Came for the lunch buffet; I believe they're now officially the only place in the area that offers an AYCE pizza lunch buffet after Round Table Simi's permanent closure last week (they should advertise that they offer this!). The food was great and you can't beat the price considering it's all you can eat. Amir was accommodating from the start making sure that we had the kind of pizza we wanted. I've had Mountain Mike's at a few different locations and have enjoyed the products. Although this location in Moorpark isn't relatively close to where I live, I've been able to pick up some pies a couple of times. The variety of specialty pizzas make the menu appealing to nearly all customers. Our favorites have been the garlic tuscan and the BBQ chicken. The amount of toppings are generous and the pizza has always been fresh and hot. There's great coupons specials available that make the trek worth it for us. Hopefully this location makes as it appears to be in an odd location. The last couple of visits I haven't seen any other patrons so I'm hoping they are making it through delivery and on weekends. With no Roundtable in Thousand Oaks, Mountain Mike's is a good alternative. read more

Foods okay. There's a lack of garlic on the garlic knots and the cheese bread is just- cheese and dough. It doesn't have much taste like other cheese breads we've tried. Came here to try the Lunch Buffet. The price was really reasonable, and when I arrived, I think I was the first person of the day. The lady working the register was really nice and said I could choose the first pizzas of the day. The pizzas churned out in about 7-10 minutes. Fresh out of the oven, the bottom of the crust was crispy and it was very moist inside. I can understand why these need to be eaten immediately or it could cause some complaints if it sat for a while. The dough was definitely fresh. This is more like a mini Shakey's style place with a midwest flavor. There is ample seating as well as some fun and and games to keep the kids busy. The ingredients are very fresh and colorful. I really like the chicken and garlic and the BBQ chicken pizzas. The salad bar had fresh salads and the lettuce tasted like it was just washed unlike some places where it tastes like it was just dumped out of a plastic bag. If you order to go, I recommend eating the pizzas as quick as possible or air fry them when you get home. I also recommend odering their Churros and Garlic Knots to go with the pizza. read more

Ordered takeout and it was almost $100 for 3 large pizzas. Nothing special... just off the menu. Crusts are pre-fab frozen before baking. It's definitely not fresh made in house. While there were a lot of toppings, they were burned. They slice extra small as well. This is just another corporate chain. Probably good for kids, but we have a few good local spots who are producing much higher quality products (fresh dough, high quality ingredients), I have no issue paying top dollar for. I get food costs are up, but this was not worth the cost. Steer clear if you enjoy quality food. Will not be back. I'll support the locals who are doing it right. read more

Always looking for the next great pizza in Moorpark, tonight we went to Mountain Mike's. We walked inside and it was clean and comfortable with plenty of seating. The employees were friendly and did a great job. I ordered a McKinley because it has all my favorite toppings. It showed up after a short wait and looked fantastic. The toppings were plentiful and the crust was crispy and well cooked. The downfall was the sauce. It had a very strong tomato paste flavor without much in the way of seasoning. There was also way too much and it unfortunately took over the entire taste experience. Very unfortunate. They did a lot of things right but the sauce was just too much. I really wanted to give this place a good review as the lunch special seemed like a good deal. However I can only give two stars for the following: 1) I don't like to feel compelled to tip when the lunch special is a buffet and I am serving myself. I can't stand these new credit card terminals that make you feel uncomfortable when the person is standing right there and you end up feeling like a jerk if you don't tip even though all they did was take you money and hand you a plate. 2) My first clue that this might not be good is that the place was empty during lunch time. Not a good sign but not rating them on this just making a comment. 3) On the pizza buffet they had 4 pizzas that where very hot under the hear lamps but also "extremely" dry and for the most part tasteless. 4) After spending about 45 minutes sitting in the empty dinning room checking email etc I was not asked at all how things where or even saw an employee for that matter Again I was hoping this place would be good and hope things improve. Worse than your standard chains like dominoes and Pizza Hut yet DOUBLE THE PRICE! 50 bucks for a 20" specialty pizza with generic frozen crust and burnt overly salty prepackaged preserved meats ? The amount of burnt pepperonis was ridiculous and one of the first times in my life that leftover pizza went to waste and wasn't even good cold the next day. Straight into the trash after one more salty burnt morning bite. Plus their frozen potato wedges cost $10 and aren't even half as good as what u can get a Vons for half the price. And then to make matters worse their claw machines are all a rip off with the worst prizes and then they jam all the stuffed animals down tight and the claws have no grab force. Much better spending that $5 to $10 arcade money across the parking lot at lucky strike where the games are litterally 2x the value u get here in the limited amount of rip off games they have. I don't see how this place will stay in business more than a couple months unfortunately, because more video game / arcade / sports team pizza parlors are desperately Needed, yet this places failed on all levels, u fortunately. read more

Was so excited to hear they opened this week so naturally we had to get a piece of that pie to support our Moorpark local business! We ordered a large pepperoni pineapple pizza with a side of the Stingin' honey boneless wings. The hubby ordered via phone while I was on my home and it was ready right as I walked in...what perfect timing (approximately 20 minutes)! When I arrived I noticed tables filled with diners...most with their kids which was so nice to see! The atmosphere was family friendly but most importantly clean and inviting. The staff were working hard and getting the job done! We loved the pizza...the crust was slightly crispy on the bottom which is how we like it. We've been waiting for a Mountain Mike's to open near us; it's our favorite pizza. The pizza is exactly as delicious as we had expected. The employees were very kind and attentive but overall it seems poorly run. They didn't have any ice for beverages or cheese for the pizza. They didn't know where the drink lids or straws were. They didn't have the pizza tables stands so the pan is not occupying table space. We ordered dine in but they served it in a box which also crowded the table and is wasteful. The arcade games were being serviced but they are super noisy, especially the storm machine, hopefully there are settings which can be adjusted to tamper down the sound level. Overall the experience was like they were flying the plane while building it. Hopefully they will improve with time. read more

I ordered a pizza on line, for pick up and when I arrived the place looked closed, but the door was unlocked. When I walked in there were no employees visible. After about one minute at the counter waiting, I made eye contact with someone in the back. He walked out but didn't say hi, sorry for the wait, or can I help you, just looked at me. I then said, I'm picking up an online order... He didn't respond, just turned around and went back to the kitchen. I could see him working in the back and then placed the order in the window area, between the kitchen and the front. Walked back around and handed me the order with sauces sitting on the top of the pizza box. I asked for a bag because I was sure they would slide off. He looked at me, didn't say anything and then gave me a bag. No, thank you, no smile, or come back again. The pizza was mediocre, but for the large size it really wasn't large and not for the price. But the bottom line, service was horrendous and I didn't feel welcome. I'm not sure if the employee was anxious to get home or why he was so terrible in customer service. We recently stopped in for dinner. It was a weeknight and fairly quiet when we arrived, though it got a bit busier before we left. My son loved the games that were available, though the process to buy the card for them was a bit awkward. It was a little confusing to sort out adding $, then applying the $ to the card, and it was a bit unclear how many credits you were purchasing. But, now that we've gone once, we've basically figured it out. Our pizza took a while - we just got a large cheese and it felt like it took a long time. People who sat down after us got their food more quickly, so maybe ours was the outlier. We were happy with our meal, and we'll return. You only have one shot to make a good first impression and this place absolutely blew it. I'm patiently waiting in line behind a small family. Once they complete their order the cashier leaves to clean a table, leaving me waiting. Mind you, this is mid day. The place is empty, 95% of the tables are clean. Apparently she thinks cleaning this table is more important than the customer. A man in the kitchen has to come out and ask her to help me out. She then insists that HE should help me because she is busy with this table lol. They continue to stare each other down before the female finally concedes and returns to the register. The only words spoken to me were "cash or card" during the entire duration of my visit. I said "thank you" once my order was finally handed to me, no response. As for the pizza? Mid.
