Some of the best pizza in Arizona! I'm from Oakland and in the Bay Area Mountain Mikes is well known and a favorite to many. I was so happy when this location came to AZ. Fact: Anything and anyone named Mike has to be good. Of course, I might be biased. We popped in here one day after going holiday shopping in the same plaza. I have always been curious about this California chain, so I was happy to be able to give them a try. Firstly, I noticed that the place was clean. Second, the prices. The pricepoint was higher so I was hoping the pizza and wings were going to be better than the other big pizza chains. The Snowy Alps was great and the Frank's RedHot Buffalo wings were also good albeit on the smaller side. So while the food wasn't bad, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Went up to inform the cashier of the mistake and was met with a "well that's what you ordered" and a "sure" when asked about replacing with the correct item. Moved to area and I ordered here 2 times. First just pizza which ,I really liked, and churros, but those were under cooked and doughy. I have it a 2nd try last night and thought I would try a few other things. Got the pizza and still really liked it. The bone in Wings were extremely small and I ordered 2 bones less and 2 bone in with all different flavors. The taste/sauces was good, but I family was extremely disappointed in bone in wing size especially considering the price. Got the hot mozzarella sticks and those were super good. They have good pizza here. If you like your crust thick and fluffy, this is the place to go. I think that the way they cut their pizza slices are quite cute. It is the standard triangle shape but thinner. So imagine a regular size slice cut lengthwise an additional time. I like it. I think my family does as well. They have a pretty good amount of toppings. We asked for sausage. I like how the sausage balls are small. I don't like the large ones as they are difficult to eat on the pizza. They stapled my receipt to the top of the box which is pretty nice so we don't lose it or drop it later when getting to or into the car in case we need it later for some reason. I didn't know this but if you join the Mountain Rewards program you can get $5 off your first order. Although we have already ordered a few times before I will have to join the program and see if I can get a discount too. read more

Medium 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 cheese. Plenty of toppings! I really like the set-up inside with a mini salad bar and a great lunch special offered 11-2 M-F. We also had the BBQ boneless Wings and a Cliff Hanger sandwich that was pretty tasty ( a little light on the meat though.) Tried this place today, my buddy wanted pizza and have had before. I wasn't impressed with the pizza, we had the Everett lots of toppings but way too much onion, way too much. It's thick crest type pizza not my type. Service was ok, took about 15 minutes to get the pizza. The place has 5-6 big screen TV's with various types of sporting events on them. Each TV had a different type of event. The music was a combo of country and light rock. To me everything didn't work, this trend of having multiple TV with sporting events is lost in a pizza place. I doubt I'll be back there are better pizza places in PHX. read more

Presentation gets 5 stars. It looks amazing and packaging is brandtastic. Delivery driver was kind. Online ordering was efficient and simple. The taste, however, and while subjective, is subpar to the look. We didn't splurge for the "mountain" of toppings and opted for cheese pizza- so perhaps that's the lesser menu item of choice. Fries were undercooked. The basic cheese pizza was tasteless other than sauce being too salty, doughy, and not at all worth the price. If we are spending $20+ per pizza, it should taste scrumptious or authentic, but this was not as enjoyable as even Dominos level. Bummer! read more

Great pizzas with quality toppings and creative, tasty combinations!! I got the 10" " McKinley " pizza, it tastes as great as it looks. The pizzas are made to order and it came out to my table unbelievably fast. When the cashier Mathias said it would be "10 minutes" for my pizza, I kind of didn't believe him. It actually came out in that or less! Mathias also provided great customer service, me being a first time customer, I had a ton of questions. He answered them all with courtesy and kindness which in todays times, is a rarity. I saw the salad bar and almost added that but I just didn't have the ability to eat all of that. They have lunch specials until 2 pm that are a GREAT value and the salad bar is included in some. I'll be back for those for sure! The dining area, restroom and the salad bar were VERY clean, which is amazing given it is late lunchtime here on a Friday. We usually enjoy Mountain Mike's Pizza back at home in the Bat Area but was really disappointed in this location. We called and they said our pizza would he ready in 30 minutes. After arriving, we had to wait an additional 45 minutes which was ridiculous. They could have let us know if they knew they had a big order. No bread for anything but still charged me for the order. I asked for my money back. Older manager guy did not know to work the register & machine to give refunds. Wanted to really like this place! But because the kitchen area is wide open and visible, you can see into the kitchen... I'm so grossed out. People were sweeping floors and dumping out the dustpan above the trash right next to where pizzas are being made. Employees are in the back eating pizza, then making our pizza without washing their hands in between. Scratching their back under their shirt, itching their head and then going back to putting toppings on pizza. No gloves, no washing hands, no nothing. $26 for a medium pizza (says 12 slices but I guess anything is a slice technically if it's just cut, even if it's 1" wide lol) and some garlic knots is crazy. All that said, the food itself- The garlic knots were burnt and dry :) and the pizza wasn't awful. Overall, I don't think we'll be back. I guess 6:45pm on a weeknight maybe just isn't the best time to go? Positives: the pizza dough itself is delicious!!! And the food was hot. read more

Never heard of this place as there are few locations in AZ. Decided to try it after moving nearby. Ordered a standard pepperoni pizza and side of wings. It was delicious and the pizza came out like in the pictures. I was happy with the amount of pepperoni and first time eating this style of cup and charred pepperoni made it even better than a lot of other pizza joints. The wings were just as good. The boneless chicken wings were like I air fried Walmart frozen tender bites. Presentation was kind of a turn off alone on those boneless wings. We were so excited when we saw the picture of the pizza with all the pepperoni on it as it reminded us of one of our favorite pizza places. We got our order and everything smelled really good. Over all we were pleased with our order and everything tasted good. The only thing we were very disappointed in was the amount of the pepperoni on the pizza. It wasn't even close to the pictures. I know they make the pictures look really good but the amount of pepperoni should have been close to the picture but wasn't. I hope this is just starting pains with the new location. Ordered out the Pepperoni pizza but added mushroom and onion for about $3.50 extra. We were expecting a pizza overloaded with good toppings. However, the pizza was lacking in all toppings, as if they only used a third of the pepperoni compared to the pictures on the website. Most of the flavor just came from the crust. In addition the email confirmation of the order came today instead of yesterday! Maybe in a week or two we will give it another try, but this time ordering just the personal sized pizza, thin crust, with just pepperoni to see if we get the advertised loaded pepperoni hopefully with crispy edges. I grew up with Mountain Mike's in my hometown, Castro Valley, CA., so I was ecstatic to hear about one opening within 2 miles from my home here in AZ!
