My husband and I thought we'd give Mountain Mike's a try since we're all for supporting our local businesses and happen to be pizza lovers as well! We ordered our pizza to go and went in and picked it up. Upon walking in I had a good first impression, the restaurant was clean and looked like a fun pizza place with games and t.v's, very family friendly. As I payed for our pizza and cheesy bread I was promptly greeted by friendly staff. I was very pleased with the service they provided from the time I called to place the order to picking up the food. I got our order and we began our drive home... Once in the car we took a peek, the pizza looked and smelled great. At this point we were pretty hungry and ready to dig in. When we got home we began eating only to find that the pizza looked a whole lot better than it tasted. The crust was the main problem for both the cheesy bread and pizza, they were just lacking something even though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It was almost a little cardboardy I wanna say! The sauce could have used a little help too. Honestly I'd love to give them one more try just because I really want them to do well. It's nice to see Madera growing and I want to support the few businesses we have in our local community. But I'm on the fence and definitely hoping that if we do go back it would taste better than the last time. Delicious pizza! My family and I come here every once in a while to get our pizza fix. It is always delicious! It's a nice place if you want to watch the game, have a beer, and eat pizza. There's about three TVs. They also have gluten free pizza! However, it is overpriced at $15 for a small pizza. I would give 5 stars for the pizza, however the prices bring it down to 4. Come here! The pizza was alright, I liked the crust. I was expecting more flavor from anything really. The boneless chicken wings were like mush (both texture and that they would disintegrate when I would pick them up), and they looked like they were from the freezer and thrown in a toaster oven. The pizza needs way more cheese. If I can literally see the crust through the cheese, then there's not enough cheese. If all my other toppings are falling off because there's nothing holding them down, there's not enough cheese. Put more cheese on please. Also if a specialty pizza is being ordered, if a customer wants to substitute a single meat for a single vegetable, then they shouldn't be charged extra. Other than that I do commend them on how quickly and far out they delivered; that was a very nice to have when no one closer to me would bother delivering to my location. So I would definitely order from them again so long as they fix the cheese issue! read more

Its my second time having there pizza and all i can say its that its GREAT!! I have dine in when it first open but it was too crowded. I was not able to enjoy it because we had the buffet and it didn't have all the different types of pizzas. The salad bar was messy due to the amount of people. So this weekend we placed an order for delivery not only was my pizza delivered by 25mins but it was hot! I've order pizza all the time from other places and it takes over 40 min and the pizza is warm. I was very excited and i know i will defiantly be coming back!! Went in at 1:15 pm not knowing they close at 2. We paid $23.00 for 2 pizza and salad combo lunches. The pizza was old and bad under the lights. The salad bar was good except the lettuce was brown and I asked to have it changed. The drink machine was out of ice. So warm soda, the guy behind the counter explained the ice machine had been broken for days. I don't know but a small gesture if it was my business would be to go to the store and get some ice for my customers. Also if there was brown lettuce I would be quick to change for customers even if it was close to closing. The pizza under the lights, I have to say the guy behind the counter did come over to our table and ask if he needed to make a fresh pizza for us, he was very nice and asked twice. I felt I was putting him out somehow, and I think if it was my business I would have just made another , we weren't the only customers in there either. Sitting here tonight with a sour stomach from old pizza, brown lettuce and warm soda, I'm wondering where is the customer service? We eat at Mountain Mikes from time to time. On 1-17-2020 1pm, we went in for lunch to have their buffet. The young lady running the counter was rude, not only to us but to others. We were there about 45 minutes and they only had one pizza at a time out for the buffet. ONE! for a restaurant full of people waiting. A line started to form in front of the pizza counter and she would only bring out one pizza. People were utterly frustrated by the lack of attention they were getting. The lady running the counter just didn't care! Very sad as this place has always done better. Just wasn't a good experience. The owners should try harder. read more

My favorite pizza in all of madera, love the bacon and pepperoni pizza, the BEST!! BUT they have the worst customer service! The girls take forever to take your order. I was eating inside with my family and two guys came in and were literally standing there for about 10 minutes til the girl came and took their order. Love the food, hate the service. I have had four different bad experiences. The 1st time it happened was not long after opening & if she was not the owner she sure acted the part. Figured it was just the stress off start up. Went back many times, no trouble & good food. Then about a year later came across the same woman & she was still very rude & hated the fact that I wanted to us a coupon. Again let it go, because she was rude but took the coupon & pizza was made to order correctly. Then it happened 2 times in this July, 2017. This time I called in to place the order, did not sound like the same woman that had been rude the 2 other times...but a younger female voice was crystal clear, no background noises that I could hear, she could not hear me after I said I would like to use a coupon & she was being rude at which time I said so (I know, not something to do when ordering food!!). Then the line went dead. So told family we would no longer be going there. I spoke too soon & within a week my mom came to visit & she is on a gluten-free diet. Not leaving us too many choices we went in to eat after lunch buffet was over. No one met us at the register, all the tables were dirty & we were the only customers. I saw the actual male owner walking around & he walked past me twice. We sat down, then got back up to order, 2 young female employees had been there when we walked in, they walked past us again at which point we left. We will not be back! read more

I've always been a fan of Mountain Mike's. Their pepperoni has a good spicy bite to it and the specialty pizza's were always super fresh and piled on with toppings (my favorite being the robber's roost). I went here this saturday at about 8pm ordered a medium pizza for takeout. It was a big let down, it just wasn't as good as other locations I've been to. The night before I placed an order my dad brought some pizza home from Mountain Mike's. I'm actually a vegetarian but to be honest the smell of the large pepperoni was so enticing I had to try some for myself, with no meat of cores. I placed an order the tonight actually for two Large pizzas for $9.99 each. I was going to get two mediums but for some reason they were $12 each. Why, I have no idea? It came to around $21 with tax for my order and I phoned it in for a pick up. I was told that the wait would be 45 minutes due to business being busy. That actually wasn't a problem for me as I was planning on asking for them to start it in an hour anyways. Coming into the restaurant the hour it was ready I have to say the place looked pretty nice. The place had flat screens and a few grab claw machines that looked like were calling my name. Upon walking to the cash register I noticed that they used a conveyor oven, which isn't to big of a deal because I used to work at B.J's Pizza in Clovis were they used a one as well and their pizza is awesome. Anyways I payed and everything was correct. The pizzas smelled good and I started the drive back home. Now being that I just finished a hardy work out at the gym I was pretty hungry and the smell feeling the car was just to much to handle. I decided to try a slice of my cheese with olives. This is the part of the review that gets a little sad. Let me first say that as a pick up order the service for just the few minutes I was there was really great, nice people and everything. And again the placed looked nice. That being said the pizza was very disappointing. A lot of a pizzas taste comes from two things in my opinion, the sauce and the crust or dough. That first bite were I tasted both left me to believe that the pizza sauce is mostly canned , meaning that everything is already made in a can. Working at B.J's I'm used to sauce that is made in house. The dough was also a problem. I don't know how they prepare it but to be honest it tasted like it was frozen. In the end I was really expecting more, having survived Gambini's pizza here in Madera I can say it was better than that but not by much. Also the cheese was a little to mild which allowed for the taste of the sauce and crust to over power the pizza. Unfortunately I don't think I would go back which is sad because I'd love to see them succeed. I understand that they just opened a week ago from today but in the restaurant business it's important to establish a good reputation fast no matter what. I'm powering through my pizza but I think I'm going to be getting a refund for the large pepperoni I got for my girlfriend. She said that the meat tasted a little off and if that is true Mike's is in bigger trouble then I though. Result: Go there If you want to try it for yourself but if your the type that knows good pizza from bad or pizza that's frozen from home made, then this place isn't for you. read more

They took over 40 minutes for one damn large pizza , three other customers were served first before us even though they came after us. The cashier was rude, and not very friendly upon arrival. They only offer one trip for the salad bar. They don't offer any hot sauces. They charge extra for everything. Pizza is way too salty, and bad service, not coming here again. read more

Interior is really nice. Clean and new. Bathrooms are nearly mint condition. But the food is where we found issues. Pizza crust was very odd. Very dry on the bottom. Very dense in the middle. More like a french bread and less like pizza dough. Would not eat it again. Its the exact opposite of chewy crispy moist pizzas. Its spongy, dense and dry. Also tried the chicken bites. They are clones of Tysons frozen chicken nuggets. Inedible. Not going to eat Mountain Mikes again. read more

Not even the chicken wings came out after 44 minutes. When we approached the counter they stated it was coming out shortly. It took 56 minutes for the chicken wings and an hour exactly for the pizza. Did my due diligence. Was at Madera speedway last weekend. Went to Togos for lunch, knowing we wanted Pizza for dinner. Asked their closing time, I was told 11pm came in at 9:51 tried to order and was told we could do take out only! (This is not posted anywhere)! Girl's were absolutely rude! Come in here for lunch every once and a good while. Lunch special is fantastic when I'm able make it in on time other wise prices are fairly high. For the amount I pay for a small salad in a very small plastic container and a personal pizza with a drink I could go across the street to dominos and feed my whole family with delivery services. Aside from the customer service could be worked on tremendously. During my 15 min stay waiting for my carryout pizza I witnessed a girl cursing whole cleaning up customer messes even though it is the job she signed up for. Very off putting. The pizza here is really good. And they usually have some nice deals going on. But, their staff is horrible. You can stand there for minutes and none of the girls in front will come up and take your order. They are never friendly. Always look like they hate their job. Most of the time their tables are left uncleaned, with food and plates left from previous guests. if you go in an hour before they close they refuse to let you eat there. I understand if someone went an half hour or 15 minutes before they close, but a whole hour? They could be at least nice about it. I recommend you order to go. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews here. My husband and I have been coming to Mountain Mike's since it opened in spring of 2012 - and have probably visited 12 or 14 times. We typically order the Everest or pepperoni pizzas. They are always hot and delicious (and only once was one slightly overcooked). That said, we haven't tried the wings or the salad bar, but we are completely happy with the pizza. For a chain pizza restaurant, it is pretty darn good! read more

The pizza is always excellent. Prices are reasonable with frequent discount cards and coupons available. It has become our favorite pizza place in Madera. I'm a fan of Mountain Mike's. The only negative for us, is that every once in a while their delivery times are extremely long. I called recently, and was quoted an hour and forty-five minutes for delivery.
