix the maid who didn't have Shawna do it originally. The vibe went downhill when the bridesmaid whose hair Dana did required an overhaul. Dana became openly hostile and the Bride was really upset with the behavior because it made everyone feel tense and took away from the fun of the day because having to fix the hair caused us to be really late for pictures. Several of the bridesmaids commented on Dana's attitude and her lack of customer service. Shawna and Annette did a fantastic job and the results are amazing! Annette came over to the wedding venue to do touch ups for the Bridal party. The spa facility is nice, plush and comfortable but not overdone.

Not gonna lie -- Earthbox turned out to be a wonderfully refreshing change from a generic hotel…read morestay. The grounds -- consisting of about 4 or 5 separate buildings -- had a lovely chill vibe, lots of greenery around the compound, an indoor pool and sauna and a nice array of separate outdoor seating areas. The separate office/lobby was a large but cozy welcoming space with a fireplace, couches and coffee and a comfy spot to relax in. Also, not gonna lie -- accommodations are upscale Best Western level, which again, I have no problem with, but just so ya know, that's 300 greenbacks in high season. Hey, it's an island, I get it, there's not many options; Just throwing it out there. Our Queen Standard room was on the small side, but the bath/shower was perfectly adequate (if a bit dated), as was the A/C, and the bed and bedding was pretty comfortable. The staff too was awesome, cheery and happy to meet any need. We loved the pool and jacuzzi setup, and there's even a little exercise room in the same building. One thing I could have done without were the 5 or so emails I received before check-in, begging me to complete the online check-in form ahead of time, so I could just go right to the room without needing to stop at the office. Didn't work and I still had to physically check in. So yea, that was a pain. And yet? They still get 4 stars. Our one-night stay may have been expensive but it was very comfortable.

We had a really nice stay at Earthbox Inn and Spa. Right off the bat, they were very polite,…read morecourteous, and cordial via text to get all set up and pre-checked in so that we could go straight to our room when we arrived. I really appreciated that they had free EV chargers for guests, so we could plug in our car after a long day of driving and riding the ferry, at no additional charge. Spectacular. They are centrally located to everything you might want to do in Friday Harbor, so we only had to take our car once, when we went sightseeing around the island. Otherwise, it just stayed parked because we could walk everywhere, which was really nice. Everyone I interacted with during our stay was pleasant and professional. We had a maintenance issue in our room and they were quick to remedy it. I was a little disappointed that our room did not have some kind of fan to move air and the AC only went down to about 67 degrees and the furniture felt a bit...damp, so that is the reason for the 4 stars. I like my room to be cold, crisp, and clean and the one we stayed in just felt a bit...musty. Also, the local lavender farm is closed and the products are now sourced from Whidbey Island, but that was not disclosed to me until I asked, so I might suggest updating the information in the rooms. I was a bit disappointed we couldn't visit the lavender farm on island because it was permanently closed and so the sign in the bathroom kind of set me up for failure. All in all, it was a mostly pleasant stay and I would return the next time we want to visit Friday Harbor.

I am so happy to have found Sophie for massages in my new hometown, Friday Harbor. She has Shiatsu…read moretraining, but even more important she has an instinct for zeroing in on tightened muscle trouble spots - in short, she has "the touch." As a person with chronically knotted neck and shoulders, I'm thrilled by her ability to really get in to my tough "gristle" and get the tensed muscles to relax. Her studio location right in town and her availability on weekends and after 5 on weekdays are quite convenient as well, for this woefully sedentary office worker. All the thumbs up, I am hooked and now a regular.
